Every time I come to this location it is so dirty and everything is all over the place. I really don't understand why the store is in such bad shape compared to the other location! The floors need sweeping and they should get more people on the register, the selection here is a hit or miss. I've found decent items on several occasions but it's not worth the hunt. The store is a mess and it never looks organized. They do have a decent selection of home items and shoes from time to time but other than that, it's not much at this location that I can recommend. read more

if i could give this place a negative star rating i would. my boyfriend and i were in here around 11am, spent $200+ on clothes, beauty items etc. my boyfriend purchased 2 jackets and 2 sweatpants. when we got home he tried on the items and realized that they left a sensor tag on the sleeve and realized a pair of sweatpants did not fit. we figured when we returned the sweatpants we would ask them to take the sensor tag off. WRONG. the lady at the counter claimed we did not purchase the jacket when we were in the store a few hours prior buying them, then went to the back to check the cameras with the manager? or someone on duty. who then came out extremely accusatory and rude telling my boyfriend to "be honest man, these are not the same clothes. you didn't purchase these clothes today" mind you, we walked INTO the store and were greeted by the loss prevention guy standing at the door. the "manager?" then told us to "just leave" "just get out" etc. extremely nasty to the both of us when we were just trying to return sweatpants and get the sensor off. i truly have never been treated this way in my life and neither has my boyfriend. it was disgusting and extremely disrespectful for no reason. i would understand if we didn't walk in with the clothes but where we else would we have gotten them? i am writing this to avoid this happening to anyone else & hopefully reach some of the higher ups at TjMaxx to let them know their employees at the Outer Loop location are, i'm sure, not what they would deem hospitable and kind employees. read more

Used to be a great store ...but check out time makes it not worth it any more. 4 cashiers and a line backed up all the way to the wall on opposite end of store. One employee who did nothing but announce how much a customer saved by signing up for a card if they did..the clerks name and an annoying woo hoo..thevtime to apply for card only made the bad situation worse. 45 minutes is too Longstocking wait to give someone your money. That being said it is a decent discount store that has a wide variety of items that are marked down for some kind of flaw or sometime different reasoning that they have cheaper things. Out shopping for home decor and popped in here. There were lots of folks in the store and not a lot of staff, so very long lines to make a purchase. There are many good bargains to be found but you have to look. We did find a couple of things we wanted (A vase and a small table) but the lines were just too long to want to wait. When I have more time I may return and take my patience with me. Located in a strip mall so parking not an issue and good prices and selection. read more

One of the local stores. I believe it is smaller than some of the other stores. Store is always clean, well lit, and usually has a decent amount of staff. Be kind to them - most are teenagers. They don't know about the brands you are searching for! Came in the other night for a planner and found them in two sections - score! I got one for $3. Tons of name brand clothing on sale. They have a section for just about everything. Men, women, housewares, children. Even weird crazy food or coffee beans!! I call this place, "that place that has the cheap leftovers." This is where I go when I leave Target, have forgotten something I need and don't want to go back into Target. I spend a lot of time and money at Target. I can't make extra visits. I come here for random stuff cause that is all you're going to find but you should come here if you are bargain hunting or if you want stellar people watching. Emily: make people watching a category of the Yelp. If you're looking for a staple item or something unique this bargain shop is the place for you! They have a little bit of everything and a few things nobody needs but perhaps are fun to have. If you're a shopper who plans ahead this can be marvelous for you. I've shopped here a few times, each time I think how do they pack all this crap in this space. If you are willing to dig through the racks or shelves it may be worth it. It's section, specifically Boys is really tough when looking to buy underwear and socks, it's just a cramped area. The shoe section needs more shoes and the styles are not all That cute. They have a pretty good purse and jewelry area. I think if it were a larger space or they had less stuff it might be a more enjoyable experience. read more

I am going to preface this by saying that I never review anything, and when I do it's only good things. I know these people are just making a living. But I felt really insulted today when I went to buy a candle with a clearance sticker (6.00). The original price was 7.99. When I get up there she starts typing numbers into her keypad and accusatorially tells me that it's the wrong candle and that she has to charge me 7.99. There were like 5 more of this scent in the clearance aisle, so I said no; there are more of this scent back there. She sends the manager (i assume) to look at the prices, and what do you know-- I WAS RIGHT. So i wait for 5 full minutes just to be told that the price... that was on the candle... was right. Why would I try to scam you out of 2 fucking dollars? Weird interaction and I don't know what about me set her off that I would have tried to scam her out of a couple dollars. So weird. read more

I really like this TJ Maxx. Though it is smaller than the Breckenridge and Westport locations, the organization is usually an "A". I am always able to find what I am looking for if it is in stock. I am not a clothes shopper here but I do love to peruse their purse, makeup, Body care, candle, organization, storage, kitchen and bathroom areas. I am pretty much always going to see a few favorites in stock. None of the selves are crowded and most items are organized by color and use. Last night I went in for looking for some black velvet hangers (which I found) and two cedar shoe shelves (which if you think about it is an excellent idea for hallway and master closets. Which gave me the idea to organize my sisters closet as a gift. I also want to mention the staff, they are always friendly and professional during the checkout process and the lines are never the length of the full check out area as they staff very well and their are usually numerous cashiers. A decent discount or close out department store. There is quite a bit of discounted name brand clothing here (discontinued items, last season's items, or irregular items). Clothing doesn't bring me in as I usually don't find anything to my liking. I like the mixed bag assortment (and large assortment, I must say) of housewares, bedding, home decor, and kitchen items. Some prices are good, while some prices don't really seem "discounted" as they advertise. It's a discount store, so I don't expect much, but this chain has other locations in the greater Louisville area that have a slightly better appearance. I never go out of my way for this store, but when I am in the mood to go on a browsing spree in the centrally located, retail metropolis of Outer Loop, I usually include this store. read more

It is a bit smaller of this specific store than I am used to but there was still a great selection of everything, and like I said really clean and organized. I love to stop here for shoes, but sadly left empty handed, but I will for sure be back. read more
