Belk is one of the remaining anchors at the Asheville Mall. The have separate entrances into the parking deck and an entrance into the mall. Menswear is very well stocked with both casual and dresswear. Lots of really professional looking shirts and a spectrum of ties. With my keto-driven weight loss, I'm needing at least one more pair of work slacks that pack well and don't wrinkle in the suitcase. Good stuff here and some of the sales are better than BOGO. Yay, retail therapy! Finding a register or a store associate to point the way isn't always easy but that's a small hiccup. At least they're not constantly "bing bing bing" like they do in Dillard's! Was belk customer several years ago and got hacked so card cancelled.... when I tried 2x once in store and once on line to reopen...they denied because I refused biometrics. Was in system years why could they not find it....very unprofessional. Forgot the most important part FICO over 800! read more

I enjoy shopping at belk for shoes. I went in this morning with my set on a pair of Ralph Lauren thong wedges. Unfortunately they did not have them in my size but, I was blown away by Karen she was amazing. She was helping all of us at one time & did an incredible job. She went above & beyond to help me find a different pair of sandals but, instead of shoes I walked away with a smile. Thank you, Karen for being amazing! read more

This store engages in practices that violate FTC law by stating the "original price" of products are actually HIGHER than ever offered to the public. By doing this, they are then able to claim they are holding incredible sales, offering those products at a deeper discount than they actually are. Today, for example, I looked at their luggage. They claimed to be offering a 50% off sale, however the original prices they listed were 20, 30, even 40% higher than the base, non-sale price of the same luggage purchased elsewhere, thus making the actual Belk discount closer to 10-30%. This is a predatory practice to take advantage of customers and increase impulse purchases. Disgusting and a shame because the employees at this location are nice. read more

The employees here (that I have encountered) have all been 5 star! We are so thankful for those who still want to come to work! My check out sales person today was Nicki in cosmetics - what an awesome sales person! I wish the Belk store had a place to write reviews for their all their first rate employees. This location does not have many shopping carts. I always spend almost an hour trying to locate one and I can never find one. I check the entry/exits, dressing rooms, and I check upstairs. Sometimes I may find one in the parking garage but rarely. I found out today that all purchases must be returned to the department they are located in. I purchased three items on line for a total value of forty six dollars. All items were still tagged and wrapped in plastic. I had to go to the mens department and stand in line for 35 minutes to return a $16.00 shirt. I was instructed to take my other items to their location in store due to other customers abusing returns. I proceeded down the stairs to the handbag/scarf counter where I stood in line for 30 minutes and the clerk confirmed that all items had to be returned to location in store. She processed the return and directed me to the New Direction counter where I stood for over 20 minutes waiting on someone to assist me. I finally went to another counter and stood in line 45 minutes and I received my refund. I found the staff rude and unprofessional and not very helpful. I did have one lady smile at me in the perfume counter. While I was upstairs I wanted to check the price of an item that was out of place but both of the price scanners have been disconnected but the signs are sill above stating you may check your prices. I attempted to use the dressing room but the rooms were so filled with clothes thrown on the floor. One had a dirty diaper sitting on the floor and it appeared and smelled like some of the diaper contents were on the floor. The room I finally chose did not have a stool or chair to sit in. One hanging peg was broken the other full of clothes. I had to push the clothes on the floor out of my way. The carpet was dirty and had not been cleaned in a while. I felt like I was shopping at bargain flea market. For the size of the store it does not carry as much as some of the smaller stores that I have visited. This is not your normal Belk Department store and by far it is the worse one in the chain. I have been here on several occasions and I have never had a pleasant experience. read more

Great selection of name brands; enough sales clerks; clean dressing rooms; clean bathrooms. Extraordinary sales events; easy to make pmts. on Belks credit card...one of the few department stores that allow you to do payment transactions at the cash register. Sales clerks are helpful and knowledgeable. Liberal return policy. I like to park in the upstairs pkg. garage if it is raining; usually can find a very close pkg. space. read more

Grew up in Asheville but haven't been back 10+ years and needed a few items for everyone in our family. Belks USED to be a high quality store. Disappointed doesn't even begin to start. Customer service was non existent in all 3 departments I needed to go to and was on par with with gas station. There was only 1 shirt that was offered in my son's size. The girls/junior's department was a huge mess. Even when we were walking around the store, NOT a single employee asked if we needed help. I was truly disappointed and won't be back. read more

Today I went to Belk's with the intention of buying two Ralph Lauren shirts, shorts, a tie, and perhaps some other clothing. I have often shopped at Belks. However, today when I arrived at the second floor men's department I heard three Belk employees arguing about some other person who also works at the store. The level of negativity was such that I could not stay and decided to take my shopping elsewhere. I believe Dalton's has a full line of Ralph Lauren clothing. So, you just lost about $300 in sales. I spoke to the manager of the department but she didn't tell me anything I wanted to hear. I will not shop at Belk's ever again. The lady at the counter overcharged me and when I told her she would not listen started insulting me that it's maths and it added up. When I looked at the receipt she had charged the pants twice!! So annoying didn't apologize will not go there again read more

Aware that our Biltmore Square Mall location is closing in Asheville, but DON'T understand that all sales are final. You are NOT made aware of that until you go to check out after shopping for an hour or so. Being Belk across town is NOT closing, why can't exchanges or refunds be made at the other store? Clerk was very abrupt about NOT returning merchandise and drew a black line down my receipt with a vengeance. No reason for the attitude. Called the corp office to find the nice lady I spoke with had no idea of what was going on and told me to call the other store. Couldn't get through. Don't care to EVER shop at Belk. read more

I recently went to be ok to buy 2 pairs of boots. There were 2 employees working in the boots department, a female and a male. It was on Saturday Jan 6th around 1 pm. After picking out 4 pairs I liked that my size wasn't available I picked out one pair and asked the female sales person if she could check for my size she said, " I don't think we have it" and looked very irritated by my response which was, " do you think you don't have it or could you please check?". She stormed off and came back and said no they didn't. I worked for be ok for about 5 years in the mid 90's and I am very disappointed by my treatment as I was about to drop some heavy cash on 2 pairs of boots and instead left empty handed and feeling like I was a burden. Very disappointed in the customer service. I never do reviews but I was floored by this. I really hope there are changes made or belk will lose a lot of good customers. read more
