We ate here twice during our stay at Stonewall. The first night I had a mushroom panini that was really good. The second night I had one of their focaccia pizzas which was delicious! I have no complaints about the food. Service was extremely slow and there were very few people in the restaurant on both dinner occasions. We waited a considerable amount of time for our food and then for the check after. They also have a poor craft beer selection. I really wish it was better. Is there a way to get some local variety on tap?! UGH. Come for the food, not for the drinks. read more

I've been here a lot-a lot over the years and most of the time it's always subpar service with overpriced drinks for the area and what you are getting and especially for a WV State Park and Resort that should be trying to entice locals, state residents, and travelers from abroad, but needless to say I come back again and again for the whole experience of the resort. This place is just a part of it, but with that being said I wish it could be more consistent and have better selections, drink specials, and at bare minimum a happy hour. Why no happy hour, what??? Anyways, my last visit here was very nice. It was Valentine's Day and we wanted to stop in and have an appetizer and a couple drinks before heading out for dinner. The waitress was great. Probably the best I've ever had here. She was nice and friendly and did a great job with service. We had the Cranberry & Brie Boule. Plus I had a Space Dust IPA and a Blue Moon and my girlfriend had an Angry Orchard cider. Their selection here has been the same for years so don't expect to get some of the great craft beers West Virginia breweries have to offer. Which I think is mind boggling. Please make it a point to add them for more beer sales and to support West Virginia breweries. I love this place in general. As the resort has wonderful amenities but this place could always do better yet I am glad we had a nice experience on this day in particular. Enjoy :D read more

Good service, flavorful food, and reasonably priced! We visited TJ's three times during a recent stay at the Campground, first at the bar, once at a table, and then a togo order. We were pleased with our meals each time. Sitting at the bar was great as the bartenders were friendly and fun to chat with! This was especially nice since one of them was a fellow bourbon fan. I was surprised to see such a good selection of bourbon in a remote place as the Stonewall. Nice selection of local beer and craft cocktails also. We sampled several food items from the menu. The smoked nachos were loaded with toppings. THe Hog heaven pizza was unique with the combination of sauce, cheese, and pulled pork, but was a nice change to regular pizzas. The highlight (and ordered twice) was the Muski burger! This chuck, brisket, and short rib combined burger was cooked perfectly and was delicious! Kick back at the bar at TJ Muskies and enjoy the conversation, food and drink. read more

TJ Muskies Bar & Grill is a sports bar that is located inside the Stonewall Resort. I attached two photos of the menu, so you can see the types of appetizers, entrees, and desserts that they sell. I thought that the prices were high for the quality of food. My husband and I were staying at the resort for a few nights, and we felt tired of eating at the same restaurants over and over again, so we decided to try TJ Muskies for one lunch. We sat wherever we wanted. Soon a friendly waitress took our order and brought our beverages of water, sweet tea, and pineapple cider. We felt very surprised that the "short" cider was in such a tall glass! My husband did enjoy the flavor of the cider. At the end of the meal, the desserts took a while to come out. Here are my reviews for the foods: Crab rangoons - 3 stars - The crab rangoons were a bit overcooked, and they could have contained more cheese and crab. I liked the sweet chili sauce that was on the side. Caesar salad - 3 stars - My salad was half croutons! Way too many croutons! I had ordered a size of small, and the plate was a very generously large size. The lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, and dressing were fresh, and the chicken was juicy. Cuban sandwich - 3 stars - The bread bun was toasted perfectly. My husband though that the pulled pork, ham, Swiss cheese, pickles, and sauce tasted alright. The French fries on the side were perfectly crispy. Lemon mascarpone - 3 stars - This cake had a strong taste of lemon and was topped with a berry glaze. Baklava - 3 stars - The plate contained three decently sized pieces of baklava. The phyllo dough could have been flakier and lighter and covered in more honey. Bar and casual dining at Stonewall resort. Ate there twice for lunch. Had a Cesar salad with grilled shrimp. Unremarkable. Expensive. The salad was $12 and the shrimp (4) was additional $10 or so. Second time had their 304 panini which is essentially store bought pepperoni on toasted focaccia with some kind of spread. Not sure if it was supposed to be pimento cheese or what. Sandwich came with fries that could have been fine if they had been left in the fryer long enough to get crispy. Worst thing about the place is the service. First time I had to go looking for a server as there was no one working tables or tending bar. When I found someone they told me it would be a few minutes as they were busy. There was one other table with 5 people in the place. Disappointing, will not go back. read more

