I had Lasik with TLC Westchester, IL in January of 2024. In the days following after, I noticed significant starburst/halos around lights in the evening and even in dim lighting indoors during the day. The paperwork given by TLC that I received before noted this can be normal up to 3 months. To this day, I still have these symptoms and they have not improved AT ALL. I do not feel safe driving much at night. Additionally, I did not end up with 20/20 vision, so I do still wear glasses for driving or when attending events where I'd like better vision seeing far. In my follow-up appointment, I was very disappointed by the male staff member who seems to be some sort of medical assistant/front desk/intake person. I expressed my concerns. I was dismissed saying that this is due to the mild astigmatism my chart noted pre-operatively (I never had symptoms like this preoperatively). Then when the real doctor came in, I was given different explanations. This happened with my other issue relating to halos/starbursts as well where this medical assistant gave his opinion on my situation (and discounted it might I add) only to have the real physician give completely different information. I was told that I was a potential candidate for enhancement due to the results of my vision exam. In the original paperwork issued to me it noted a "lifetime guarantee" for corrections being included in the price of lasik. This is not completely accurate because you have to go to a regular eye doctor for testing (that you pay for) and additionally pay for testing at TLC to further determine candidacy. I will not ever pursue an enhancement due to the issues it has caused for me regarding light. In summary, I do not believe that the documentation you receive when considering lasik is transparent when it comes to the enhancements nor to possible long-term effects. I also was very unhappy with the medical assistant staff member for gaslighting me regarding my concerns (when the physician echoed them) and giving his unqualified medical opinion. The level of professionalism at the office was amazing and way above par. From the prescreening to the day of the procedure and the follow up, they didn't skip a beat. Everyone was very knowledgeable, courteous, and professional every step of the way. I had my LASIK procedure two weeks ago at TLC White Plains and I wish I did it sooner!! Everyone at the office was warm, welcoming and patient when it came to all my questions and concerns. Samantha at the front desk greeted me at each visit with a smile, Dr. Kim saw me for my pre and post op visits and took time to review all instructions and Dr. Abramson was my surgeon-sweet, friendly and comforting during my procedure. The procedure took no more than 10 minutes and just last week at my post op I was told I had 20/20 vision without the need for my contacts or glasses! Doctor was fine but the staff was rude and neglectful. The office explained to me that after having the surgery they would call my contact to have him pick me up right away. The day I got my surgery they put me in the waiting room to wait for my husband. I waited for atleast what felt like 15 minutes and realized that he should have been there by that point because he was waiting close by. I struggled to walk over to the receptionist's desk and asked if she could call him for me "again". She rudely dismissed me and said there was no need for that and that he was called. I was very sensitive to light at that point and very drowsy from the meds but I decided to continue to wait. I waited some more. Dosed off a few times. At some point I walked out of the reception area and sat in one of the dark doctors offices. No one noticed my drowsy walk over to the office. I tried to carefully turn my phone on and dial my husband as i squinted through the goggles they put on you after the surgery. Asked him to pick me up. He was there within minutes. No one had called him. He didn't have any missed calls. No call. Ever. I'm sure other people have had better experiences, but that was my experience with the office staff. read more

