Hirshfield and the first thing he told me was they ARE operable and I have had one removed so far.

I had used Dr. Weiss for over 20 years and had every confidence in his ability to do my cataract…read moresurgery. I had one done and it was perfect. A few months later, I had the second eye done. I had the cataract lasered off and went in to have the lens put in. Dr. Weiss inadvertently dropped the lens in the wrong place and couldn't retrieve it. I knew that the surgery was taking much longer than the first. He kept trying and trying to get the lens out, even calling in another ophthalmologist to look at my eye. He continued to try to get the lens out, calling in the other doctor a second time, when the other doctor said he should probably stop. In recovery, Dr. Weiss told me what had happened. I would have to go to a retinal specialist as they would be able to do what he couldn't do in getting the lens out and repositioning it. He kept insisting that there was no problem and that it would just take a little longer for me to have a lens put in. It's 2 1/2 years later. I have been blind in that eye since the surgery. I have had 2 retinal reattachments and a full cornea transplant since my simple cataract surgery. There is no chance now of every regaining my eyesight in that eye. While he might still be good for eye exams, please rethink him doing your cataract surgery.

Dr. Weiss is a good eye doctor. He takes time to answer your questions. His optometrist is also…read morereally nice. His office is has a little to be desired however. Some of the people running the office are nice, but there is one lady where she just seems like she has an axe to grind with everyone. The hours are convenient. On Tuesdays, you can get as late as 7pm, which is good for working people. Also, if you have DMV, school, or work forms, they charge $15 per form. I have never heard of that before and think that it is a little ridiculous. They also charge $70 for a refraction which is normal because insurance companies don't cover it..

2 hours waiting...my appt was for 3:15pm...the doctor didn't see me until 5:15pm. Was talking to…read moresomeone who was waiting for longer than me and found out that her appt was also at 3:15. Wait...they double book patients? The front office people did say that's how they book appointments! Nevermind having to wait to see the doctor but to have the staff/technicians be rude and speak to you with matter-of-fact attitude, that really takes the cake! Made my next appointment in the other office the doctor goes to and will see how that goes...otherwise, on to the next. Those front office people and technicians need to go for training instead of walking around with a condescending attitude. One of them was very nice and when I told her about the experience, she said, I like to treat my patients the same way I want my mother to be treated and that's how it should be when dealing people who have been waiting for hours.

Appointment made a year ago. Diabetic/annual eye exam. Got a call last week that the doctor I was…read moresupposed to see would not be in on the date of my appointment. Was told first available appointment with my doctor was over 6 weeks away from my original appointment. Offered appointment with optometrist instead of ophthalmologist. Office called me back saying they found an appointment on the day following my original appointment with a different doctor (ophthalmologist) Sign says refraction not paid for by insurance but recommended as an important part of eye exam. After pictures of eye were taken I was told the doctor I was seeing did not do refraction so I couldn't get prescription should I need new glasses. Was again offered the optician to do my exam and was told "he does plenty of diabetic exams and can do the refraction as well". My appointment was with an ophthalmologist. I do not come for an annual eye exam to be told the doctor does not do a refraction when the sign at the check in states that OCLI considers refraction an important part of an eye exam. Why am I wasting my time. I do NOT recommend OCLI
