Native to the Miamisburg area, we settled here for lunch. This place reminded me of any other type of burger/bar type of restaurant so I wasn't expecting much. I ordered the mushroom Swiss burger and I have to say their thoughts on it is a little different. The mushroom in particular. The Swiss and burger is pretty standard along with the fries of course. Now, what TJ chumps does differently with the mushroom is that they have one massive mushroom as big as the burger. This is different because most other mushroom Swiss burgers have little mushrooms sprinkled on there. To me, I think the idea of a big burger is ideal, it brings out the mushroom in a mushroom burger. The service was well put throughout the meal. I never had to ask for anything, and if I did I didn't have to do it multiple times. If you want a good local burger joint, or a similar TGI Fridays, this is the place to go. I really had high hopes for our first visit last summer, but I just felt meh about it. The restaurant is kinda small and dark, a little run down. The outside patio is really nice, but a big negative is they allow smoking outside. With young kids especially I found that a big turn off plus it just makes your whole dining experience smell disgusting. They had a lot of food options. Mostly bar type food, which I expected. I wasn't overly impressed with anything I tried that day. My sandwich was good, but nothing to write home about. The portions are big, which is nice. Service was great and our waitress was very attentive. You get great views of downtown Miamisburg and being in the middle of whatever is going on in downtown Miamisburg. As with everything else in Maimisburg there is no parking lot for TJ Chumps only, but there are tons of lots around as well as on street parking. read more

We stopped in for the first time and I'm sure we will be back. We were seated on the awesome covered patio, which is great to be able to sit outside even in weather that is not great. We were seated quickly, greeted quickly, and served quickly! They have $2 Long Islands and Margaritas on Tuesday's. I tried a Long Island and it was ok, I really didn't expect much for $2 though. I stuck with beer after that. The cheese sticks were FABULOUS!! Thick and crisp, you can tell they are not generic frozen ones like most places serve. I got the Chump Burger with waffle fries and BF got the Cajun Chicken pasta. The burger was fine, I would've like a little more of the tarter sauce on it, you couldn't really taste it, but the burger was good. BF was happy with the pasta and finished it even though he was stuffed! The patio was really loud but we enjoyed hanging out there. My wife and I drove out of our way to visit Chumps. We asked to be seated on the covered patio,but were refused, despite several empty tables. We were seated in the corner of the bar area, with a non local game turned up to an uncomfortable volume. The bartender was prompt with our drink order, but seemed irritated that we were not ready to order when he came back. So he disappeared for 30 minutes before taking the order. We had arrived at 4:30 PM, our order was taken at 5 PM. When 6 PM arrived with no food, I told my wife we were leaving at 6:05 if no food arrived. Note that many tables had been seated, ordered and had food arrive after us. At 6:04, another waiter brought our food out. My chili was lukewarm, but at that point I only wanted to finish and leave ASAP. The food was acceptable, but they must give preference to locals in seating and service. Previously, I've really enjoyed TJ Chumps, but something has changed. The quality isn't what it use to be. A couple weeks ago, my friend found a hair in her salad. Which I get, it happens. But then on Tuesday, I took my mom for dinner and found a hair in my beer cheese. I think they need to take a look in the kitchen and make sure everyone is covered appropriately. We had a quick business lunch. We sat outside on the patio. The ambience was great. It was a relaxing outdoor patio. I ordered the grille chicken portobello Spinach salad. It was ok not great. The salad had way too much mozzarella cheese. The chicken was savory and juicy. The portabella mushroom was amazing. It was fresh. The salad was 70% Spinach and 30% everything else. The service was ok not great. I ordered the Arnold palmer without ice. The ratio was 60%/40% ice tea. The food did not all come out at once and people had to wait 10 minutes before the rest of the food came out. The salad would have been better with more vegetable other than cheese. TJ Chump was an ok spot to dine and meet as a local business location. The was good was average for the portion and price. If you like traditional American fare, and lots of TVs, this is the place for you. They don't have much that is on the lighter or healthier side, and if they did, it probably wouldn't sell. I think they have one vegetarian item, but you may be able to get them to take the meat out of a salad. If you order hot chocolate, they will hand you an instant packet and a cup of hot water. That being said, everyone really seemed to be enjoying themselves with the 31 TV sports overload. So there's that. read more