Could not have asked for a more friendly, helpful, and caring staff. The staff guided me throughout the entire process, making it easy to get everything scheduled and done correctly. The surgery was quick and far less painful than I had expected (just some minor discomfort to be honest). Disclaimer: I ended up having my Lasik surgery elsewhere. But, here we go. I came to TLC with hopes of having a Lasik consultation, and from the consultation I loveeedd the Optometrist they had who did my initial appointment (but never actually met the surgeon who would be doing my Lasik, strange). It wasn't until I secured my date with the billing/surgery coordinator that all the problems came. They sent me offsite to a small, overworked and overcrowded eye office to have a "post-op" (which ran me $50) and I sat in that office for 2 hours JUST to have a post-op which could have been done in office @ TLC. Then, I tried getting in contact with TLC and literally could not get anyone on the phone, 2 weeks before surgery I still had no info, and I hadn't heard from anyone. It was soooo off putting, and I dislike how they handled my situation. How can I trust you to OPERATE ON MY EYES, but I can't get in contact with the office in regards to my appointment? I had my Custom Bladless Intralase procedure done at the end of April by Dr. Abramson. I can honestly say I'm glad I didn't chose another doctor to do my surgery. All of TLC's staff is warm and helpful. I never once felt like I was just another patient walking through the door. Elaine (front desk) is so kind and warm. She makes you feel like you belong there. The waiting area is clean, there is a TV, some magazines, a keurig and a fridge with cold sodas. Two weeks before my surgery I met with Dr. Abramson to discuss what was being done to my eyes and what to expect on the day of my surgery. Dr. Abramson was fun and professional. After my pre-op consultation with her I felt comfortable knowing that she was going to be doing my surgery. I had some of my follow-ups with Dr. Greenberg and she was nice and professional. I never waited a long time to be seen. The doctors were aware I did not work in White Plains so when I had appointments before work they made sure I was seen as soon as they got in. Pro, Ilana, Gina and Christine were also great members of the staff. I do not have one complaint about anyone that works there. After my first few visits there, they knew me by my first name and treated me as if they had known me for years. I had lasik less than 24 hours ago by Dr Abramson and am beyond thrilled with my results. The procedure had a few uncomfortable situations but she walked you through everything. I've had zero burning, zero scratching feeling and just found out after my 1-day post op that I have 20/20 vision!!! Tips: don't watch too many online videos but educate yourself about the procedure. I had my lasik surgery with Dr. Abramson exactly 2 weeks ago today. I could not be happier with my decision to have this procedure done at TLC in White Plains and with Dr. Abramson as my surgeon. She sat patiently with me during my pre-op and answered all of my questions honestly and directly. As someone who researches everything to death before making a decision, I even gave her print-outs of all the horror stories I had read online and she calmly sat and went through each one with me, never minimizing my fears but giving me valid explanations. She laid her specific game plan out for me and and my eyes and told me that she felt confident that this would be a positive and life-changing experience for me. I trusted Dr. Abramson, knew that I was a good candidate for the procedure, and decided that for me, the benefits would outweigh the risks. I was a -8 prescription, extremely near-sighted before the surgery and after over 10 years of wearing contact lenses and glasses, I now see 20/20. The results have far exceeded my expectations. I felt comforted by the fact that Dr. Abramson is a very well respected and experienced eye surgeon and is not someone who only does lasik procedures. I also felt better knowing that she herself has had lasik done to her eyes. Not only was Dr. Abramson wonderful, but the entire staff at TLC was as well. I had my routine Lasik before covid, paid in full..and during, was very nervous. Dr A came in beforehand and spoke fast and sort of in circles about what she knew about lasik. Didn't ask if I had questions. I have very dry eyes and was concerned about things like moving and blinking during procedure. She said don't move. She didn't look further into my concern about extreme dry eyes. . During procedure she did not tell me what was happening and I felt the eye lid being held open way more than I thought I would which was alarming to say the least. Should be completely numb for this kind of thing. I felt a lot of discomfort. I asked nurse to tell my husband who was in waiting area, that I was ok and would be out after I rested a bit, she didn't do that even tho she said she did. After the procedure covid went into effect, but I was never once contacted by staff. When I called 5x to see if the blurryness and discomfort was Normal, also inflammation that wasn't ordinary, I left messeges on a machine. I got no call back. Email as well. In both the email and phone call I asked for prednisone refill for eye discomfort and no one bothered to do that either. When I finally got someone on the phone 6 months later, she quickly said "we don't deal with any patient after Lasik-go to your regular eye doctor from here" very matter of fact. No concern. "We are out of the picture now". My eyes still are dry.. my vision is definitely much better but can be blurry. I still need glasses to watch tv and drive that I haven't gotten yet so I think about this a lot since I expected more after concern. U would think they would want to see me to make sure I'm healing correctly... not very comforting or reassuring. Sorry. I guess they got paid and don't see any reason to include me in their statistics. Make sure she numbs u and explains the procedure first, I was caught off guard and made to feel as if I was a annoyance when I said that hurts. Very scary when u are having a procedure on your eyes and this is the treatment u get. read more