The food was good. The servicer was a nice lady. However, Tables were dirty I cleaned / wiped one down to have a clean place to sit. Another couple had to do the same. Waited for 10 minutes to be recognized, she coughed the entire time she was talking our order. I didn't see her wash her hands before getting drinks. Ice scoop was in the ice bin. Had to ask for silverware. Had to go get silverware after asking for it. After coughing into her hands she touched the rim of my husband's coffee cup and asked if we wanted a refill. We were there for our anniversary to have lunch Stillwater's was closed-that was a Thursday afternoon, due to the servers poor hygiene we were sick for four days. This caused my husband and I both to miss work. I do not have sick time at my job-so in theory-the meal cost me 2 days of pay and the price of the meal. My family ate here during our one night stay. We ate outside on the patio. The staff was nice enough. But the food was incredibly overpriced. Now we've been to a number of resorts and expect inflated prices but hopefully with decent food. I ordered their burrito. I told my wife it was fascinating as it wasn't terrible, it was more like an experiment of someone cooking Mexican food who has never had Mexican food in his life. It was edible and it looked like a burrito but it had no hint of Mexico in it. The best thing was probably my sons order of $20 buffalo wings which were perfectly average wings that anywhere else would be half the cost. The other reviews warn people to eat elsewhere if you have the time. I would concur.... Below average food at an inflated price. read more

Servers were new, and inexperienced, but tried. Our order was incomplete, and/or wrong/overcooked, but not completely terrible, we asked for waters and didn't get them. Manager comped our drinks and one meal, but it didn't make up for the incompetence, I would not go back. read more

It's 8 bucks for a beer, glass of wine or poorly made mixed drink. When you come in for a conference or with friends, you are going to want to have drinks and socialize, and this price is their way of saying "we have you, you aren't going to want to leave to drink so we can charge what we like and you'll still pay it." Don't get me wrong - I have no problem paying a lot of money for quality alcohol. Let's say I go for a gin and tonic. For four bucks I would want to pay for one that is simply that - gin, tonic water and a lime thrown on top. For eight bucks I want a tonic that is not sickedly sweet, but instead citrusy and well rounded. I want the lime to be crushed or infused into my drink. I am looking for crisp and refreshing, not "I'm drinking alcoholic christmas tree soda." The same goes for beer. When I am out, I am willing to pay a venue 250% of what the beer's initial value is, and nothing more. I had a beer and paid 600% of it's initial value. Not cool. read more

Burgers, Appetizers, and general bar food. Atmosphere is ok, view is spectacular on the lake. This bar is where the late night crowd generally congregates at Stonewall Jackson Resort. The service, regardless of how busy they are, is really slow. Probably would have given it at least another star if it was anything but what I experienced both by myself and with a large party. 3 1/2 stars. Went a few times over a 3 day period at the resort. Drinks are decent, BLT and the brisket sandwich were both good but not great, overall not greasy and reasonably priced for portion sizes. Ask for fries to be extra crispy. Also spinach salad was a strong choice. Staff was very friendly and professional. Acoustics are terrible- it can get really loud when crowded. View is stellar and you can take your drinks outside to enjoy lakeside. read more

WORST SERVICE ever! We were traveling back from NC and wanted to stop at Stillwater for a romantic dinner for our recent engagement and couldn't get in, so we went next door to TJ Muskies. Food was just ok (average at best), ordered soup and sandwiches and they came out together after a 30+ min wait. We should have left after waiting 18 mins JUST to order our drinks. Then after waiting over 15 mins with our bill (paying by CC), and our waitress nowhere in sight again, I pulled out cash and we left. Spent almost 2 hours in that place for soup and a sandwich. Miserable experience. Do NOT recommend!!! read more

We called the front desk they stated that Muskies was open til 2.. went down to the bar and the lady said "NO we close at 12, last call is 11:30!" Slow!!! The food was good but not worth the aggravation of waiting so long. My kids grew tired and annoyed. Dairy Queen in Weston would've pleased everyone better. Burgers were slightly better than a food chain. For the price though, I'd rather have McDonald's or Dairy Queen. I'd have to be really desperate to go back. My first time here was the first night of a two night stay at Stonewall Resort. The atmosphere is nice and the fireplace in the center of the room made it feel cozy. The service, however, was painfully slow. We sat with empty drinks for a lot of our visit. The place was not overly crowded, so I'm not sure why. Since this was a romantic getaway, we just tried to relax and make the best of it. The following afternoon we headed back to kill some time before the big new years eve party. Again we experienced the slowest service I've ever experienced. I ordered a burger with lettuce, tomatoes, and gouda. After 30 minutes I received a burger with barbecue sauce and fried onion strings. They apologized and brought me a new burger. This one still had barbecue sauce under the cheese. They clearly just wiped the burger off. In the end, the server did give us a discount, but forgot our final drink order. Currently sitting here waiting for a drink since there is no other bar in the resort. read more

Total ripoff! free pool table, nice atmosphere though. Ordered wedge fries, was served cold curly fries (low portion). They said they were out of wedge fries. We had to awkwardly ask for more ketchup 3 times cuz they give you little cup of it instead of bottle. The Muskie burger was decent but sat in my stomach for a while kinda too juicy I guess, dunno? My daughter ordered an $8 kids spaghetti marinara and received a soup cup size portion, let me repeat, $8 for a small coffee cup sized bland angel hair pasta, totally unreasonable for the price. Politely complained and was offered a second cup at no charge, came out as tube twisty pasta (no consistency) regardless (thank you manager). WILL NEVER EAT THERE AGAIN, would rather spend $40 more (family of 4) for buffet stillwaters, a bigger ripoff but is really good food :) read more
