The Prescription is the deliverable patients get to do the Eye Exam and that is what we paid for. We called back and they said that is how they do Eye Exam here. They have to charge us for the fitting, before writing a prescription, whereas it is unnecessary as we did Eye Exams every year and nobody is doing this! Both me and wife have got our content lens for years, and we told the Doctor our current contact lens size etc. Excessive billing is throughout the healthcare system and we are disappointed this provider charges for services not only unnecessary but also they did not perform it. We will write a review also in VSP to remind of people - look for another provider! Plus - we tried to look up the Doctor's name in American Academy of Ophthalmologists, and could not even find the name there! PS: - just saw the horrible responses from the Provider on Jan 23 below! I called them several times as nobody answered so I left VM, and they called back with VM but does not answer specially about the item charged. Now they are calling me as harassing. We all discussed my frames at length, particularly a distinctive color on the inside of the frame. I ended up ordering the eyeglasses from that brand anyway because I did like the frames. The assistant manager said it would take 2 weeks to get them in and that they would call me. I went in today after receiving the call a few days ago that the glasses were in. I saw the frames and tried them on and immediately noticed that they were different than the ones I ordered, namely the distinctive color was absent. The assistant manager insisted they are the correct frame as she "wrote it down" and could not recall any frame matching my description. I insisted and suggested calling Garth to ask. I said in the meanwhile, I would like a refund since I have over $350 sitting with you and now we don't even know which frame it is that I wanted. She told me she cannot issue a refund for several reasons and that they would "figure it out." I insisted again and she went to the back office to call someone who confirmed to her that there are in fact frames matching my description and the frames they were giving me were wrong. I again insisted on a refund while I wait to see the correct frames before placing another order. She refused again and went to the back office. A few minutes later, she returned stating that she will give me the refund but that the store "cannot service me again." After a mistake by a store employee, a refusal to make me whole after confirming it was their error, and an eventual reluctant refund, the assistant manager thought it was appropriate to refuse me future service! I like that he takes a scientific approach and is happy to discuss options with me, for example my using daily disposable contacts for two days instead of one (he didn't recommend it but we discussed the risks). He's also changed his mind about some issues based on the latest research, which frankly is uncommon with medical professionals. I never felt any pressure or upselling. He does have the latest machines, but I see them as being to my benefit, for example he has a machine where he can detect macular degeneration and get color images of it. My only complaint is that he's older than I am, so at some point he'll retire and I'll have to find a new eye doctor. Went through that with dentists a couple of times already...

After…read morehaving a very frustrating experience at another Raymond Opticians location, I called Yonkers because I urgently needed help getting my contact lens prescription. Rich truly went above and beyond to help me. He took the time to make sure I received the correct prescription and that I had everything I needed in time. He was incredibly patient, kind, professional and extremely thorough throughout the entire process. What could have continued to be a very stressful and frustrating situation was completely turned around because of Rich. He listened to my concerns, treated me with respect and genuinely seemed to care about helping me resolve the issue. This is exactly what excellent customer service should look like. Rich is an absolute asset to Raymond Opticians, and I cannot thank him enough for his kindness and for going out of his way to help me. Highly recommend the Yonkers location.

I needed an eye exam for my driver's license renewal. I walked into Ardsley Eye Care and was met with smiling faces and a very kind staff. They were able to fit me in for an exam and I met Dr. Wolfe. Wow! The nicest man possible. He gave me a thorough exam and filled out the necessary DMV form - which was then sent electronically to them. (All that was left for me to do was renew/pay for my actual license from my computer at home. The eye exam portion was already being sent by Ardsley Eye Care for me.) The BEST part of the day was when I got home and told my wife about the pleasant and capable care I received with Dr. Wolfe and his staff. She DOES have all sorts of eye care needs...glasses, contact lenses, and regular visits to monitor for her cataracts and potential glaucoma. She has been looking for a new practice for her exams since the existing one has a couple of doctors who are ready to retire. She will be calling Dr. Wolfe's office shortly it make an appointment.