Disappointing. Avoid this place like the plague. The vision correction went fine. But the follow up from staff is non-existent. Calling into the office is a nightmare. First you speak with the call center, they ask all kinds of stupid questions. When you say "I am in pain and discomfort and I need to speak with the doctor", there is zero sense of urgency. They just continue to ask their dumbass questions, only to eventually transfer you to the office itself, where the next person you speak to once again asks the same stupid questions. I one point I told this asshole my shoe size. When I finally got the white plains office on the phone, and voiced my issue and concern, I was told the doctor would call me back within the hour. This was at 10 AM. I was also told they were open until 9 pm. Never got that call back. So I call once again at 4:30 pm wondering when I would speak to someone useful, office closed. Wtf? Then I call the after hours service, and about two hours after answering another series of stupid questions the doc finally calls me back only to tell me there was nothing she could do. Fabulous. The next morning someone from the office calls to ask me how my experience was. When I expressed my frustration with having an issue and being ignored all day, she told me they had 30 new patients that day and couldn't get to me. Great, so because you already have my $5,000 I can be ignored so that you could sell someone else on your shitty service and try to get their $5k. Bottom line they cannot see me as I was already out of town by the time they got back to me. Finally they agree to write an Rx for Restasis, when I get to cvs for the pickup, they wanted $700 for the tiny little bottle of eye drops. The people at TLC are useless. Some should be taken out back and shot. I just hope Covid keeps thinning out the herd. Too many idiots walking around. Somehow they all work for TLC. read more

I just had Lasik done by Dr. Abramson and her staff. I anticipated the procedure equivalent of going to the dentist, you know the end result will be fine but all the grinding makes you unsettled. It was nothing like that, the staff was amazing and the whole procedure was quick and painless. Before the procedure I had 1.25 for distance and 3.5 for reading, I was told that they correct the distance and improve the reading a little (and I would still need reading glasses). After the procedure my distance is 20/15 and my reading is at 1.25 (never thought it would have been this much better), to be honest I had good eye sight in my young years - that might have helped. I would highly recommend the procedure and Dr. Abramson and her team. read more

