TLC worked for a longtime family friend some years back when she had cancer, and now for her son who is fairly young (under 50) but who needs 24/7 assistance due to emotional and physical limitations. I can't explain just how amazing the aides are, who are now working 12 hour shifts to help my friend function and find some sense of normalcy. Right now, he has Joseph, Kamilah, Jennifer, and Shelley, who have each treated my friend extremely well and who have been very good caretakers for him. Their help has been tremendous for Charles (and by extension, to us, his family and friends). I'm very impressed with Joseph and Kamilah in particular because they go above and beyond anything he or I could have asked for. In the brief time we've known them, Joseph has been studying up on Parkinson's to be as helpful to my friend as possible and understand just what his symptoms do to him, and he and Kamilah try to help him relax when his symptoms act up (which is often!). They handle over a dozen different sets of meds and really have my friend's best interests at heart and I can't thank them enough. We are so appreciative for all your aides do for my long-time friend of 22 years, and now my charge as power of attorney. I needed to get care in the home for me my ailing Mum and after researching and calling a couple of other places (who never called me back), I called TLC Companions and Janeen has been a lifesaver! She is compassionate, kind, professional and caring. She got me night aides immediately, and I can add in aides during the day when the time comes. Jose is terrific in Accounting. He handled the Medicare/Long Term Care insurances (very few took the LTC insurance) and until they kick in to pay them directly, he promptly invoices each week. Their assessment form is very detailed and they have audit trail systems in place. It's very well run, with systems in place to ensure paperwork is properly recorded, etc. I feel so comfortable with Nikki in the home. My Mum adores her, as do I.