The location is prime and this location has a really nice patio for drinks, but the food is over priced. The food is good, but again for bar food like sandwiches with a bag of chips and wings its too much. Your looking at about 12 to 13 dollars a person for food only. We frequent this restaurant because of the convenience, it is very close. The menu has a lot of options. The food has always been decent, the ham sandwich on pretzel bun is our favorite. The service is quick (we always order carry out) and they have only messed up our order once. The only negative is the prices....holy cow. I went to TJ Chumps for the first time this evening. Once I walked in the door it had a warm inviting feel to it. I sat at the bar and had a drink and ordered some food. We came into town to visit friends. They recommend this place. I saw the reviews in advance, but since they are local and we were not who was I to protest? We were seated on the patio. My husband and I had to swap out several chairs to find some that actually had springs left. The patio furniture needs to be completed updated. They are broken and worn out. It appears they leave it in the weather all year round. It was rusted, broken, and sticky. I used sanitary wipes in my chair, and the towelettes were brown. Our waitress was as pleasant as they come, and was pretty much on top of her game. She did miss our appetizer so when the meal came we just canceled it. What bothered me the most about our waitress was that they had uniform T shirts. The t shirts were a thin type, and she was without a bra. I just find that unprofessional. Call me old fashioned if you want, but I think if your coming to work you should strap the girls into something so they are not flying around all over the place. There was another service who had a uniform shirt that was clearly very stained. These are management issues that good management correct in a hot minute. We had mostly ribs, fries, and salads. All were fresh, edible, and promptly served. This place has potential with the right management. It's certainly lacking in that area. read more

This was supposed to be a special meal. Our friend had heard so much good about this place. We visited on a Monday, they weren't busy but they seemed to have a huge volume of takeout. We ordered basic drinks except for one frozen raspberry margarita. It was undrinkable, just a regular margarita mix with a squirt of raspberry syrup. The waiter recommended the salmon or the ribs. I enjoyed my salmon wrap with the fresh salmon cooked medium. The salmon was completely unseasoned though. My loaded potato soup was typical bar food but COLD! In fact, none of our meals were hot. The ribs were okay but would have been better hot. The seven oz sirloin was perfectly cooked and tender but cold. The loaded smashed potatoes are a great idea for a side but these were dry, unseasoned potatoes with bacon bits, green onion and cheese, no butter or sour cream and so cold that the cheese didn't melt. My husband ordered pork chops, they were inedible, unseasoned, cold and just unappealing. The broccoli also had no butter, just Parmesan shreds that didn't melt because of the tepid temp. We picked and chose what to complain about. The drink was replaced and the uneaten chops were taken off the bill. The staff was friendly, if distracted. I might try this place again during normal times since so many people like it. read more

