I wrote a google review but have the need to let as many people know my experience and warn them. It used to be that the lasik businesses had to make sure that you are a good candidate for this procedure, it's not the case at the place. they just obvioulsy want to get paid and whatever happens happens. The person that initially made me sign all the paperwork for the procedure actually said the words "You will walk out of here with 20/20 vision". She is not a doctor but for some reason I believed her. I walked out after the surgery with blurry vision which I understood was normal right after surgery so I was patient and waited for weeks. After several visits I was never allowed to see the doctor (Leon Aleksandrovich) that did the procedure even though it was clear that my vision was not ok. I asked for him but was told that he doesn't see patients after his procedures! I have never heard of this. I still need glasses and can't see well when I drive. It was always a random person doing the "follow up". My vision never improved and at the last "follow up", another random person told me to come back in 6 months. So I tried making an appointment 6 months later and they refused to take my call. My eye prescription was initially very high and it's definitely better than it was before the procedure but to actually have the staff promise 20/20 vision with such certainty is complete misrepresentation and a blatant lie. The most dissapointing thing about the whole experience is the post-op manner of the staff. They are very friendly before the procedure and after that, they don't seem interested at all. each follow up, I simply said that I can't see well and the equipment showed that my vision is not ok yet they all seemed annoyed that I even had any questions about this. My mother got operated in october, she had monovision lasik done but then it didn't work so she got PRK and then it still didn't fix her vision, she still need reading glasses . I don't recommend you to get your surgery here! They messed up my cornea so thin they can't even do any more surgeries because it'll mess up her vision. I got lasik done there. I have to say it was quick and painless. The attentive staff were very efficient. I did my pre-op and procedure done all in one day so I was there for quite some time but they all checked up on me. The office is clean and really pretty. So there's two parts to lasik, one part where they create the flap and one where they do the lasik. I would say it was about 2 mins total. It was so quick! The flap part was a little crazy because I thought that was the lasik part. I see why they don't say anything. You first see through a lighted tube(laying down) and that's when they quickly create the flap, then they move you to the laser part (you're still laying down) and that was fun! It looked like a quick light show per eye maybe 15 seconds each. Afterwards the optometrist examines you and then you go home. It was amazing. They were all kind and give you great payment options. Amazing LASIK Experience at TLC Laser Eye Center! I've struggled with poor eyesight my entire life--my prescription was -5.50 in both eyes. As a kid, I had to stand right up to the chalkboard to see anything, and I've been dependent on glasses and contacts ever since. But just a few days ago, I had LASIK at TLC Laser Eye Center, and I'm already seeing 20/20! My doctor even said my vision might get better as I heal. The experience was incredible, though I'll admit I had some personal challenges. I'm mildly claustrophobic and have a big fear of blindness, so I was very anxious going into the procedure. I had a mid-tier nearsightedness prescription with a high astigmatism. I considered getting Lasik for a couple years and finally went in for my first consultation at TLC. It was fairly easy to schedule the appointment over the phone. There are good Covid procedures going on where only patients are allowed in the waiting area. For the consultation, you get your vision checked like any yearly checkup. In addition, they also measure the thickness of your cornea. Most of the work is done by the consultant, and an optometrist is also involved. Eyes are not dilated in the consultation (it's only done for the pre-op). I was asked for my previous prescription. I showed a digital copy on my phone. They took my word for the fact that my prescription had not changed in the past 1 year, and didn't push that much beyond that for my vision history. I was told I am a Lasik candidate, and discussed pricing and logistics. If you're going into your consultation having done zero research, you might feel a bit clueless/frustrated like the other 1-star reviewers. Please do proper research before going in so you can ask the right questions. TLC staff will answer your questions to the best of their knowledge, and provide you pamphlets with information. One's