Thank you Dr. Bury for your expertise correcting my Carpal Tunnel compression. This was, in hindsight such an easy procedure. I would encourage any one who is experiencing this problem NOT to put it off!! I was back to work in 3 weeks in a VERY hand dependent profession.My symptoms continue to improve. I had a professional relationship with Dr. Bury for several years. He could be mercurial. When he would lash out, it was totally inappropriate. At one point, he was very angry with the staff of an outpatient surgical center of which he had a financial interest. They were absolutely shaken from his behavior. I read the reviews about Dr. Bury before I made my appointment but I decided in spite of the negative reviews that I would make up my own mind. The negative reviews were correct. I went to see him for a second opinion about hand surgery for arthritis. He does hands as well as some cosmetic surgery. He was abrupt and almost rude, as was the lady at the reception desk. What I understood from this doctor is he doesn't quite care about the patient and their needs as much as his wallet's needs. Let's start with the fact that his door was locked and I had to knock multiple times. Another patient then opened the door for me. The girl who was in the front looked at me funny and instead of checking to see if the door was locked herself, she requested I do it for her.... Rudely. His front staff doesn't know what they're doing. They tried to overcharge me my copay. Luckily, I work in healthcare myself and have access to run my own insurance and was able to show them that they tried to charge me $15 more than what my copay is... When I showed this to one of the front office girls, she apologized that she couldn't help me because she was new to "this". When I asked how long she was working there she answered.... 7 MONTHS. I don't think it should take that long for a person to learn their job, and if it does, maybe you need to hire a new employee. Her coworker, the rude one then came to refund me my money and recharge the correct amount. I came in with complaints of a ganglion cyst. I specifically asked the doctor for local anesthesia but he insisted on general. I told him I'm unable to do general due to my high out of pocket and I know the procedure could be done under general. He kept making excuses when I finally got the real reason out of him.... "The surgery will take too long". REALLY? It's going to take too long so that's why you don't want to do it???? It's not about what the patient needs, it's whats most convenient for him - as little amount of work for as much amount of money as possible. read more

Dr. Bury is a extremely competent And well trained not only in Certified board hand Surgeon but a board certified plastic surgeon! I think some cosmetic patients come with this expectation of make me perfect! They are so unhappy with themselves nothing will make them happy! Dr. Bury does not botch surgeries! If you need an experienced, competent and skilled surgeon, Dr. Bury is it. I lived with bilateral hand pain that escalated to the point I could barely write my first name, without resting my hand. No kidding! As a medical professional, Dr. Bury was on my radar, but I checked with everyone I knew. It was a "go" from everyone. I had my surgeries over a year ago and couldn't be happier. My recovery was, virtually painless, controlled with over-the-counter meds. With physical therapy, my hands are strong and I'm doing great. If you're wondering, the scarring is minimal, barely noticeable. Dr. T, as he's affectionately known, is not only a great hand surgeon but does beautiful cosmetics. I had hand surgery with Dr. Bury. I had a bone spur on my knuckle of my ring finger. It was painful to move my finger, and my finger was swollen. Dr. Bury ordered x-rays of my finger before surgery. Dr. Bury and was able to show me the bone spur on my finger. After Dr, Bury performed surgery on my finger, I could not move my finger even after a few weeks. Dr. Bury told me it takes time to recover and my movement would return. After several months of pain with no improvement, I decided to get a second opinion. I went to a leading hand surgeon with a university hospital. I showed him the before x-ray of my finger. I then had a post-surgery x-ray taken of my finger. The doctor explained as he showed me on the new x-ray that the bone spur was still evident on my finger. The doctor informed me that tendons in my finger were severed during the operation. I will never have the use of my finger. read more

I was referred to Dr Bury by my GP for the anchovy procedure. I trusted my GP, my initial visit with Dr Bury left me feeling intimidated, he was arrogant and seemed in a rush. My concerns were brushed off because he has been so successful. I scheduled my surgery and made well aware of my financial responsibility. Had my surgery, after I one week went to see him, due to my over use because of work, I caused the pin to move and had an abbess . Dr Bury made it clear that I messed up and pulled the pin out, prescribed follow up that did not align to my situation . For one year, I was on disability having to see him every month. He never questioned the fact that I was not healing properly, he didn't take an X-ray or look further until I presented him with the fact that my thumb could move. He diagnosed me me with trigger thumb and proceeded to tell me I would need to have another surgery, at the time I had no insurance. Long story- Dr Bury does not care about his patients that challenge his arrogance. 2 yrs later, I have no control and lots of pain in my right hand. I'm shot out of luck because this Dr doesn't make it right. STAY AWAY read more

Dr. Bury's office is nice and so are all the staff. He is extremely good at everything he does. He operated on my finger and did such a good job I referred all my friends to him. Since he has done surgery on several with excellent results. I did not have any problem with insurance. I gave them my medicare card and my supplement card which paid 100%. They never ask me for money. I am thinking of having him to a face lift in the fall. I think he would do an excellent job. read more

