This was a textbook perfect example of the food you get at an American Chinese buffet. It was…read morenostalgic and had all the classics, and the food was hot and replaced often. The dining room was fairly packed which shows how popular it is. I think it suffered only in the lack of dessert options and cooked vegetables free from being mixed with a meat. There was also the matter of the price, which we felt was too much for the food quality, (which wasn't poor, but wasn't incredible either). I really liked the hot and sour soup, my partner liked the chicken skewers.

Given the on and off 'Wonderful' reviews of this place, we came on a weekend for lunch and our…read moreexperience was okay. I hadn't been here for years. Food: 3/5 - they had a good selection of seafood that day such as shrimp, lobster, oysters, clams, etc. The lobster was served in tiny pieces & looked like mainly shells. There was a sign limiting to 5 lobsters each time you went up. That and other seafood were overcooked. I didn't try too much seafood as I didn't know how fresh it was. Good value considering its buffet. Service: 3/5 - okay considering it was the weekend and busy. You have to call them if you want service. They came by frequently to take the used plates away. Atmosphere: 3/5 - place is dated which adds ambience to the place. There's complimentary parking. Check my photo for the various prices depending on what day & time you dine at. I doubt I will be back soon as there is tastier food to dine at. If you love deep fried food, this place has plenty of choices.

They don't have that big of selection during lunch hour and dinner is okay too. The quality is okay as well. Nothing will pop out for your palette but for the price you pay for vs what you get, it's justified. Lots of parking and attentive staff. The setting is your casual Chinese buffet.

First time visiting this Chinese buffet restaurant. Buffet restaurants are slowly coming back…read moreafter the pandemic and we were very pleased to find this one. There is ample parking with few spots left. The restaurant was packed and contrary to previous reviews, there was no tour bus filling this restaurant for the dinner rush, it was filled with people of all ages including a number of Asian families - always a good sign of authentic cuisine. The restaurant was clean. The ambience was humming with conversation. The staff are friendly, quick, and very busy filling up buffet items, cleaning up after diners, or bringing out clean plates and cutlery. The place was hopping at when we arrived at 5pm and remained so after we left at 7pm . The prices were very good for an all-you-can-eat buffet meal at $19 for lunch and $24 for dinner for an adult - Consistent with current meal prices. This is a very large buffet with 60 items to choose from and the taste is typical Hong Kong - Caucasian style Chinese cuisine. Simple classic dishes, meat, veg, starch, 2 soups (won ton and sweet and sour) desserts of classic fortune, wafer, maple cookies as well as oatmeal sugar free cookies, jello, cake, and 8 flavours of ice cream with a sugar free option. We tried a little of every dish. The one problem we find with a lot of buffets is food tends to dry out or overcook under the heat lights. This buffet was no exception. While the meal was good, if you are looking for fantastic - it would be best to order your dishes cooked to order and not at a buffet. Some of the food items were dated with heavy coatings - not surprising since this restaurant opened in 1987 and is a staple in Chilliwack. It is definitely worth a visit and go soon, as I understand the original owners, great-grandparents now, still cook and are looking to retire so this place is for sale. We hope this restaurant still exists when we visit again in a year as we would return. Overall, a very filling meal, perfect for a quick dinner you do not have to wait for. Recommendations - sweet and sour pork, garlic pork, shrimp stir fry, chicken legs, button mushrooms, both soups, and ice cream

When heading to Chilliwack and craving Indian food, this is the perfect spot to be. It has…read moredelicious food options very reasonably priced and the ambience and services are also great. As you enter, it has a warm ambience with nice reddish coloured walls and a friendly staff. The aroma of the place is totally Indian and the menu with price is very enticing. We ordered unique combos for lunch. For start we ordered gravy Manchurian with garlic naan. The balls were bit stiff but gravy was nice, a bit on sweet side which you can ask to be on hot side. The garlic naans were super soft and yum. I personally loved dal makhani the most. We made it as a combo and ended up having it 3 times as it was super delicious. So you cannot go wrong with it. The salty lassi is must in lunch it just goes super well with your meal and is absolutely refreshing in this summer heat. We also ordered methi malai paneer which was a bit spice but had nice flavours. I would not recommend the pasanda paneer here though and also the shikanji. Dal makhani, lassi, garlic naan, tandoori roti and methi malai paneer yes. Do try this restaurant for a full belly hearty meal. Space is clean and nice and service is quite good.

I've never actually been into this restaurant, but order on Skip the Dishes all the time…read more The pakora platter is one of my favorite dishes. It's a great price point, and extremely filling. If I order this, I don't typically need an entree. The pakora and samosas that come with it are great, I usually replace the chicken samosa with a veggie one though, personal preference. Their naan is great. I've tried 3 or 4 different ones, and have yet to be disappointed. The reason this place only gets three stars though is that their entrees really aren't that good. It's all bland, it lacks basic spices. I don't mean heat, but that is lacking a bit too. The butter chicken is meh, the biryani aren't anything special, their curries are lackluster. I go for the naan and the platter.

Over the last 20 years I have been loyal to one Chinese food restaurant in town. I expect average…read morequality food, standard selection, quick service, and reasonable prices from them. During the month of September 2012 I picked up my $75 order and returned home to feed my family of 6 with it. The food was so greasy & salty, that it was obvious that whomever made it did not care. I was quite disappointed, but where else could I go? I asked a large group of parents on my child's elementary school field trip: "Where in Abbotsford can I get good Chinese food?" Their answer was unanimous: "There is no good Chinese food here." So I went on yelp and decided to check out a "new to me" restaurant. I chose Golden Dragon because of their proximity to my home and their few good reviews. Long story short: it was not greasy, and it was definitely not salty. The food was hot & fresh (especially the Wonton soup). During my second, third, and fourth visit I learned the following: Golden Dragon has been open for many years in Abbotsford (I think they said around 10). It is a family run restaurant: wife works phone & counter, and husband prepares all the food. The Wonton soup is prepared daily, and it has been great every time. They do not use MSG and you can request less garlic (if that's they way you like it). The prices are fantastic too. So for now I am happy with great food, great prices, and a great family that cares about what they are serving their neighbours.

And the egg roll was even worse. overall taste: frosted flakes fried in old grease covered with XO and soya sauce. honestly scared to eat it for health reasons. We thought it would primarily be brunch/breakfast items but there was such a large selection and variety of items. The staff were very nice and accommodating. They also had live music which was a nice mood setter. You get juice, pop, coffee or tea included with your meal. Alcoholic drinks are extra charge. We had gone on a regular Sunday and not an "event" Sunday so am not sure of other offerings. There was sushi, inari sushi, dumplings, sticky rice (but not sure if the dimsum was leftover from lunar new year special), roast beef, ham, mussels, shrimp cocktail, fried rice, short rib, roasted vegetables (REAL veg not just bagged corn and peas like other places lol), sablefish, grilled chicken, eggs benny station, omelette station, charcuterie, scrambled eggs, toast, bacon, sausage, mini avo toasts and dessert bar. The only real downside is the overall price. I think just given the location I wish it were slightly cheaper. Adults are $45 and seniors are $37. There aren't a lot of good quality buffets around so I do understand it sets them apart it just may attract more guests at a bit of a cheaper price. Or maybe it they had something in conjunction with the casino to offer a discount that would be another incentive to get people across the bridge. I would be more so inclined to bring them back at a different rate as we are coming from Burnaby and Vancouver.
