TJ Maxx - My mom would like this - Department Stores Near Me - Cypress, Texas

Absolutely terrible service. I called 20 minutes before arriving and was told the items would be left at the jewelry counter for me because the employee was getting off soon. When I arrived, the employee at the counter was dismissive and unwilling to help, and management barely seemed interested in actually looking into the situation or contacting the employee who supposedly held the items. At that point, it honestly felt like someone internally may have purchased the items themselves because there was zero accountability and no real effort made to resolve the issue after I wasted my time driving there. This location consistently has some of the worst attitudes and customer service I've experienced at any TJ Maxx, which is disappointing considering it's the closest one to where I live. read more

10.24.24 I like TJ Maxx. I came in looking for one thing and found a few things I needed. I have been wanting a new comforter and I finally found one here. The price was great too. The only thing is the check out line. It was extremely long and did NOT move fast. It took me 20 minutes just to pay. They need more cashiers! read more

Customer service is very poor at this location. There was an extremely long line with two registers open. Both were shut down for a long period of time due price checks. Management was called multiple times and nothing was done to add additional cashiers to keep the line moving or even apologize for the delay. Poor management can be detrimental to any business. It was apparent the managers called did not prioritize customer service. People do not have 30 mins to wait in a line. It's unfortunate, but I will never return to this location because of this experience. read more

Peeping Tom situation: I went to this tjmax location on August 18, 2025. I had to use their changing rooms to try on some clothes. I was doing fine trying on their clothes until a male kid intentionally kneeled down on the floor and peeked under the door of the dressing room I was in. I was only in my underwear, all I could say was "hey!" and he ran away. I really thought this was a safe store. I found out that his mom was in the dressing room next to me and she got 3 male kids running around the changing room. These kids are around 10-12 year olds. I immediately informed their sales associate, and she told me she'll bring it up to the manager and that I can also complain to the manager myself. I was also able to tell the mom about what happened and she told me that the staff had already told her and that she's sorry. This uncomfortable and upsetting experience has shaken me up, I would expect tjmaxx's dressing rooms to be a safe and a private space for customers to remove their clothes to try on their products. Especially that they have two separate dressing rooms for men and women. I understand the staff tried to do what they can but this wouldn't have happened if unsupervised children are not allowed in dressing rooms. I'm aware that this review may or may not change their dressing room policy or the behavior of that kid but I had to bring it up to the staff and to his mom in hopes that these things never happen again. Y'all just keep getting worse and worse each time I come in here. Each time I have to leave my basket of stuff. Why is there 10 cash register and a line around the building of over 40 people. Why do we have to wait 10, 20, ,45 minutes one time as I was stuck in line. Stop trying to get us to sign up for your cards and ring the people up. Y'all wasn't like this until a year ago. Also why are the shelves empty of good home decor. I won't be back inside this store it's ridiculous. read more

Someone in the back asked if they would please get another cashier after 40 min of waiting , after another 10min I heard the cashier call over head for help and another 5 and still no help came. This is probably one of the cleanest TJ Maxx stores I have been to. The ladies that do the restocking really organize the aisles, and take their time setting up. This is my favorite location in the north part of Houston. I have encountered several helpful associates over the last couple of visits. read more

Some things are worth waiting for. Like a This-Season Michael Kors purse in perfect condition. So here's the story... I'm doing some shopping at Macy's Galleria. I fall in love with a gorgeous, sparkly gold clutch by Michael Kors. "No, Farrah. You're shopping for someone else - not for you. Come back later - perhaps next payday - and buy it. Maybe it'll be on sale." That's the angel on my shoulder telling the devil inside my to shop smart. And I listen to her. That same week, I drop into this TJ Maxx in Cypress after paying a visit to my sister's casa. I start checking out all the purses, and there, buried in a pile I see gold. Sparkly, shiny, handbag. It's a "the-heavens-are-shining-light-down-on-this-purse" type moment. I flip it over and see the MK label. SCORE. And guess what. It's less than half the price than at Macy's. All that was missing was the original purse case to store it away, but who cares? I also found a $300 pair of Giuseppe Zanotti black leather booties, normally $1K. TJ Maxx is right. If you think anyone in this store is going to assist you in any way you're wrong. One lady pushed between me and my cart and pushed my cart far from me having allll the room to go around me. And yes this was a worker not a shopper. And while leaving the alarms go off (I didn't buy anything) so I stand there with my crying son trying to leave and this lady at the cashier by the doors (she seemed liked the manager) just stares at me and laughs. Doesn't he even tell me if I'm ok to leave. So I'm staring asking should I go? And nope just looks at me again and laughs. Like what is wrong with people and just having decency and respect. This store SUCKS!!! And I love TJ Maxx!! I spend more money there than any other store!! Today They made us lineup and wait outside in 97° weather because the line INSIDE was too long - not that there was an over capacity of shoppers but that the line inside was too long! What??!! Get more cashiers!! Get FASTER cashiers! Social distance INSIDE where it's cool and air-conditioned. Waiting outside in the heat makes people grumpy.... yes ME, but I wasn't the only one!! It'll be a long time before I visit THIS store again. read more