I don't know what's up with this office, but this has by far been my worst experience with any doctor or office. First of all, isn't bedside manner still a thing? I was hoping to get treatment or in the very least some sort of medical advice or guidance rehabilitating an injury. My visit summed up in one word would be "hostile". He made me feel dumb for going to his office and he certainly made me feel like a waste of time. I got injured on the job and he flat out cut me off after I introduced myself to ask if it was a workers comp. situation cause he "wants to make sure he's getting paid". Sure, I understand, but also, you don't have to be a jerk about it. That was how the appointment started off, which I guess set the tone for the rest of it. He kept saying "I can't cure you" which I wasn't even asking lol but he kept saying it. I've never wanted to get up and leave in an appt. until now. I was just looking for some sort of place to start, just to see what I can do. But he made a minor injury seem like this impossible task that was overall a major inconvenience to him. So he pawned me off and gave me a referral for physical therapy. Side note- if the case in this situation was "you're seeing the wrong type of doctor" shouldn't that be the medical office's place to step in and clarify before wasting mine and the doctor's time? Anyways, I had to call their office to request a new referral that was open ended/on a blank rx like most places do, since the one that he gave me is to a specific institution that isn't in my area. The representative on the phone seemed bothered from the get go and told me "he wouldn't do it" and that what I have will work cause it's worked before. Alright, thanks for not being helpful at all, or even kind about it. Dr. Bury's terrible attitude seems to be rubbing off on his office. Just save your time and stay away. I wasn't impressed with Dr. Bury. My general feelings were I was wasting his time as he so graciously gave me 15 minutes of his time. I felt the pages of paperwork were exhausting. Dr. Bury performed surgery on my left thigh several years ago, removing a very large tumor that had grown under the muscle. I will begn by saying that several years ago my husband had a growth removed from his hand by Dr. Bury and the results were excellent. No scar. I have no doubt that Dr. Bury is a competent surgeon. That said, my experience over the past months has not been as favorable. My 95-year-old mother suffered a broken finger in January of this year. I took her to see Dr. Bury to determine the extent of the injury and what could be done for her. An x-ray revealed that she would not require surgery. At that point Dr. Bury authorized physical therapy. I subsequently took my mother to physical therapy appointments every week for months with check ups by Dr. Bury every 6 weeks or so. Those appointments were always quick and cursory. He would ask me to remove whatever splint she had on at the time, take a quick look at the finger, and send her back for more therapy. After her Medicare benefits for therapy were exhausted, Dr. Bury told her she had "graduated" and sent her off to live out her life with a permanently bent finger. At least she isn't in pain, but I certainly never got the impression he was much interested in her case. I'm sure elective breast augmentation pays way better than Medicare anyway. And about that office staff...the woman who mans the front desk is as rude as they come. On one particularly hot afternoon, my mom was feeling a little dizzy as she got out of the car. After walking her into Bury's office, I asked the receptionist if she could get mom a cup of water. She flatly refused. What doctor's office doesn't have a sink and dixie cups and can't spare a glass of water for an elderly woman? Really? I was told by the physical therapist that Dr. Bury has cut back his hours and is nearing retirement. Given his attitude and that of his receptionist, I think it's about time. Dr. Bury is a brilliant surgeon. I recently underwent two procedures on my right hand that gave me motion and dexterity I haven't had since the age of 6. I cannot possibly say how incredible his skills are. The office is run in an extremely efficient way with rarely a long wait time. He goes so far above and beyond and he tackled what three other surgeons wouldn't even think about attempting. His staff Mallory and Brittany always have a smile on their faces. The first time I had to have stitches pulled Sally wondered in and kept me distracted. She too is a truly wonderful lady. Dr. Bury is a rare surgeon who will accept a challenge and prevail and my situation was for sure a tremendous challenge. I wouldn't recommend any other hand surgeon. Impossible to do. I may even get him to do a few "minor" cosmetic hmm we can call them touch ups. As far as I'm concerned there is no other in his league. read more

Dr. Bury's office requires patients to pay up front with a credit card EVEN if the patient has insurnace coverage. In our case we have had to carry over $800 in credit card debt for over 3 months and we still have yet to get a refund out of the Doctor's office even though they acknowledge they have received full payment from our insurance company and we have proof that our insurance company has paid all the bills directly to the good doctor. The office staff was not helpful in resolving the matter indicating they couldn't do anything. BE AWARE you will have to provide an interest free loan to the Doctor in order to use his services, and you will have to fight with the office staff to get your money back from them. read more

I consulted several surgeons for breast reduction and chose Dr, Bury. He is a true physician, no fancy, glitzy, showey office like alot of plastic surgeons. His staff is extremely professional and courteous. He made me feel at ease and I had complete faith in him. He listened to all of my concerns and addressed all of them. I read the reviews on a lot of sites before I even called the office for an appointment. No one likes to choose a bad doctor. I saw the most recent one and got a little worried because I have insurance. When I called the office every single person I spoke to was nice and sweet. They put me right in for an appointment took my info and it was that easy. When I got there for my appointment, I was greeted with a smile and a nice hello. I have never been in such a quick, efficient doctors office in my life. I love the girls. I paid my office copay and did the paperwork. And in went to see the doctor. So amazing. He was so fun and interesting to talk to. He has done great things and he spent time with me answering questions. I of course had to have surgery. So when they asked me for a payment before the surgery I was confused. Both girls explained it multiple times to me until I understood it. I appreciate them being so patient with me. Insurances now adays don't tell the truth themselves. No matter how many times you call you get a different answer everytime. I give the girls props to having to know and understand all the different policies and not only that when the insurance provides them with false info that makes it difficult. The office only collected my responsibility which was my co-insurance. Anyways...When I made my payment surgery was just as easy as the visit. Everything was set up as the nice girl had said so. Ok warning !!! my surgery was the worst experience I have ever had in my 71 years..including all you go through with cancer. I had surgery for a simple trigger finger.. Doc Bury was rude and acted like he hated being there...he proceeded to not fully use medication to put me out..so I completely felt the serious pain when he cut through my muscle when I screamed in pain he cut a second time without stopping to add additional pain med..my blood pressure went up to 190...I could have had a stoke !!!! The nurses in the surgical center were amazing & were very concerned about me..Bury walked out after the procedure and never saw him again !!! Horrible experience !!! never even asked if I was ok..after 2 months my finger & palm was still swollen & hurt so I went to see another wonderful doc. He was shocked that Doc Bury did not fully put me under to do the surgery.. I give him a low grade as a Doctor !!!