I recently had LASIK done at the TLC center in White Plains and have mostly positive remarks but also a few critical points. The free consultation appointment can be done at any time and they will tell you within an hour whether or not you are a candidate for laser eye surgery. After my consultation, I was quickly scooted into an office to discuss payment options and appointments. I felt kind of pressured at that point because the doctor only performs surgeries once a week and the holidays and vacation times were coming up and I really did not want to wait until 2016. I decided to schedule the surgery within 2 weeks after my consultation appointment. They make it sound like recovery is only a couple days and you can go back to work as long as you follow instructions, I was a good candidate, I should go for it. DAY OF SURGERY - Consent forms were signed and payment was made when I arrived. They gave me a sedative and I relaxed in one room before being moved to another room that was right next to the surgical room. I was kept in my comfortable clothing and had to wear a surgical cap and things for my shoes, and the next thing I knew I was being brought in for surgery. Your eyes are drowned with numbing drops and they tape down one eye while they perform surgery on the other one. The device that holds open your eyelids was very uncomfortable, it looked almost like an eyelash curler. Only your eyeballs are numb, so the area around my eye was being stretched and really did not like that part. My body felt relaxed but my mind was screaming," be careful these are my eyes!!" There were 2 assistants in the room with the surgeon, they made me feel pretty comfortable and if you moved or spoke they told you nicely "no talking! " "don't move only 5 more seconds." I thought the machine that creates the flap was probably the MOST uncomfortable part of the whole procedure, as it created A LOT of pressure on the eye and I felt like the machine was on top of my face. The other laser machines were fine, you just have to look at a blinking blurry light and stay still and its done! After the surgery was over, they took you to a very dark room for a little while, and put more numbing drops in your eye if you felt scratchy and pain, which I did. I was set up in another room to rest my eyes and got shields and dark sunglasses to put over my eyes. During this resting time, you could hear patient after patient being prepped and taken into the surgical room and hear the laser machines go to work. It was sort of like an assembly line and I had a hard time flagging someone down because I was in pain, my vision was blurred and it hurt to open my eyes, so it took about 10 minutes to really get someone's attention to get more numbing drops or ask what pain reliever I can take when I get home (really just Tylenol or Advil). Once my ride came to pick me up, I went home to sleep for a few hours, ate something, went back to sleep and used all the eye drops according to their instructions. POST-OP - I experienced extreme light sensitivity, red blood vessels that popped due to the device that stretches your eyelid open, eyes tearing, stinging, soreness, halos around lights at night and difficulty reading for about 3-4 days after the surgery. I went back to work on the 4th day and could barely get any work done due to the brightness of the office lights and difficulty reading the computer screen. A friend of mine did not have any of these side effects after the first day of surgery, so it can really vary by patient. If you are considering this surgery, please ask around, as I did, and get a feel for the results short term, long term, and how long you think you may need to recover. I have been considering LASIK for a long time after wearing contacts and glasses for 20 YEARS! I know in a few weeks I will be so glad I did this and even some people I've spoken to who had it done even 8-10 years ago still rave about LASIK! OVERALL, this office was VERY professional and the doctor was very good and was recommended by my eye doctor. read more

I had my LASIK procedure done yesterday under Dr. Jodi Abramson. Her and her staff were extremely patient and honest with me through the Consultation, Pre-Op, Surgery and first Post-Op this morning. I had many questions that I asked throughout my visits. Even during the procedure itself, Dr. Abramson made sure to tell me exactly what was happening, while it was happening, which made the whole process even more relaxing. Before the procedure, I remember everything being very blurry without my glasses. I had worn contact lenses for nearly four years prior to getting the procedure done, and stopped wearing it a few months before I decided I would go through with it. After day one of the recovery, I can gladly say that I highly recommend anyone who is thinking of going through with this procedure, to do it with Dr. Abramson. You'll be glad you did :) read more

The staff didn't seem sharp an I never ended up even meeting miss abramsom , I was given 2 different evaluations at the office from 2 different optomolgist, 1 said i was good to go an the other 2 weeks later stated I needed further evaluation an sent me off to a 3rd optomologist in yonkers of course having to now pay GHI and a 50.00 co- pay ..I ended up getting tired of the run around and when miss Abramson did call me 6:15 pm the next nite (just before her leaving her office ) I elected to go somewhere else for the eye surgery. Do I really believe she has performed 40.000 lasix surgeries? Of course not those numbers are inflated as the office in white Plains is empty as a cemetery at nite..young staff that doesn't seem to care much nor have much information relating to the surgery other than how to bill you, an a Dr that's only there 1 day a week but won't take the time to see you before the surgery at 5000.00 for 15 min's of work for surgeries done only on Friday means they think there doing you a favor and you should avoid this place read more

When I went into the office it was very clean and professional looking. The staff is very friendly.When I first scheduled a consultation and appointment they were very accommodating and helpful. I got the procedure done and they told me that there is a slight chance that my eyes would not be 20/20, but that if it wasn't that they would fix it. I am completely understanding that on the first shot I was that slight chance percentage that the procedure didn't fix my eyesight to 20/20. What made me give this such a low rating is that after surgery they assured me that they would provide contacts so I could use until they could schedule me for another procedure and that they would get those contacts out to me right away. Two weeks later, 4 phone calls, and numerous messages later I finally had someone tell me that they just mailed off those contacts and that they aren't sure when they are going to get to me. I am scared to schedule my 2nd appointment, because I am pretty sure now that they have received their payment, I am just not important enough to try to help anymore. read more