vision is very important, so please make an informed decision. I was a bit worried about the potential small % chance of problems. They do say the first year has full coverage of any enhancements needed. The "lifetime" coverage is for any enhancements, but pre + post ops would be out of pocket. If you have VSP, the total pricing will be auto-deducted so you only need to pay the difference out of pocket. I was not ready to schedule everything yet so held off a couple weeks before calling in to actually schedule. We scheduled 5 appointments: the pre-op, the day-before-procedure zoom call, the procedure, the 1 day post-op, and the 1 week post-op. They were very patient and not pushy to try to make a sale. I was asked to be out of contacts starting 10 days before surgery. As the surgery date became closer and I did more research, I considered doing PRK instead because it seemed safer, and I didn't hear that much about PRK during the consultation (PRK is more of a discussed option for people who are not Lasik candidates). I actually booked a second opinion consultation at LasikPlus in Brooklyn, but after some discussion with the optometrist during the pre-op, Lasik still seemed like a better option due to the quicker recovery, and TLC is a much more convenient location for me as I live in Manhattan. I ended up canceling my 2nd opinion appointment at LasikPlus. All the paperwork was signed during the pre-op (which is also sent via email for pre-reading). The consultant was not very quick to respond through email, but when calling in or chatting in person, everyone is very friendly and responsive. At TLC, they offer FS (Bladeless) Lasik. I didn't realize this until the pre-op (assumed regular Lasik). I asked to get a copy of the corneal thickness measurements which the consultant made copies of for me. I made my split payments with 2 credit cards through their online system (via Paypal). You can pay at the office, too. A couple days before procedure, my astigmatism changed a bit since it was the first time I didn't wear contacts for such a long duration. I noted that to Dr. Speaker in our zoom call, he mentioned we can check it before the operation. Day of operation: I arrived a few mins early, but wasn't brought in until 10 mins after appointment time, seems like there were some delays given the high amount of people getting their procedure on this day. My left eye got checked, I took the Vallium, was explained the schedule of eye drops over the next couple weeks. Dr Speaker came to take a quick look, I signed some more paperwork with the consultant. The procedure went well and Dr. Speaker was very reassuring and overall left a great impression throughout the entire experience. It is cold in the operation room so dress appropriately. The whole thing took about 2.5 hours due to in-between waits. Since guests are not allowed inside, they ask you to text them before you enter the operation room. You will be given eye shields + tape to wear on Day 1 + when sleeping on subsequent days. Healing process is going good so far. Day 1 was a bit foggy and halo-y, but no pain at all. I watched 20 mins of tv about 7 hours after surgery and could see fairly clearly. Day 2 was sharper, started feeling a bit of soreness/throbbing with some halos still, but the pain was minimal compared to pain felt from typical contact lens issues. Day 3 was even sharper. I am on Day 4 after my FS-LASIK surgery, and feeling amazing so far. This was such a worthwhile procedure and I'd highly recommend it to those who are Lasik candidates. I got LASIK done here October 2020. Dr. Speakman and his staff were very nice and professional, but they severely understated the risks of the procedure. Starting the day following the procedure, I have had debilitating and severe eye pain nearly every day that makes basic living very challenging. I'm now writing this on December 2022, over 2 years after the procedure with no improvement. I've seen Dr. Speakman and his staff a few times after the procedure but while he is polite, he is dismissive of my issues and has no solution. I only got a consultation here, so my review has nothing to do with Dr Speaker (who from what I've heard is great!). Despite hearing wonderful things about the Dr, I decided to not get my procedure done here as my consultation was a bit off putting. Before they had even looked at my eyes and deemed I was a good candidate, they were already trying to push surgery dates on me. My exam was a lot less thorough than the other places I received consultations, and this was the only place I went where I didn't get to actually speak with the Dr who would be performing the surgery. The staff seemed pretty unorganized, constantly putting me in the wrong room/having me move, but what really sealed the deal for me was that in the middle of me asking questions/going over any of my concerns, they rushed me to the front desk and essentially forced me to book my surgery/follow up appointments. Most other consultations I had at different places encouraged me to really sit on the decision as it's a lot of money and doesn't come without it's risks, but here I felt like they just wanted me to get in and out and rush into it. I'm sure if I decided to use them for the surgery it would have been fine, but they didn't do a lot to calm my fears. For very similar prices, I think it's worth it to look elsewhere. read more

