This is a big TJ Maxx store with plenty of parking. They have a big men's section with the usual shirts, swimwear, pants and other discount items you should expect. As in every TJ Maxx, you'll find some good products but also lot of low quality stuff, t-shirts with their collars stretched out, etc. One thing that annoys me when I visit this location (which doesn't happen at the nearby Bayonne, NJ location) is that when I want to try something on they have me hang the stuff, count, and once I'm done they repeat the same process again. I understand this process if I'm holding multiple items, but sometimes I have just 2 and they can clearly see I'm holding 2 items, but they work like robots. Also, they charge for that low quality paper bag if you need one (the Bayonne location doesn't). So, just to summarize, if you want questionable quality clothes for a good price this is a store I recommend. But if you want long lasting clothes that will survive multiple washing cycles, that will fit well, be very thorough if you're getting them here and try them carefully before purchasing or spend a little more at a higher quality store. read more

I don't have the patience needed for this store. I can come at noon on a weekday or at 3pm on a Saturday it's slowwwwwww. Today I ran in here and Tis the Season where someone is loudly arguing with a worker and the line is down towards the back of the store and the woman behind me has no sense of personal space! 'Tis the Season. I moved an inch she moved 5....I'm trying to be on my best behavior so after waiting 15 mins on line and barely moving I gently put down the hair dryer and Bronners soap and ran out. Store is super pretty this time of year with all of the decor etc. Lots of cute little gifts to pick up but I just couldn't today. You would think on the weekend they would have all registers running with people ringing customers up, not the case. read more

Asked for help today in the evening at the jewelry department. This lady over the counter looks at me with the only attitude points to signify she's talking to someone else and says she will get to me. I wait a couple of minutes to be assisted. It was clear she had no intention to assist me and brushed me off. As she continued to laugh and help other clients. Unacceptable. I completely feel like this was racially motivated. read more

Great bargain store, you def. need a good couple of hours in here to browse around the different sections to find some good things for great value prices. They sell from clothes unisex and children, shoes, bags, house ware, kids and even jewelry. LONG lines at times so best to come early and on weekdays plus you can find parking close by even though its huge parking lot. read more

This store is a dump just like the other TJ Maxx location on SI. On a good day there are still clothes all over the floor and broken home goods thrown about. Be careful not to step on broken glass or a small child playing in the middle of the floor while his parents shop nowhere nearby. I have to say, my experience at TJ Maxx this weekend was the best I've had ever! I have been a TJM shopper for 20 years. However, I decreased shopping at my local TJM significantly. The new manager, Ruth (not sure, maybe Store Manager) is the nicest TJM staff member I've ever encountered at that location. She was everything a customer could ask for. I asked her for the price of a desk and did not expect much work to be done with helping me but this time I had the assistance of Ruth. I not only received the table for $12 less than expected but Ruth was attentive, friendly, knowledgeable with the merchandise, professional and easygoing. She juggled 4 customers and helped us all. She was pleasant with a great wide smile. Her eyes even smiled. I could tell that she liked helping people. Hopefully, gone are the days where the previous manager (I believe she is Indian) acted like it took her last bit of strength to help. Or she would look at you as if you were not worth her time. I had issues with her willingness to help certain individuals - if you know what I mean. Any way, Ruth was very friendly to everyone. Someone from our group who waited for Ruth to help us even asked her for a hug! As if we were all shocked that someone friendly and willing to help was a real person. I have been coming to the TJMaxx stores on Staten Island for 25+ years and usually find great bargains. Lately, that has not been the case. The one on Forest Ave. is now Both a TJMaxx and Home Goods, thus the selection of clothes, shoes, luggage, bags, etc have decreased significantly. The home good items are usually not displayed well due to the small size of the store and often damaged. The two stores should remain separate or the store space must be able to properly accommodate the items . To add salt in my wounds...I placed 4 items on hold and return to get them as I was assure that they were on hold. I arrive and they could not locate my items. The staff person did look in. A few locations, but to no avail. I look through the racks again for the two dresses. The one was it there and other the size needed was not available. Not a happy shopper.... It 's really more of a miss than hit now! read more

I spend hours in this store because you have to dig for good finds. I only shop in the home goods section and they have a lot to choose from. The prices are great and things are always marked down even lower. Things are thrown about and some items don't have prices so that's a hassle. I've bought home decor, a yoga mat, pillows, frames, stuff for my dog and books here. The clothes section has decent stuff but too messy for me to delve into. I like this location a lot better than the Hylan Blvd one. Don't be intimidated by the long line, it goes super fast because they have a lot of registers open. I love looking at all the things they put along the line that you can grab and put in your cart while you're waiting. read more

In a neighborhood of virtually no decent shopping, this store is a welcomed change. This location doesn't have the best clothes or shoes for men or women. However, the housewares section is pretty decent. This is my go to spot for unique candles that normally cost $50-60 for $20 or less. I've also gotten quite a few towels, an awesome ceramic pie dish and some other houseware stuffs. The location is crappy and the lines are long but they move pretty quickly. read more

