Our first morning in Nashville called for a hearty breakfast before scouring the area for our next…read moreplace to call home. We weighed our options and ended up visiting Nadeen's Hermitage Haven based off of the positive reviews as well as wanting to visit somewhere local. Nadeen's is charming inside and out. The parking lot is small but there were plenty of spots open on a mid-week morning. We were greeted warmly and sat at a booth. Nadeen's feels familiar and comfortable. Our waiter was fantastic the entire time, he was gracious and hardworking. My husband ordered the Southwest Scramble and I had the Farmer's Skillet. Both were delicious but we both agreed that mine was the better of the two. The biscuit was baked perfectly and was so fluffy. The gravy and potatoes were delicious, too. Our coffee cups were never empty, either. Not to mention, the coffee here is really good! We will definitely be back!

I will say the drinks were strong. I accidentally ordered a margarita instead of a Bloody Mary so my wife drank that. I tried it and it was strong. I ended up getting the single bloody instead of double and glad that was the case. The food was good. I had the Diner Breakfast with cheese scrambled eggs and country ham. It was a big meal, so much I couldn't finish everything. My wife had the southwest scramble which was something right up her alley.

When I told my son we were taking a little weekend road trip to Nashville he asked for only one…read morething: pastries from Five Daughters. He had them on a previous trip a couple years ago and they obviously were so memorable it was his only request. On our last day before heading home to NC we got out early to be there shortly after they opened so we could have the best selection. I don't know how anyone leaves here with less than 6 of their delicious pastries. We got 6 regular and 6 mini versions. We took the box and immediately sat outside to take a bite of each regular one. Wow! I remember when the cronut became a huge thing and I took a trip to NYC to try them from Dominque Ansel Bakery. They are delicious. These from Five Daughters truly are so so good too! Plus they have more variety and I don't need a plane ticket! The service is very friendly and they didn't rush me making my choices. The interior is bright and welcoming and although they don't have any indoor seating there are some tables outside to sit and enjoy your treats. 10/10 I'll be back when I'm in Nashville or near any other Five Daughters locations again.

The maple doughnut had half of it filled with a gritty cream. You could feel the granulated sugar in the cream. It was a bit strange and unexpected. I'd pass on getting it again but the flavors were delicious. It is a popular bakery so order early for the best selection!

We were in the area getting coffee and I saw the great reviews for this place. I can NEVER turn…read moredown a pastry, so I talked my husband into stopping by here to get some goodies before we began our drive home. I'm so glad we did! The space is a little narrow but gorgeous, with lots of nice natural-feeling light and an open and airy feel. You can see into the bakery and there's a nice display with all the available pastries. Cute merchandise adorns a few racks and shelves (it took a lot of self control to not buy a sweatshirt!). The way the line works conflicts a little bit with the entrance but it moved quickly enough to not be a problem. We got a tahini brownie, an espresso chocolate chip cookie, and a coconut and orange scone. Of course, they also sell beautiful breads and some small meal options like paninis and granola bowls. It all looked delightful. Service was very pleasant and patient. The lady in line ahead of me wasn't being very kind to the workers and speaking to them in a very demanding tone, and they handled her with grace and professionalism. They were also working cohesively as a team to ensure quick service. All our treats were yummy. My surprise favorite was probably the coconut and orange scone. The glaze on top was sweet and pleasantly crackle-y and the flavors were balanced and paired perfectly together. The espresso cookie was also balanced and super yummy; espresso and chocolate go together for a reason! The tahini brownie was fun to try and wildly gooey/rich as promised by the addition of the tahini, almost too much so for my preferences. It is SO fudgy, lol. Definitely very pleased with the whole experience. Give them a try if you're nearby!

They have limited seating and not many areas to plug in devices. I'd suggest coming with a full battery prior to diving into work. I had a lemon blueberry muffin and the Son of a Nutcracker drink. The coffee was delectable the notes of burnt vanilla and lemon surprisingly blended well! I downed it in a few short minutes. It paired well with the lemon blueberry muffin which was moist and delicious.