I chose TLC to get LASIK done a month ago and had a fantastic experience! Free consultation: Penelope was my consultant and she was very personable without being salesy. She and another eye doctor did some basic eye exams (such as seeing how thick my cornea was) to determine if I was a good candidate for LASIK. Pre-op appointment (one week before surgery date): They tell you to stop wearing contacts 2 weeks before surgery. During the pre-op they do more eye exams and have you meet with the surgeon, Dr. Speaker, to ask any questions you have. They also give prescriptions for the eye drops needed for after the surgery. Day of surgery: My surgery was scheduled for 11am but I arrived an hour early and spent about 3 hours there. They give a valium to help you relax and bring you into a room where they put numbing drops in your eyes. I promptly conked out while waiting for them to bring me to the surgery room. The procedure itself is really quick, about 15 minutes total, and they rotate you between two machines while you lie down (with eyeball-shaped stress balls to hold, hehe). Dr. Speaker talks to you the whole time saying things like "you're doing great!" And as you leave the surgery room, you can see everything so clearly! They have you lie down in a reclining chair for a while before putting shields on your eyes and sending you home. I spent the rest of the day sleeping, waking up every hour to put in eye drops as directed. Dr. Speaker also texts you in the evening to check how you're doing. Post-op appointments: You have a one day, one week, and one month post-ops. These appointments are pretty quick and they check to make sure your corneal flap is healing ok. They actually let me do my one day post-op in their Garden City office since I went home to my parents' house in Long Island after my surgery. It's been about a month since my surgery and my vision is crystal clear. Everyone at TLC was incredibly professional and helpful. I have been considering laser eye surgery for years. I wasn't fully committed because of cost and even more so, nerves. I went to the consultation which was smooth as can be. Nik (not sure of spelling) was so professional and made me feel so at ease during the tests. He explained everything in detail and really sounded like an expert when we were looking at my scans. I then met with an eye doctor who did the official eye exam. She was also amazing and friendly and nice and encouraging and calming and I ended up being qualified and booked my surgery for the following Thursday. For some background, my prescription was -3.5 in both eyes, slight astigmatism and I'm 33 years old. So Dr. Speaker called me the day before the surgery which was unexpected and made the process that much more comfortable. I went in for the surgery and it was a bit of a wait which may have just seemed longer because I was nervous and wanted to get it over with. The nurse or assistant handed me medical shoe covers and a hair bouffant and then I went in. He walked me through and spoke to me throughout the entire process. The only part that "hurt" but didn't actually hurt were these suction rings but it was so quick. After it was over, they walked me to a reclining chair where I sat with my eyes closed for maybe 10-15 mins. Then someone came and gave me my steroid drops and artificial tears. She walked me through all the next steps and instructions, put my plastic eye shields on and I was off. Got in an Uber with my fiancé, went home, laid down, took some stuff to help me sleep, listened to an audio book and was in and out of sleep all night. I woke up the next day, took off the shields and it was like a new world. I could see everything so clearly. Even better than with my contacts! My eyes were a little dry, more so the left one seemed like it was having some irritation. I went in for my next day post op and she said everything looked great just the left one was more dry. I got Lasik from TLC about 2 months ago now. I think I'm starting to take my new eyes for granted already! Which is a good thing - because everything went so smoothly and I have no issues whatsoever. It's been almost a year since I had Lasik at TLC. My vision is still 20/20, the slight dryness requiring daily eyedrops has subsided and I only need to use eyedrops whenever I remember (every few days), and I've