This is literally the very first time, over many years and many different places in different cities that a "foot massage " means only that. One hour of my feet and legs to the knee massaged with lotion for one hour (actually a little less) for $75 with the tip have me less than overjoyed with my experience. I called ahead & was told I could be taken in when I arrived in 10 minutes. Then I was asked to wait for 10 more minutes, and then that turned into another half hour. Really, I should have left then, but my feet were really hurting. The tech was very nice, but spoke for some time to the other woman on duty. When they were done, the other woman made a phone call & talked very loudly. The massage was just ok. This is not what I want to spend $75 on. I'll keep looking for the perfect spot. read more

My wife and I went for a 2 hour couples massage. My wife's therapist was Cici and mine was Coco. Both were excellent, making sure pressure was good and we were both comfortable throughout our session. We both enjoyed our massages very much. We had not had massages for many months and TJ Massage reminded us that we should be getting them weekly. We will be asking for Cici and Coco again. No reason to go anywhere else. read more

I have been to TJ Massage twice . I'm conflicted because I had two different experiences. I had a different ladies each time . The first time I came it was an amazing experience from start to finish . I loved the technique used (I'm not experienced enough to know what it was ) and the mood was nice . I was in a room down the hall . I just knew I would be a frequent returning customer. This most recent time (today ) I feel like I was in a completely different place . This time I was in the first room to the left . The first thing I noticed that I don't remember from last time was the clock that ticked seemed loud over what was suppose to be the calming spa music . I could make the ticking it background noise so no big deal but being right by the front I was by the desk and door and I heard every time someone came in and also when phones rang . I wasn't happy about this . The technique used what not what I experienced the first time . It wasn't bad but I wouldn't want it again . If was more like pressure and rubbing than kneading . It was the last 15 minutes that was the most off putting . I turned over for the front massage to see that the door was cracked open . I wasn't necessarily mad because I knew no one could see in but It was unsettling. Maybe they were understaffed so she also had to listen for the front door ? Covid I get it . Probably explains why the room was a little colder than I would have liked . Once I get dressed and ready to pay my $60 for 60 minutes. I tipped $5 because honestly the message wasn't the best but I do understand tipping culture . Plus the card reader has a$2 fee which I understood. She looked at the receipt and said something along the lines of "I did a hard massage you don't want to tip more ? Make the total $72" I'm like ummmmm is the price more for a hard massage? She said something like "no I worked hard for you " and we stood there in awkward looks at each other for like 4 minutes before she just threw up her hands and handed me my receipt. Wtf was that ??? I'm so confused on how I had such an amazing experience the first time and then come back to see that experience varies by person doing the massage and that some of the comments about pushing for tips are true . I called and scheduled a 90 minute massage ahead of time. When I got there, they told me I was getting a "4 hand" massage. I felt bad that I had booked a massage so late so I agreed to the 4 hand 60 minute massage for more than the cost of the 90 minute massage I came for. One of the masseuses put forth very little effort, she must have been texting at certain points because there was just a light grip on my foot or leg for 10 consecutive seconds and she would go back to massaging. She also used almost exclusively one hand the entire time. She disappeared for about 3 minutes to asisst another customer who came in. When I got off the massage table I realized the massage had only been about 50-53 minutes, not an hour. I paid double the price of a massage that wasn't as good as most two handed massages. the only reason I gave this 2 stars is because I've been going to them intermittently for massages and they've historically been pretty good. I have tried A LOT of places previously, and have not gone anywhere else after my first experience here. They are very client centered, and will accommodate to your specific needs and schedules. To this very day, Julia (the manager) still asks for my input prior to the session despite me being a regular client. They do not assume, and will customize their service to your needs each time. Well kept secret in Bartlett! I yelped "best massages" in Memphis and this place came up. OMG, the best massage ever!!! You will not be disappointed with the service. Will make this a bi-weekly 9/21/19 Returned for a massage with Julia, still awesome! Due to vitamin deficiency my calf began to cramp severely. Julia did everything possible to make me comfortable. If you have body cramps you know they have a mind of their own. I booked a 2 hr session and an hour into my session the cramping began. Julia offered to hold me up as I tried to stand and work the cramp out. She placed the Chinese cupping cups on both my calves. She worked with me an additional 30 minutes and when I went to pay for my 2 hour session and the cupping she stated no you only got an hour massage. Very few places would not make you pay for reserving the extra time. I will be returning in two weeks! If you want awesome customer service and a great massage book your appointment!!! 'Knees and elbows'... if you have knots, she will find them. Stretches, hot stones and hot towel.... if you pay Cash they cut you a little discount.... about $60 per hour. Paid for a 90 min massage for me and my boyfriend. I don't like how they hassle you into leaving a tip which makes it super uncomfortable and awkward. My bf was in the bathroom while I was paying and they kept asking for a tip which my bf was going to leave once he came out of the bathroom. This place is awesome!!! Very simple and plain and normally I prefer fancy place for a massage but TJ Massage made me feel like a new person and got rid of all my aches and pains. I've been here twice after my first visit. I give the masseuse a 10 of 10 for how good tabs was. You have got to try this place. Julia is absolutely wonderful. She can provide many types of massage, depending on your preferences. She asks if you would prefer light medium or firm touch. I left feeling quite refreshed. You can get anything from deep tissue massage to a relaxing massage with hot stones along with everything in the middle. If you've never had a massage before I highly recommend you go for a relaxing massage first for the experience. My wife had a Terrible experience Monday when she went to receive the spa package I purchased for her. She was denied the sauna service which was part of the package. The manager told her she was "Too Big" to fit in the sauna room all while snickering and laughing @ her. My wife is a size 20, & the sauna is a portable unit. My wife asked was there a weight limit the manager said No, she didn't want her to hurt herself if the chair folded. If that wasn't an even lower blow still snickering in her face. This should have been discussed with her before she prepared for her services & it should have been listed on their website. They were Rude & unprofessional & they should have equipment to accommodate everyone they service. read more
