I got a few gifts for my neice for Christmas. When she opened her presents, two things needed to be exchanged. The service here was lacking. It could have been a lot better than it was. The selection was ok. We had receipts, but the manager here gave us an attitude for the exchange, which bothered us both. This is one of the cutest stores in the Galleria and not necessarily just for tweens. This store is beautifully lit, on trend and merchandised to perfection. You literally want to buy one of everything and wish that working from home was still a thing. At this location you can find the trendiest sweatshirts and beautiful seasonal items. Right now it's all about flannels and shackets. If you're a fashionista make some time to spend in here so you can catch up with what's trending on Melrose, Malibue and all the other cool hipster cities. As far as service, there is always super friendly staff folding shirts and jeans throughout the store. PRO TIP Tons of 80's concert tees (TLC!) and Britney merchandise. Have trouble finding the constantly moving tee shirt displays? Just look up and you'll see them hanging from the ceiling displays. read more

Store is ok. I mean I like to walk in and browse cloths for my sister. Not for myself. I don't think that style of clothing fit my age group. Anyways, it is a very big spacious store. Nice things to look at. They do have other brands like Adidas or Calvin Klein etc. Just have to look. Prices are so so. But its probably because its inside Galleria mall thought too. read more

Yes, I hate the lines here. Yes, it's pretty messy here, thanks to the high volume of traffic this store gets. Yes, the layout is very icky and generic - something UO does NOT stand for. But the manager here - O-M-G! When I couldn't find a cap to exchange for my size in any of the Houston stores (and even in Miami), I told him and do you know what he did?!? 1. Checks up availability in locations across the COUNTRY 2. Calls up a store in CHICAGO 3. Conducts an exchange over the PHONE (and even dealing with differences thanks to sales tax differences) 4. Arranged for FREE shipping to where I'm staying!!! Seriously, all this in the busy Christmas season - who would have thunk?! He made my shopping so much easier and better while all being polite, helpful, and overall just plain great! Top-service isn't really known for stores like these (if it was Chanel, I would expect it) :) Just because of him, he helped earn this store an easy 5 stars. read more

I used to think Urban Outfitters was the cat's meow back when I was in high school. I also thought red eyeshadow smeared all over my general area was really freaking fashion forward (wasn't it???). But I digress. I don't know why I mentioned the red eyeshadow bit, I think because I bought that particular red eyeshadow from Urban Outfitters back in the day. Oh memories! Anyway I still nearly always stop by the good ole' UO whenever I happen to be strolling about the Galleria. I definitely feel like a little obtuse and old enough to be everyone else's mom when I'm strolling about, but somehow I manage to push through. I guess I'd describe the offerings as boho chic + scenester? UO seems to carry the few same lines, such as BDG and Kimchi Blue, maybe they have dedicated distribution to UO? There's also Levi jeans, Converse shoes, and the like - your usual stables when when dealing with urban fashion trends. UO also offers a mess of coffee table books, random home decor, and accessories - something for everyone. While the items aren't priced nearly as high as with its sister companies, Anthropologie and Free People, things here can get a little pricey for what they are (somewhat cheaply made garments for the most part - sorry it's true!). The back right area is forever well-stocked with sales items so be sure to allocate some time to rummaging through that stuff. Given that this location is in the Galleria, it can get quite hectic and crowded. Extreme patience is required during the weekends. Lines for the waiting room may induce maddening frustration. Just chillax brah! Flip through a coffee book or two! The salespeople/cashiers do always greet you when you walk in, but mostly keep to themselves thereafter. They're always quite the colorful people, like literally and figuratively. I really feel like this place is more of a 3.5 stars, but since I do end up always perusing the inventory here (although not necessarily purchasing anything) every time I'm in the Galleria - I must like this place - I think? read more

Can I just complain to everyone about how must I dislike this store? Mostly because I feel old when I go in (and I'm freaking 24 years old!!), but also because they've steadily increased the price to such staggering amounts, I'm not sure how all these "young people" are affording things there. There was a time, long ago, when I could go into Urban Outfitter and not have people stare at me. Now, with my non-torn jeans, normal haircut, and no visible tat/piercings, I look like a freak in there! People that spend way too much time trying to look like they just rolled out of bed are not the friendliest (nor the most helpful) of staff. I can't remember the last time I went in there and someone offered to help me or to start a dressing room. The sole saving grace (and what won it that extra star) is all the fun books they have. I mean seriously, they are amazing. I spend about 40 minutes last time looking at a book about all the church signs in the 50 states. Awesome. There were a few that were laugh out loud hilarious. Course the books are ridiculously overpriced as well, so I didn't end up getting it. read more