gotten a lot of positive feedback from Yelp users about my review being helpful. Personally, I've been traveling, swimming, and playing sports without needing contacts anymore and that's been amazing. I can also work longer hours without dry contacts...which is less fun, but also amazing. I've recommended a coworker and a friend to see Dr. Speaker at TLC and I continue to recommend people whom are seriously considering Lasik or PRK. Dr. Speaker was the best for me in my search, and I understand that everyone has unique needs so I can only recommend you at least try out the center and see if it works for you. I went to TLC to get free Lasik consultation. I have been to 3 lasik centers in total and TLC is the worst! I did not do my lasik here first of all because I was not treated like a patient but more as a money bag. While the nurse was very nice and helpful Dr. Speaker left a very bad impression on me. On my consultation he did not look like he wanted to speak to me at all, was short and looked annoyed. When i asked him " what possible complications can i get after Lasik?" instead of explaining it to me his answer was " If you are concerned about complications then do not do Lasik at all!" I was shocked! Of course I am concerned, it is my eyes we are talking about and i would like to get all the information from a person who might be performing a surgery on me. I have never been treated like that by any doctor in my life! TL;DR - I had a terrible consultation experience that raised so many red flags for me. I walked away feeling like I could not trust this office with my eyes. Our problems started early when they were disorganized with scheduling and getting my records from my referring eye doctor. I had believed my eye doctor's records were important to them, but they were unconcerned to not have them. But their examination doctor sealed the deal for me. After I told him I didn't think I would want to do PRK because I was worried about the pain, he handed me back my glasses and said that ours would be "a short conversation then." He was basically saying, okay then get out. Is that how you respect the medical patients you treat? We continued the appointment after I asked a few more questions, but the doctor didn't show me and explain my results from the cornea thickness testing (which he didn't personally perform, by the way). He also never asked me about myself, didn't explain why my referring eye doctor would have recommended me for LASIK, never offered to retest my cornea thickness, nor offered any compelling reason to get PRK with TLC. The doctor said I would be "miserable" for a few days after PRK, which really dissuaded me after I said that pain was my primary concern. To be honest he never even explained he wasn't the surgeon, which I had assumed until the office manager wrote about the actual surgeon in reply to an e-mail I sent them. I also didn't appreciate him putting drops into my eyes without explaining what it was or why he was doing it, and wish I had spoken up about that in the moment. When I was put in an office with the center manager, she then asked me if I wanted to make an appointment for surgery. And nobody had yet even touched on explaining to me what the cost or financing might look like. The center manager did send me a thoughtful and detailed response to my concerns when I sent them to her, explaining that there was an issue with scheduling between their call center and office for my appointment, offered to set up an appointment between me and their actual surgeon, and apologized for not speaking to me about price and financing as she thought someone else already had. I appreciated her reply and she deserves credit for that. But because of everything that happened, especially with the doctor, I can't trust TLC Laser Eye Centers to perform a surgical operation on me. I will get corrective eye surgery, just not here. The consultation was such a bad day for them during what was supposed to be the easy part. I don't want to find out what a bad day for them looks like during the hard part. read more

I procrastinated due to cost, trepidation, and pure laziness - here is a good one "I'll wait until one of my really close friends gos through with it". A half a dozen really, really close friends later, over a few years, and I was still not making a decision. But hey - here I am now 4 months later, at work writing a review for 5 stars when I should working . Will you have to go through the itching - yes, will you have to go through the crazy amount of drops for a bit - yes, will you have to wear the funky protective gear that will make you look like a funky Bono bee - yea - BUT IT WILL BE WORTH IT. Plus I got a really cool video of the procedure to entice or gross out my friends. Now I'm that really, really close friend that did it. Had Lasik done at TLC by Dr. Speaker in October. I