A great experience with the personnel at this store. Cashiers , front door LP officer and stockers are so helpful and friendly. It speaks volumes about the store management when three different employees today said they "loved working at this TJ Maxx" and noted great management when I mentioned how much they looked and acted like they loved their jobs. Big store but I didn't see much but it was a Monday. I was already in need for a new carry-on type bag then also needed a main suitcase as it just busted at the top (old). I scored a Large Samsonite suitcase on clearance deal for $60. I paired with with a cute Steve Madden carry-on or messenger bag for $19.99. What a deal?! The cashier that checked me out was nice and conversational. Great in a time of COVID where people are still friendly and personable. read more

I had a very pleasant experience today at Tj max, Homegoods. I was looking for Holiday coasters that absorbed water. Impossible. Found! The store is catching up! I have been in several times since Covid started and they were very under stocked. Today was much better! Staff gets 5 stars. They had every lane open and the manager was at the front of the store greeting her customers. I'll be back! read more

This is absolutely the biggest tj Maxx I've ever been in. Like, wow. Sparkling clean, huge store, insane selection of everything. I wish I could have stopped and checked it out for a bit longer, but we were en route to visit friends. The lines are a little long, but that's kind of to be expected given the size of the store + how many customers it attracts. read more

Jim, one of the managers, is absolutely so disrespectful to both the staff and the customers. I heard him talking poorly to one of the cashiers on multiple occasions, making rude remarks and overall stepping out of line. He also is not helpful at all in the Homegoods. He absolutely does not deserve to be a manager. read more

I walked up to the store on Monday (June 1, 2020) and every door was plastered with signs informing customers of the current state & local law that "Face masks are required to be worn while inside the store". I didn't even get down the first aisle before counting 15 people who were clearly NOT wearing masks. They didn't even have them around their necks. No effort was made to keep the public safe beyond printing signs which ultimately were NOT enforced. I left immediately without buying or touching anything. I'm disappointed at the energy used to print the signs and the CLEAR FAILURE to enforce them. I will not be back. If the intention is to ignore the mandate, please stop misleading the public with your foolish and useless signs. Very disappointing and irresponsible. read more

This is a very good store in Asheville. They have a very wide selection of furniture, cookware, shoes, & beauty clearance. In fact, I was really impressed with the shoe department. They had a wide array of styles in my size (10), which is usually not the case for TJ Maxx stores. I will be back! read more

I opened a card in June and bought $150+ worth of merchandise. They put $5 on the new card and $145 on another credit card. I paid the $145 right away but the $5 slipped off my radar. I didn't receive an invoice for it until the end of Aug. when fees were accrued and there was a balance of $14. I was out of the country and on my return in mid Nov., I owed $20. Meanwhile my credit score plummeted from the 800s to the high 600s. Because of the $5 that I never got an invoice for. On today's phone call, they removed the initial $5 late fee and I paid the $15 balance - the last time I will give any money to their stores. On the positive side, they closed my account which saved me the trouble. read more

The max for the min....hmmmm....I really just don't like it except that it is cheap and has lots of crazy food items like weird hot sauces. I for the most part avoid chains and often groan audibly when my wife takes me here. She promises a fast exit...and we usually get it. But I admit. This is by far the best TJ Maxx I've been to. So much to look at! Great place to find home decor. Of course it has the usual TJ Maxx stuff: clothing, jewelry, shoes but the impressive selection of home decor has got me like wow! Place is clean. The service could use some help. A few of the ladies seemed stressed and didn't handle it well. A lot of shouting orders and miscommunication. A woman went in the store before me without wearing a mask. I ask the check in lady if masks were a requirement. She said no. I turned around and left without turning back. I will not go to ANY store where wearing a mask is not required and not unforced. I am not upset with the people who choose not to wear a mask (I am passed that), but I am not going to a store where basic health issues are ignored by management. This is an inconvenience for me, but this is something I will stand for. read more

Bought a fan here, went home to plug it in and it was broken. When I took it back to return or exchange without my receipt, the manager told me they wouldn't take it back without the receipt- are you kidding me?! Horrible customer service, unreasonable managers not even willing to work with me after having drive all the way back out from Mars Hill. I love TJ Maxx. Always have, always will. I always froget that I can buy virtually everything at TJ Maxx aside from a bottle of wine, fresh veggies, and poultry. Their dry goods section is crazy! I always get my olive oils, coffee, and spices from TJ Maxx because, not only do they seem to taste better than a lot of grocery store brands, it is also discounted and looks fancy! The home section is out of this world! Every time I am in need for a new platter, wine glasses, kitchen tool, etc. I know TJ Maxx will have what I am looking for! They have tons of cool lamps, carpets, decorative furniture and even though I am balling on a budget, I can seem to find something that fits in my price range. The clothing is always a little stressful for me and you always have to try things on but I like how they are sectioned in size rather than style. Their workout clothes are my favorite thing. Athlezure y'all! The check out people are generally pretty nice and seem like they enjoy their jobs and I always leave feeling good! I never feel guilty about a purchase at TJ Maxx. I can literally go on and on ranting about how much I love this place but, no one wants to read a novel so I will leave it at that. read more

I hate doing this, as I work at the TJMaxx in Hendersonville. YOLO. was so sad with my experience at this TJMaxx. I returned a few items that obviously had manufacturing errors. The cashier agreed and said it would be fine if I repurchased them with the appropriate discount. Another cashier came over to offer assistance, and treated me like I was stupid for seeing the errors and wanting a discount upon repurchasing them. He said, "I don't see what is wrong so there won't be any discount." There were obvious manufacturing errors from the three items I had returned, but given that he was able to "fix" a crooked pillow briefly by pulling it out (trust me, I tried doing that at home), he behaved like I was making an inappropriate return based on nothing. I still wanted the comforter that went with the pillows, so obviously I tried saving the whole set, but it did not work. Sad and dejected, I had hoped I could just take the comforter home. It was special to me. I also had two carpets that I loved, but also had issues. I was too embarrassed to even show him those, and so I promptly left. Why was I treated like I was stupid? There were other issues that I assumed in his mind would have been senseless. Still, why would I bother bringing this whole thing that I clearly loved, if there weren't legitimate issues? I spent a whole hour picking out these three items. Again, it was obvious they were special to me, and I kept repeating how sad I was. If I had put it on his bed, he probably wouldn't have been happy either. She did not have a name on her tag, and he was so unfriendly I didn't even bother. I actually work at the TJMaxx in Hendersonville. I did not use my partner discount on this purchase as I did not want to overspend. It was that special to me. Then, had to give it all back. It actually hurt my feelings that he stood there like that. I hate to leave you guys such a review, but this experience and the other one, the rudeness was astounding, to say the very least. I'm not being passive-aggressive, I thought I would build an audience. I call it "cultivating a buyer's POV." That is what I do when the fish won't bite. I love TJMaxx, always and I always will. I had a great shopping experience in this TJ Maxx. I am a frequent TJ Maxx shopper back in Raleigh, New York, Miami etc but never received the customer service I received at the TJ Maxx in Asheville. I was looking for an item not always available in TJ Maxx and when I asked Sabrina at the checkout for help she had Alpha on one end of the store and Cassandra on the other scouring the place searching the shelves for me. What I was looking for was found on the clearance shelf within 2 minutes. I was so happy with what was there that I bought three instead on one to have as gifts for other friends. Pretty great store. Driving/parking in this area is horrendous, though. This store has jewelry (plus), accessories, and home goods. The prices on the home goods are expensive, but the jewelry and accessories (like socks), clothing and food is fair. Longer lines, but kind employees. read more