I am disappointed to leave 3 stars. We went to the one in Fairborn and the food was amazing. Ordered the same here, and not so good. I increased by one star because the bartender was very good. Husband got the signature Chump Boy Burger. Had to be sent back 3 times because he ordered it medium and was rare. Then had to ask for tartar sauce and barely had any lettuce. I got the portabella chicken spinach salad. The salad would have been better if the chicken and mushroom weren't cold. The shoe string fries were good. We will give them another try. Went to TJ Chumps over past weekend. Menu selection was pretty small I thought, but the beer was cold and the food we did get was good. Our waitress wasn't the friendliest but she was okay. One thing that did impress me was the dessert sizing and price. They were all absolutely gigantic. Half the price of places and twice the size. The waitress brought us our checks way before we were ready to leave. We had planned to stay and drink and eat more but felt like she wanted us gone. Had reservations and were seated right away, our waitress (Elizabeth) was awesome, very patient and understanding, food was delivered on time and was very good, surprised we haven't been here more often ..... this restaurant turned out to be an excellent place to celebrate with a large party, food & service was top notch...., 4 1/2 stars for food , 5 stars for service (Elizabeth) , everyone including the manager were very helpful ...! So, after I finished a brisk 20 mile bike ride on the trail, I met the Hoff here for dinner. We sat outside, which is one of the great draws of this place...that and the extremely loud, obnoxious sounds of Harley Davidson motorcycles that routinely pass by. Some even stop to have lunch. I must say, I felt pretty cool pulling up on my bike next to those Harleys. The Hoff and I started with some Great Lakes on tap, which was delicious. I usually drink this stuff in bottle-form, so I was glad that it was on tap - probably the first time I've had it that way. The waitress (one of half a dozen who helped us...really!) recommended something not really on the menu: a salmon bruschetta dip with balsamic vinegar and grated parm cheese. That was awesome! I was really impressed. Then again, balsamic vinegar makes everything taste good! For dinner, I had the ribs. Here's the part that grossed me out, but I was so hungry I looked passed it: there was a dark hair on my ribs. It almost looked like a thread, but I am sure it was a hair. Yuck. It was a straight hair. I didn't try to connect the hair to one of the six people serving us, but I probably should have done so. Usually, I would just put the whole plate aside, but I didn't. Thinking about that now, in the cold light of day, makes me cringe. How could I keep eating those ribs? The Hoff's dinner was some sort of shrimp thing, which was made with peppers...unanticipated. He cannot handle peppers, so that was not good. I shared my hair-covered ribs with him...well, gave him a bit piece. He thought the dish was a bit spicy, and since he's not a spicy person (at least in terms of culinary taste), he didn't eat it all. So, overall, a reasonably good experience. Brought friends here again last night after our first visit. AMAZING! Their ribs were killer, Their wings... BEST I've ever had (and I can eat some wings!). The side of broccoli was the largest broccoli florets I've ever seen, and the smashed potatoes and Mac and cheese were way above average. They make their own salad dressings and sauces. The blue cheese that came with the wings was lumpy full of cheese and sooo good, we even bought a tub of the rib sauce to use at home it was that good. I will be eating here many more times! I was not too impressed with this place when i went in there for lunch. I ordered the chicken parmesan wrap with chips and a salad. I wanted to sub the chips for a salad but they said all i could do is add on a salad for 2.99. So i added on the salad. The salad was very large which was probably the best thing about the place. The chicken wrap was soo dry i had to take the ranch dressing from my salad and use it on the wrap so i could chew it. Also I had to guzzle water. The wrap without the ranch dressing was almost impossible to eat. There was minimal chicken and mainly lettuce in the wrap. The service was alright, pretty much what you would expect from a bar that does not make most of their money on food im sure. Also the people who came in there were rather vocal about their views, and there were a few S and F bombs thrown around. Not a place for kids. Try it out if you are there for the drinks but do not expect family friendly and good food. read more

Dropped in for a lunch on mother's day...the patio is awesome. Natural lighting from the outside, tons of tvs, everything you could hope for out of such a place. Here's the bad: We had one issue, which was the wait. The restaurant was clearly understaffed. It took us over twenty minutes to place our order. This is what was good: everything else. I've been coming here for years and years with not many complaints. I generally get the salmon which is good. I've had the burgers and they were good. Just had one and it seems the quality of beef took a huge nosedive. Tough, chewy, with 0 flavor. Toppings were good, it was the actual burger that was terrible. Burger with a side of chips for $13. When I sat down in the massive outdoor patio on a gorgeous summer night, I thought nothing could go wrong. The advertised $6 pitchers and 39 cent wings added to the illusion. I had friends, an ashtray and a lazy summertime pace. Then the wings came. They were awful. I tried Cajun honey mustard and medium. Both were bland and oddly oily, like they weren't fried long enough and poorly sauced. And the $6 pitcher of beer ended up costing $9 because Blue Moon doesn't count as a domestic draft, even though it's listed beside the Buds and Millers on the menu. The server kept trying to push pineapple cake on us, even after told her we were loaded to the gills with food. On the upside, the atmosphere was great, the waffle fries were delicious, the service was oustanding and the beer was ice cold and served up with orange slices.