am now 2.5 months post surgery and results are exactly what I had hoped for. During my last eye exam (post 1 month) I was 20/15 with both eyes. While I am very happy with the results, I think what made my experience so great with TLC were the people involved all throughout the process as well as how well managed the place is. Penelope was my consultant and she was fantastic. Given the importance of the procedure, I had tons of questions all throughout the process. Penelope never let me feel I was asking too many or being too high maintenance. She was extremely patient, answered every question thoroughly and made sure I felt totally comfortable with the answers. If she wasn't able to get me a complete answer, she always followed-up and got me an answer. She also walked me through the post-op protocol and made me feel I was in great hands every step of the way even post the procedure. Both Dr. Siegel and Dr. Speaker were great as well. They answered all of my questions, made sure that I fully understood the risks and most importantly, gave me the relevant data to back up all the things I needed to consider before having the procedure. Like everyone should when it comes to their eyes, I shopped around for the perfect place to get Lasik. I found places that were cheaper, but I didn't feel as comfortable as I did at TLC. I decided their care was worth my extra money, and I couldn't be happier. During my consult Yohanna gave me a ton of instructions that I asked to repeat 80 times. She was patient and was never annoyed at all of my questions. The eye doctor I saw was thorough in making sure she gave me every piece of information I needed and was also very patient through my questions. When I came back to meet Dr. Speaker I knew I was in good hands. He looked at my eyes thoroughly to make sure I was a good candidate for the procedure. He wouldn't let me leave until I was 1,000% positive I had no questions and was ready for surgery day. Surgery day was very weird. The procedure itself is just strange but quick and painless. You stare at the lights, and the lights move, but don't worry that's normal. I was out in 5 minutes. My boyfriend couldn't believe how quick it was. After the surgery they had me rest with my eyes closed on a recliner. Dr. Speaker himself frequently came back to check on me. Later that night when I was home Dr. Speaker texted me to see how I was doing. The first week of surgery I was a nervous wreck and always thought everything was wrong. I called them several times at all times of the day and night. A doctor always got back to me. At one point they even let me come in to get checked. Everything was totally fine of course. TLC's care is worth your extra money. You can go to a cheaper place, but you won't get the privilege of having their care whenever you need it. I have contemplated getting LASIK for years. I was anxious at first, but everyone at TLC is amazing. Penelop, Dr. Siegel and Dr. Speaker are amazing. I was anxious at first, but each one of them took the time to answer any questions I had and to ease my anxiety. The procedure itself was so short and looking back on it, I did not need to be worried beforehand. It is quick and painless. I scheduled an appointment for Lasik Surgery after an initial appointment to see if I was a good candidate. I then went to another surgery center in Brooklyn (LasikPlus). The price quote was 1,200 dollars less at LasikPlus. I called TLC 3 times over the next 2 weeks asking to speak with someone in the NYC office to see if they would price match. The phone center would reach out to the NYC office but no one would pick up. The National call center would call me trying to confirm my appointment 3 times leading up to my surgery date and I would explain that I'm still waiting for the NYC office to call back. The day before my surgery the NYC office called and asked if I was coming. I told them I was only interested in a price match and they said that wasn't possible. If they can't return a phone call for 2 weeks it doesn't bode well for the abilities of this center to care for you in the future. The price seems bad, I would look else where. read more

