The checkout line is consistently the longest in Indiana, helicopters now circle with hourly updates on Karens, Katies, and Karmens hoping to checkout by Thanksgiving with their international chili sauce, uncomfortable chase, and rather adorable skirts. I am writing this review while now half way through the line after eleven minutes. Huge store with rarely enough parking, major issue on weekends knowing there is always a reason to check out the inventory but also making the eBay search far more appealing rather than fight for parking and camp out to checkout. Tons of brands here, prices all over the places with attempts to be quality but a lot of generic Walmart and Kohls style brands end up way overpriced, typical TJ Maxx. The trick is looking for the quality stuff and getting the deal. Burlington and Ross have been doing better for me this past year. Maxx needs to marry eBay so we can all win. read more

Normally, I would praise TJ Maxx for their quality and value of products and selection, but on this visit, I was very disappointed with the organization of the store. I went to find a piece of luggage, and I did find one I liked and at a reasonable price. I have always gone to TJ Maxx for luggage because they have great prices and a decent selection. The problem was the check out line was about as long as the security checkpoint line at the airport. It was ridiculous and not moving any faster. There were about 20 cashier lines from what I could see, but not all of them were open, which made no sense. This store connects to Home Goods, and they share the same check out lines. Still, all of the cashier lines should have been open. Maybe it was a short staff issue that the lines were not open, but it still does not explain the over a mile long line to wait to check out. I have never seen anything like this where you will have to wait an hour or maybe two hours just to check out and pay for your items. I cannot speak to the customer service because I did not interact with any employees, and hardly ever saw an employee throughout the store. It is safe to say that I will probably not be back to shop at this TJ Maxx for quite a while. I ended up leaving the store and putting the luggage back in its original location. I was not about to wait in line for over an hour for one item. If you do come here to shop, be aware that you may have to wait in line for a long, long, time on a busy day. This place can be a little chaotic but the potential for deals can make it worth it. On my last visit, I needed a belt and was able to get a nice brand on clearance for only $8. It can be hard to find an associate on the floor as it isn't always clear if they are wearing a lanyard or tag. They'll point over to a section if you are looking for something but don't necessarily have the time to help you figure out what part of the section it is in. The lines can be a little slow but it just depends on who is working. I've seen some associates keep the line moving and others take their time in between customers (with others still in line) to chat or laugh with some other associates not assigned to a register. It is what it is. It's still worth going for the deals. Just make sure you have plenty of time to look. read more

I always find something at TJ Maxx that I didn't know I was looking for. They have a lot of toys and children's books here, for really good prices too. This is a good place to go shopping for birthday and holiday presents! The children's clothes are hit or miss for me. I usually cannot find what I want in the sizes I want, and when I do, they're usually more than I want to pay. But everything is organized and clean, so it's pleasant to shop here. For many years T J Maxx was somewhat of a secret. Many people thought the clothing was of inferior quality, irregulars, damaged, etc. I have always shared that TJ Maxx and Marshall's were fantastic stores to shop. Well - those days of being a secret are over. It is very rare (unless you are there the first or last half an hour of opening or closing) that there is not a significant line. When I stopped in yesterday to make a return of some shoes I got on line, the parking lot was full, and the shopping cart corrals were overflowing (I had to move 3 carts in order to park). Several of the aisles were crowded with shoppers dominating the aisles. I had hoped to find a top(s) but found nothing of interest. I continue to feel that they have not carried as nice of a selection as they did prior to Covid closures. I joined the line that was quite long. Although they had 9 registers open; the line moved slowly. The shopping tips I can offer are; shop in the first or last hour of opening/closing, seniors can shop an hour earlier on Tuesday morning (although I've certainly seen some younger people shopping as well), if you plan on shopping but are making a return as well - shop first (guarding your items to return) then get in line, check out T J Maxx & Marshall's on line - the better merchandise seems to be available on line and you can return in store. They offer free shipping (enter the code) on $89 and over purchases. read more

I now recall why I don't shop here. I spent my lunch hour perusing the aisles for clearance deals and had a few items in my cart when I realized I needed to get back. I approached the front of the store and the line was wrapped around and backed up to the luggage and purses. SERIOUSLY?? I watched several people discard their cart and leave. I don't blame them one bit. I must've stood in line for no less than 30 minutes behind a toddler who was behaving better than I would have, had I had the opportunity to throw a tantrum. Damn! Really?! One woman behind me said, "Imagine what its like around the holidays!" No thanks. I'll take the discounts I found today and think long and hard before coming back. So not worth the hassle, especially when the lines are chocked full of crap for people to 'shop' on their way to the final check out. My patience was wearing thin as sweat glistened down my forehead, patiently waiting my turn for a cashier. #10 is open, chimed the line organization speaker (I'm assuming that's what they would call it). The slowest checkout line in the US, every single time I come. They should win an award