Bad experience on Mother's Day 2018 at this TJ Maxx Cypress, Texas. Aaron a cashier who lacks customer service skills does not know how to count cash. No surprise as his interaction with me for my return and purchase was miserable. He kept $10 of my cash I. the register draw and then he said he gave it to me--turns out next day I called the store after management was supposed to call me the next day. Short story, my $10 were in the cash drawer. Good news, other TJ Maxx stores have better service--that holds true for Home Goods as well (FM529, Willowbrook, Memorial, W Gray etc.). read more

This is an "ok" store to shop at for random clothing items, name brand bags/ satchels and home items. The prices are somewhat competitive, depending on what kind of shopper you are. I'm a little upset that they don't have men shoes!!!! read more

I love the home department of this TJs more than the HomeGoods down the street! I spotted two chairs and asked the manager to put them on hold for me, and they did without hesitation. I came at the end of the day to pick them up, but I had my baby with me, and they were so happy to help load the chairs up in my vehicle so I could safely sit in my A/C vehicle with my infant. It's sad to say that you can't find service like this very often. read more

Regular store, I put a bed set for my mom in layaway. Had to be picked up by the 28th, slipped my mind. So I called to get a week extension on it. Called 3 times finally got store manager name Michelle Sutter #698 on 12/27/14. She extended it for 3days which I asked for a week. Finally got it after fighting with her, then she was so rude, rushing and she hung up in my face! How dare she.... I called back asked her for store number and I'm writing a letter to corporate promise you that! I'm spending my money their and you treat customers like that. Learn people skills. I had a terrible experience at this location. The store manager "Deerdra" was extremely rude. We went to buy a bicycle and asked to speak to the manager because the bike had a broken chain. We wanted to ask if there was one in the back but we were blind sided by her absolute disrespect and disregard for customer service. She literally walked away half way during our conversation and from the start had a belittling and condescending tone. I am extremely disappointed in this locations customer service and this is coming from a long time customer. read more

I am always extremely pleased with the staff here. I shop here often because I live nearby. Diedre, Sheniqua, and Jermaine were so helpful to me during one of my visits. I purchased a furniture piece that ended up not fitting in my automobile. I was quite embarrassed I must say. They tried so hard to help it fit, but in the end it was just too big...lol! They were so patient, so sweet, so kind and so helpful! They had the best attitude and helped this poor mama out greatly. They are great examples of what customer service is all about! They are always smiling and nice whenever I walk into this store. And Miss Violet always helps me out greatly...I'm always asking her questions and for her opinion. Love the staff here! read more

Absolutely immature and unprofessional staff members work at this location. Even the "clearance" departments have very expensive merchandise. I found a household item that I have wanted for a really long time at this store. I figured that since TJ Max advertises that they have lower prices than big name stores I was excited to find this item. The box was torn up and had no price on it. I took it up front, where the unprofessional clerk proceeded to shout to someone in the back of the store and hold the item up in the air. The other person claimed it was a certain price. The price she said that it was was much more than the major retailers who have his item. The store didn't offer to let me speak to a manager or anything, they acted very uncaring about it when I said their price was not correct , given it's cheaper elsewhere. I called corporate office and won't be shopping there again. Also, checkout times are unacceptable because there could be people waiting to the front of the door and there's 2-3 cashiers.