I got LASIK here just over a week ago, and the whole experience has been really great!! They eye doctor who did my original consultation, Dr. Mancuso, was very kind and calming and super knowledgeable, as was the TLC staff who helped me with everything (Sam was my initial consult support staff, and she was great). Then when I had my virtual consult with Dr. Speaker, he was super supportive and answered all my questions with patience, which I really appreciated. On the day of the surgery, everyone in the office seems to make an extra effort to be positive and create a calm and inviting environment. The most important thing for me was that, during the procedure, Dr. Speaker talks through the whole thing, is encouraging, says how things are going, continuously reminds you what to do with your eyes (look right at this light, etc.), and tells you you're doing great, everything looks great, etc. Obviously having something done to your eyes (elective though it may be) can be an anxiety-inducing, and Dr. Speaker and the team at TLC just really seem to understand that and do what they can to take the edge off of the whole experience. After the procedure, the other doctor (maybe Dr. Yan? I can't remember) gives very clear guidance on what to do with your medicines, etc. Dr. Speaker sends a txt later in the day, too, to check in, which is a thoughtful added touch. Same thing with the follow up visits -- everyone is great, gives you very clear instructions. They were also available when I had questions. All in all, wonderful experience!! I had my surgery Oct. 2014, and wanted to wait a while before writing this review just to see how my eyes turned out. I'd also like to add, to anyone who's concerned or nervous about laser eye sx, please message me, and I'll share with you my personal experience. Regardless on how great my vision is right now, the staff at TLC are impeccable! The receptionists all inspired me to become a better receptionist myself! Walking into the waiting room was like walking into Trump's penthouse. It's super fancy with free soda, water, snacks, and coffee from a Kureg machine. You can sit down in the waiting room to watch shows on the flat screen T.V. The women behind the counter even offered me food!! They received food from a vendor, and asked if I wanted some. Wth. They're awesome! Friendliest set of people I ever met. Dr. Speaker is a very straight-to-the-point kind of person. I'm amazed with how spot on he was regarding my health. For the pre-op appointment, he exams everyone beforehand and answers any and all questions you have. I never felt rushed even though they do 15 surgeries a day. He asked me to close my eyes, and before I knew it, he diagnosed me with possible hyperthyroidism. Wow, how did he know. He claims I sleep with my eye open. Ok, this is how you know this doctor has been doing this for many years and is good at what he does. He didn't hide anything, he did tell me due to the fact that I sleep with my eyes open, I will experience dry eye. On the day of the surgery, my friends came to support me and was allowed to view the surgery (with my consent) via T.V. screen. Dr. Speaker saw how nervous I was laying on the bed. I was really close in saying "No wait I'm not ready!" But I didn't and I'm glad I grew the courage to go with it. Dr. Speaker, throughout the entire 10 minutes of the surgery, kept saying "You're doing great!", "Everything is going perfectly", "You almost done", "Beautiful, things are going great". He kept saying stuff like that, and it calmed me because he allowed me to trust him with all his reassurance. I loved that. As soon as he was done, I saw... I saw everything. It worked as soon as I got off the bed. I was -3.75 on my right eye, -3.25 on my left. I see 20/15 in my right eye and 20/20 in my left. I don't have constant dry eye; I only have dry eye when I wake up due to the fact I sleep with my eyes open, but after putting drops in, I'm fine throughout the day. I never saw halo's but my sight was a little blurry at night in the beginning. TLC offers a payment plan if you qualify; I believe it's 2 year plan of 0%APR. After your surgery, they offer free follow up visits for a whole year, and a lifetime guarantee of corrective vision. For the lifetime things, they claim if your eyes for some reason worsens, you can get them corrected for free. If technology advances, they you just have to pay for the discrepancy from the older technology to the new one. That shouldn't be more than $500. The only way to keep this lifetime guarantee thing is if you continually see your regular eye doctor every year. Bottom line; don't let their crappy official website fool you. I just had my surgery on July 2nd. The five stars are for the results - i do have some caveats (see below!) The consultation was seamless and the staff amazing. I was ready to sign up right then and there -- words to the wise, if you wear contacts and you are anxious to book, you must be out of contacts for 2 weeks minimum before the surgery. The day of surgery i was whisked to discuss waivers (to be expected w any surgery), financing and to give the yummy valium (i was so nervous, this definitely helped!). A short while later i was taken to a room to start the numbing drops and then i was given to stress balls a big blanket and was set up. (the stress balls are for your hands to have something to do and so your body doesn't clench from nervs). First eye was seamless and probably a total of 1 minute! Next eye... i felt the clamp and Dr Speaker stopped immediately and put more numbing drops