If you know me, you know that 85% of my wardrobe comes from TJ Maxx, and I will literally tell you the price to the cent of what I paid. I'm definitely a Maxxinista! I was told to check out this spot, and while I've got a few locations closer, I was not disappointed. I had a thai-themed party that night, and found a pair of cute thai-like pants to rock. Other purchases were a muscle-sweater shirt (I literally wore it for two days in a row, it was so soft), an adorable fan that looks cuter than it works but whatever, and some other little things that I absolutely don't need but love to have. I also love their small furniture section. I have a mirror that doubles as a jewerly case, and they had one in a nice faux wood finish there that I'd suggest to anyone looking for a multipurpose piece of furniture. Check out here was swift, and the store (for the most part) was well organized and clean. My only complaint is the quality of the things you might find. My thai pants were washed once and have already ripped (womp womp, maybe just hand wash). Definitely worth a visit to find oodles of things you may not need, but want at a steal.

I was pretty bummed when TJ Maxx moved from it's previous location near my house, alllll the way to Algiers. It takes me 10 whole minutes to get there! Since I found myself in the area, I decided to stop in and check out the fancy new digs. The store is located in an entirely new complex and everything is fresh, new and organized perfectly. The store is HUGE, so I can't really blame them for the location change. TJ Maxx has everything from clothing to purses, jewelry and housewares. Since it was nearing the end of October when I stopped in, naturally all of the Christmas stuff was on full display- from wrapping paper to holiday scented candles. I've always liked TJ Maxx because the items here are well priced and actually nice and not of cheap quality. The staff was also super friendly and were sure to ask if I needed help, which was extremely appreciated. Although I didn't buy anything, the check out lines weren't too long and all registers were open.

I woke up like this! Flawless,,,, Every woman should feel moved to say those words when they get out of bed every morning. It sets your mood for the day to be filled abundantly with all good things. Well, today, I woke up like this..took a drive to the new TJ Maxx and had a great time shopping the unbothered racks and empty rows. It was like ahhhhhhhh... I can breathe, clothes. Wonderful. No worries about the lady pulling your shirt or scoping out your situation to see if you will buy that Kate Spade. No I did not buy her but was darn tempted. I really like the labels of handbags. You never know what you will get. I bought the cutest everyday bag. Also, career wear has alot to be desired but great start. I would like to see more pencil skirts and blazers in this section. The swimwear section was non existent. Come on, son, dead of summer and we don't have any threads to wear on the beach? I know yall will get it together. The furniture seemed contemporary but I did not have time to price it. I also liked the little girls clothes... The sale associates were very nice and just seemingly happy to be there. I was impressed that this store came out with a BANG... KEEP THE STAMINA TJ MAXX. Great Job,

Keandra R.

I knew it was a bad idea when this TJ Maxx moved from its old location to its new spot in Algiers...(Bad for my wallet...good for TJ Maxx). It seems I can NEVER just pick up lunch and return back to work without stopping to browse and see what kinda treasure i can find. Well today was no different. Stumbled in and found this gorgeous yellow Jessica Simpson luggage set! So excited. I get everything from here....dishes, favorite green teas, sunglasses that Michelle J from BR always inherits, clothes for my niece, and perfume...basically EVERYTHING. Its a one stop shop. Stores still in new condition, employees always on hand, but they are still working out some kinks I guess because things are always in a different area of the store when i visit. The only thing that i can say is a bummer is that parking lot is soooooo far away from the actual store. So there's no such thing as a good parking spot. And who needs that with this summer humidity.

It was everything that I expected. Well stocked. Friendly people. Clean. The occasional crying baby. I loved it.

There are so few cashiers, and the wait can be annoying when you only have a $6 candle.

I just got hustled big time at Aldo in the Riverwalk Mall. Throwing out a l'il caveat emptor for my…read morefellow shoppers: BEWARE THE INSOLES. This story begins on Black Friday, as do so many tales of shopping woe: I realized there was a black-platform pump shaped-hole in my shoe wardrobe and set about remedying that with a cute selection from Aldo's website. The shoes arrived; they were sexily, vertiginously high-heeled, yet work appropriate. I could see them lending a hint of stripper-y charm to a white blouse and pencil skirt ensemble. Unfortunately, they didn't feel equally smitten with me: They tried to slip off my feet with each step I took. To the mall I went, armed with a receipt and a valid request for an exchange. "Did you try putting in an insole?" the sales lady asked brightly when I told her the shoes were too big. She whipped out a couple insoles, as well as some kind of sticker deal for the back that she assured me would keep the shoes from sliding off my heels. "These just don't fit. I need another pair," I told her, wondering why she was so invested in keeping me with THIS particular pair of heels, like she was a marriage counselor bent on keeping a couple together, even though half of the couple is abusive (The painful shoes half). I picked out a similar pair, one that I hoped would be my sole mate (sorry). "Here! Let me put some insoles in there for you!" She whipped those puppies in place before I even had a chance to test out the shoes. "How's that? Need another insole for the back?" "No. This is good." Reader, I bought them. And though I flinched a little when she revealed the price, I assumed I'd accidentally pulled shoes that weren't on sale. And when she said my coupon wouldn't scan, and asked me to come back and use it on a future in-store purchase, I agreed, even though I knew I wouldn't fight the Riverwalk crowds or the Crescent City Connection before the coupon expired. In so many ways, I allowed myself to be hustled, and that's exactly what happened. I take some small pride in the fact that I declined the second set of insoles. Because when I examined my receipt, I saw why the total had been so high: The insoles cost $8.99. So - moral of the story: Insoles at Aldo are expensive add-ons, but the sales people won't tell you that. Also, my new pair of shoes turned out to be torture chambers. I'm going to try to unload them to some poor sap on eBay. See how the chain of abuse perpetuates itself? Maybe we can end it, one review at a time. One can hope.

Ms. Anna's process of trying the garment on and measuring/pinning is super quick and efficient. She told me that the dress would be ready in 2 days (and even accommodated me as a squeeze-in client because she and her family were gearing up to travel back home for a couple of weeks in 3 days). I was very grateful! She gave me a prompt call to confirm that the dress was ready, and I scooped it up and loved the length. She even steamed the dress for me (because as with most online orders, it arrived in a bag super wrinkled). I got so many compliments on the dress, and I believe the petite-girl alteration was the perfect touch for my look!

( night before wedding ) she took my measurements and said she would have to remove zipper and add more material and place zipper back . She went above and beyond for me. My dress was perfect. Anna works alone due to wanting things to be perfect she rather do it herself. When I dropped off my dress she hadn't had a day off in the last 3 weeks. Hopefully now she can get some rest in .. definitely earned a forever customer here .