The Urban Outfitters here is quite spacious. The staff here are nice and approachable. The items here are overpriced, though. I saw a "dress" with less fabric on than a mini skirt that went for about $80...what a rip off...there were, however, deal such as $20 for two hats, not too shabby, I guess.. I LOVE UO! If I could redo my whole closet, it would be filled with UO clothing and accessories. However, I haaate how over priced everything is: I mean, a little bralette with no support can be $39??? I don't understand it, but every once in awhile I treat myself to something that I really want. Quality of all the clothing I've purchased from there has been great and I've even gotten some little jewelry storage from there that I absolutely love. In my personal opinion, a lot of their stuff while similar items sold in other stores (cardigans, tshirts, hats), the style is one of a kind. My issue with this particular UO location was to do with one particular employee. I am by all means not trying to be a complainer, but I hate when people are just rude, fail to do their job, and complain about it in front of customers. It ruins my day--I know, my problem ;) The cashier I had here today (short, dark haired, caramel colored skin, young woman with winged eye liner--I have nothing against winged eye liner I just wanted to be specific) was just a complete bother. I went up to pay for two items. When she rung it up, my husband questioned why it was so much and I said something about taxes and when he looked to her for help she said nothing. Now usually when this happens with a customer, the cashier will read back the prices of the items...but alas, she stood there and did nothing. In fact, what she did do is ask another employee (I assume was the manager) if she could take her ten soon. After which she was clearly irritated that he didn't answer her and that she was still behind the register helping me. But her lack of customer service does not end there my friends! Once I ran my card through and signed the electronic pad, I waited for her to hand me my receipt. She snapped saying, "Can you finish???" I looked at her with widened eyes and said calmly, "According to the screen there's nothing left for me to do". She back paddled and tried to make up for her snippy attitude. My husband and I looked at the receipt to make sure everything was rung up correctly and realized that not all the bralettes were marked $18 so I had made a mistake in assuming that this particular one was $18. Don't get me wrong, I did make a mistake, but while my husband and I deliberated why the cost was so high before I paid, she could've spoke up about the prices of the items that were rung up. Fortunately, a different employee was more than happy to exchange the expensive bralette for a cheaper one and put the difference back on my card. read more

Such a cute place, but do I really want to spend $60 on a tank top that feels like it is going to fall apart in my hands? When I come in here I rarely look at the non-sale items. I go straight to the back where there are tons of racks of clearance items. Something has to really catch my eye, but then I look at the price tag and I don't think its worth it. I have found a couple cute things here but you must dig. I do love all the fun accessories and gag gifts. The workers always seem nice and helpful. But this is not a store I MUST go in while in the Galleria. read more

This Urban Outfitters location was well-organized and clean! Product shelves were stocked and clothes were neatly sorted. They had a huge sale on clearance/sale items so I would definitely recommend to visit now while you can, considering Urban Outfitters carries pricey and higher end shoes and clothes. While the store may be on the expensive side, there are things besides clothes that fit all budgets such as the gadgets/hobby items and cosmetic section. I deducted one star because of the lack of staff that day when I wanted to checkout. I waited in the checkout line for a while before I was noticed. This Urban Outfitters is tiny. It had hardly the cool stuff that the larger ones have. I was trying to find a gift for a friend and I couldn't even figure out where anything was because it felt like everything was just clothing. Finally I saw that all the trinkets are back behind the mens clothes. Why they are there, I don't know. Nothing in this location really makes sense. I might be biased because I've been shopping at the two story one in Austin on the drag for 6 years and that one is just SO amazing. But I'm in Houston now and if I'm going to go to Urban Outfitters, believe I'm going to the one on University instead. read more

Larger store than the one in the Village. Great store for the hipster or funky tshirt crowd. However, unless their stuff is on sale, I often find it to be overpriced. $30 for a tshirt is a bit high. If you are lucky though you can find something you like and in your size in their clearance section, where they do have good buys. We all know that UO is overpriced so this is a review based solely on this particular store. Compared to other UO stores, it seems that this particular location does not have a wide variety to choose from. They don't have very many items that are online. Just the usual dresses, mini skirts, shoes, candles, and half shirts. The staff never seems to be happy. There must be a problem with management. Other then that, this location is clean and the dressing rooms are efficient. read more

I've shopped here many times before, but I will not be coming back. The staff and even the manager here have no idea how to handle simple situations. The register froze during my purchase. Instead of just writing down my transaction number and letting me be on my way, they made me wait there for 30 MINUTES for the register to unfreeze! After 30 minutes, I had to remind them that I was still waiting and they ended up ringing up my order again. If you were just going to do that anyway, then why the hell did I have to waste my time? If that's not bad enough, it ended up charging my card twice. I called the number the manager gave me in case this should happen and waited on the phone for forever only to find out that he accidentally gave me the number to a moving company... After I searched up and called the correct number, the manager told me I have to go back to the store to get the extra charge removed. Seriously?! All this trouble just because you couldn't write down my transaction number! read more