in, unfortunately this eye didn't have as easy of a surgery as the first. Though from a surgical perspective everything was good, i definitely had pain in this eye later that nite. I woke up on Friday feeling 90% and seeing 100%! I went for post-op and was 20/25 and expected it to get better as the day goes on. For a 2 minute surgery, a friendly staff and up and on my feet less than 24 hours later - 5 stars! The caveats are as such: The timeslot you book is NOT your surgery time, it seemed i wasn't the only one who didn't know this as i heard someone complaining. Expect to be there 3-3.5 hours. I had to call in for my prescriptions from advice of my eye dr as he said i should've received when i booked I was never told about the special lubricating drops to buy until day of surgery, i brought visine which is a no no Financing was not done prior as requested The caveats are small, but with some processes check TLC will surpass 5 stars. I got Lasik done here pre pandemic. I did the free consultation and they set up an appointment for an assessment/ eye exam, which was 10 days before my Lasik surgery. I was told to stop wearing contacts two weeks before the Lasik surgery, but I feel that I should have stopped two weeks before the assessment? The actual surgery went fine, but I wish they would have explained where I would go post op. The surgery took about 15 minutes and they did one eye at a time. They put numbing drops before the surgery and gave me a Valium. I didn't feel anything and my vision went white in each eye during the surgery for like two minutes then vision became blurry when they finished with the eye. After surgery, I sat away from the waiting room for like 15 min before they said I could go. I wasn't expecting to be let go so fast, so they called the person who was picking me up and I had to wait in the waiting room with a ton of people for about 20 min. If I had known in advance I would have had the person come with me. After surgery, I was supposed to put in the antibiotic drops every hour. It burned a little, and my eye generally felt a little irritated, but nothing too bad. I was able to see better the next day, but I had blurry-ish vision for like two weeks. My eyes were really dry though, and it's been nearly 3 years and I still use eye drops. Unfortunately, I think I would have still had dry eye if I got the same procedure done anywhere else. I paid between 4,800-5000 (it's been so long I don't remember exactly). If I could do it again I would have tried to do SMILE, which has a quicker recovery and significantly less chance of dry eye. I had my LASIK surgery on January 16, 2015 so I think it's a great time to write up a review. My eyes healed perfectly with no complications. Just a note, I had a mild prescription and no severe conditions such as astigmatism. Staff was super friendly and talkative. Dr. Speaker and Dr. Siegel were straight to the point and I had very few questions since I read about every reliable online source. Don't be afraid! You will not believe you're paying almost $5,000 for less than less than 15mins of operation. Your vision is corrected immediately but things were blurry and not quite focused. DON'T BE ALARMED! THIS IS NORMAL. I could see clearly the next day but did have some sensitivity to light. I did not experience any pain and the best thing you can do is go straight home and rest your eyes. Follow the prescriptions eye drops and make sure to have them prior to your operation. Healing is quicker and faster this way. Also, learn to love your shields at night and shades during the day. Highly recommend this operation during wintertime so you can relax indoors as much as possible. Despite the redness around the white parts of my eyes for the next 3 weeks, my recovery was smooth sailing. This varies with everyone but my redness took longer to go away. Again buy some cool sunglasses, you can see 20/20 now so who cares? My regular eye doctor is happy with my post op exams and I could not be happier. For the first time in a long time, I was able to jump into the beach water without worrying about losing my contacts. It's all about those little things. After years of being scared, two of my co-workers referred me to TLC Laser Eye Center. I had my consultation back in 2011 and all of my worries were out of the door. The receptionists along with Dr. Speaker and Dr. Siegel were absolutely fantastic. I decided to get LASIK a few months after my consultation because I wanted to save for it, believe me there are great prices out there for just $2000 or even less for both eyes but when it comes down to it, I wanted to go to the best even if I have to pay $5000 for it. All I wanted was to stop trying to find my glasses and putting contacts to look for them and to be able to see the time on the cable box; I was able to see perfectly within seconds after surgery.