I love this store. Been shopping here for almost a decade and what stands out at this TJ Maxx than other ones I've been to is the jewelry department. It is outstanding, with collections ranging from Invicta watches to Betsey Johnson. Moreso, are brands you've never heard of but beautiful styles and so much to choose from. They carry costume to very fine jewelry, and I've not seen this anywhere else. You can only buy the jewelry there, and buy anything else at that counter. The fact that there's only one person, max 2, working there is a bit frustrating because you have to wait your turn until the customer is completely done. The pieces are fantastic and very reasonably priced. They also carry children's and baby's jewelry which is great. The rest of the store is like your good old fashioned TJ Maxx, you have to hunt! But there are great finds to be had, all through out the store. They have lay away, and a terrific home goods department in the back. I always find great accents and gifts back there, and for damn cheap prices. You can get good clothes and shoes for everyone, not all factory rejects, in fact it's very rare. Overall, a great store, a bit disorganized, but not worse than other Marshalls or TJ Maxx like stores. There's a parking lot out front, easy to get a good spot, and the plaza has other great shopping stores for women and children mostly, so you can easily zip around when you're in that consuming mood. read more

So many great deals this store is dangerous bc I can go in looking for one thing, but somehow wind up staying for hours and Leaving with everything but what I came in for. There's always something interesting to find here, and the candle section is my favorite. I hate that they are always understaffed though, as the long lines can sometimes discourage me from shopping there. They have a wonderful purse selection, but the shoes could be better. The store could be more organized, but it's a variety discount store, so I naturally don't expect much going in. read more

I love the home goods section!!!! The store was kinda of messy, that being the case I did find an awesome leather storage bench. It was like finding a diamond in the rough. I love this store! Sadly, it's rare that i purchase the items that i pick up. Every time I'm close to checking out i look at the line and have a change of heart and just leave the items on the nearest shelf and walk out. TJ Maxx never fails me with the 2 registers that they have open and the 50 customers waiting to checkout. read more

Clothes wise, I'm not too impressed. They used to have better stuff but now it's as picked over as the stores in the other boroughs. Plus the furniture is way too pricey. I did find these funky blue tumblers last month for $6 in housewares and I always enjoy browsing the cosmetics/toiletry section. Totally disorganized but I've found some real steals. My faves have been the Ole Henriksen blue black enzyme face mask for half the price they normally sell at Sephora and this all natural deodorant made with lavender that smells really good and works pretty well on normal days. I also have that shopkick app so I sometimes come in here just to score the extra points! read more

I go here and will leave with at least 5 items every time. The stuff they have is amazing ! Name brand good for half the price. The house department always had many cute things to decorate. If your on a budget while decorating, this is the place to be. Scored Martha Stewart tubber wares for $16. About 10 came in them with all snap locks for secure them as well. You can get a Steve Madden bags here for about $30 -$50 original ticket can be $200. Same for Michael kors. The clothes section happens to be a mess. You have to dig for what you need. This place got recently some change, though clothing department is horrible, they have made effort to bring up new line of contemporary arts of over the world. I really loved there Hand crafted decor collection from India. The place is now worth visiting if you looking for something extraordinarily crafts. read more

Great prices, the customer service seems to be changing, I actually had two employees ask me if I needed help, that's never happened before and I shop there all the time. They have great home goods finds and I buy my toddlers clothes there because they are affordable. read more

It really is like downtown Beirut like the comedian Sebastian Maniscalco said. There's clothing/etc. everywhere. You'll find men's underwear scattered in the women's department. It's a mess! But similar to a thrift store you have to be patient and search the place thoroughly for good finds. I've found some good stuff there. Cute blouses for $10/$15 bucks. They have great costume jewelry too. They have a cute trinkets too. I got myself an iPad cover for 3bux and batman headphones for 5bux. read more

Absolute terrible selection. I went there to get some sweatpants for my sons. Can you believe they didn't carry a single pair? I asked one of the employees where they had men's sweatpants, and he said somewhere in the men's section if they're there. Terrible, I will never be shopping here again. I was in TJ Maxx this morning at around 12:30 am and witnessed a customer discarding clothing items on the floor. She was Hispanic and when the young lady (no name) informed her she would have to pick up her items she(Hispanic) began to berate the worker. The young lady walked away and in Spanish (I understand) both her and the man with her said they were going to say that the worker cursed at them to the manager. She did not. Might I add she was black. The customer is not always right and I sure hope the manager was able to see thru that. This place is a mess by the way and needs constant patrolling of the floors, shelves and sections to make sure that everything is in order! read more

For men, this store is borderline terrible. No shoes, no suits period. The shopper for the store must think men either live exclusively in track suits and jeans, because that seems to be all they carry. Avoid - no deals to be found here, unless you need staples like t-shirts, underwear, socks, and the occasional pair of pants. Even the ties and the belts are of low quality. read more