For the size this location could Def have a lot more to offer. The clothing section at this location isn't really the best, they have a lot of clothes but most seem to be in house brands from major department stores like sears, Kohl's or jc penny. Not as much from smaller brand stores and designer boutiques. The homegoods is attached at this location making it easy to browse both and only have to check out once. However the line is ALWAYS HUGE!! At least 15-30min wait time, which is insane. Many times I have set my stuff down and left simply bc I run out of time waiting or get tired of waiting just to buy my items. Old why that is either bc they usually have 15 lanes open for check out it is just slow and super busy always. The children's section for clothes and toys is really big and usually has good finds :) The food and kitchen area is nice too check them out for some great finds if ur up for the hunt on deals! read more

Pros: Definitely great, warm staff who are working the checkout lines--especially on a crazy Saturday afternoon! (On that note, never again will I be going on a Saturday afternoon). Also, the Men's section always has great items for my Partner! He finds something he likes each time we go. Cons: Parking is a nightmare since Castleton traffic is literally the worst. I'm so torn! I love TJ Maxx in general. And I love the idea of the Home Goods and the TJ Maxx together. Everything you could want in fashion and home decor together. Here's my issue with this particular location; there's only one checkout. This poses two problems. First the line is always very long. One weekday, non Holiday time I waited 35 minutes to checkout. That's just too long. Secondly, having both locations together causes problems with returning items. After said 35 minute waiting experience I discovered a problem with one of the items. I didn't want to return it to this location because of the wait. There is a Home Goods in Noblesville, an equal distance from my house. But my receipt said TJ Maxx so the Home Goods said I had to take it back at TJ Maxx. And when I walked to the TJ Maxx they said I had to return it at Home Goods because the merchandise was tagged Home Goods. In the end I drove to Noblesville for nothing and had to go back to this location and wait again (15 minutes) to return the item. Partly my fault for not completely checking the item but enough of a pain that I won't go to this location again. read more

I love this TJ Maxx. And I am a TJ Maxx/Marshall's connoisseur of many many years. This particular TJ Maxx and Homegoods is probably the best one I have ever come across. I will fill you in on a secret actually, when I was a stylist at a very, very high end retailer I bought the majority of my "on brand" clothing here. I also had many customers return stuff to us because they found the same piece or something of the same label here at usually less than half of the sticker price. That said, me stepping foot in here is inherently dangerous because there is never not several awesome high end designer pieces here at ridiculously reasonable prices. However, TJ Maxx offers an alternative for fashionistas on a Miller High Life budget by offering... wait for it... a lay away program. I know, it sounds trifling to even say it out loud but it is a totally awesome option and I am not afraid to use it as I have quickly wracked up several hundred dollars in stuff I morally could not walk away from in one trip. It is a one month program that requires 10% down for a mere fee of $5. For me, this makes so much more sense than putting it on a credit card that might tempt me to not pay off immediately. And let's face it. You're at TJ Maxx, girl. There is very little shame left in your game to begin with. read more

BRB I'm dying. This is easily the best TJ Maxx I've ever been to. I didn't even mean to come in. I was in Home Goods looking for curtains and to kill some time I walked over to check out what kind of deals I could score. And oh the deals I found! As a recent college grad, I'm not exactly rolling in the dough, but that doesn't mean I don't want to look like I am! They have designer deals for days. Fendi, Kate Spade, Vince, Marc by Marc Jacobs, Theory, Dooney and Bourke, Juicy Couture, Tahari, and more. I couldn't believe my eyes and kind of had a minor (but positive) anxiety attack from all the excitement. I got two pairs of clearance shoes: Isaac Mizrahi flats ($20) and Diane von Furstenberg heels ($39). The was also a Kate Spade bag that I fell in love with, but my wallet felt otherwise. Twenty-four hours later I'm still on a high. I can't wait to come back here to scour for deals!! So much love! read more

Something you'll have to accept about this location: there will be lines. But, be smart and take your items with you. I use that time to triple check to see if I actually need the items that I have with me. The best part of this is the wide variety of items that you can purchase here: clothes, beauty products (although it's not a huge selection here), kitchen products, food, home decor, pets, and everything in between. That's something that stands out the most about this location to me. Here's a fun game: do all your holiday shopping in the TJ Maxx checkout line. No really, you can get all kinds of knick-knacks for everyone on your list. From coffee mugs, to children's books, to dog toys and snacks. Personally, I don't have any transgressions about the long lines. I honestly think that's the smartest and most efficient way to design a check-out instead of having multiple long lines where everyone races to get to the shortest one. By keeping the people in one place, it keeps the other shoppers moving. I love that TJ Maxx is connected to Home Goods. I could spend hours there looking at allthethings. Their deals are hard to beat, too. I have a really hard time paying full retail (often because I call BS that it's really worth that much... it's not), so TJ Maxx and similar stores save my ass when I bite the bullet and update my wardrobe. read more

The selection at this TJ is as awesome as expected from a massive store. That being said, there will ALWAYS be a checkout line that is 10+ people deep at any given time or day. On the weekends it tends to move pretty quick since they have all of the registers going, but you should still budget a solid 10-15 minutes at least.
