Kalman Contracting has also taken care of our lawn, built a new raised garden bed, continues to care for the new landscaping, installed new gutters, fixed some internal minor repairs, and is continuing to exceed our expectations. I do not think there is a task this company will NOT take on or isn't qualified for. Prices have always been fair, and communication has always been open. Kalman Contracting is reliable and trustworthy. Prior to starting work Richard came over, provided and estimate and stuck to it! He did not try to upcharge or change rates when starting work.

I'm SO happy to have found that particular plant at TG, along with a couple succulents that I had been thinking of buying. They even have some carnivorous plants (pitcher plants, etc) that I hadn't expected to find (you usually only see venus fly traps, if anything). I also purchased some succulent soil (because every time I buy soil from one of the big box stores, it has some kind of massive fungus gnat issue - wtf), and I used some that night for repotting other plant - no gnats! YAY! Pleasant service as well, and the overall setup of the place is clean and easy to navigate. Really enjoyed shopping here.

It's a beautiful place from their amazing indoor tropical greenhouse, featuring HUGE tropical plants and a koi pond, to their wide selection of plants, and even their incredible outdoor venue (where I've known several people have gotten married). It's lovely. Their plant selection is better than most in the greater Binghamton area with prices to match. I'm the type who likes to browse all the plant shops, but this one is hands down my favorite, if not also because their staff are always so friendly and knowledgeable. If you're coming by the area for a visit, it's a nice place to stop if you're the type that enjoys botanical gardens.

"The customer is always wrong". Hillside insisted I pay a bill for about $280 from November 2022…read morethat they knew was incorrect because it included pruning that was not done. Owner Jim Hoteling in March 2023 told me that my failure to pay their bill raised "a red flag". He refused to send a revised bill and refused to restart service. Subsequently, I estimated the cost of the work that entailed blowing leaves that I myself missed as $150, sent Hillside a check for $150, and hired another landscaping company. Note that back in November I contacted Hillside that their bill was incorrect, but received no response. As I told Hillside, I am the sole caretaker of a terminally ill husband. Hillside's work was average but I wanted to keep them for the sake of continuity in my life of upheavals. I begged them to send a correct bill and restart service. I find their insulting and dishonest behavior to be sick.
