She rejected the diagnosis of the emergency clinic we had over the weekend, changed course, and we ended up in CSU vet hospital shortly after. We lost our dog, which had he received the right care for his pancreatitis, he would still be here. They knew we took him there, and yet they never called to follow up. I think her ego took over, offended they disagreed with her original diagnosis. She took too long to do blood work, rejected the labs and diagnosis of the emergency vet, and then didn't treat him quickly or effectively. My advice? Go elsewhere.

I showed up to my appointment a little early to fill out the paperwork and was shown into a private waiting room immediately after checking in (which was very nice, as my dog is ... rather high energy. He violated the personal space of a mailman in the mere 25 seconds it took us to check in). The vet tech (I did not get her name) and Dr. Irons were incredible and so great with my dog. They calmed him down and got his vaccinations done before he even knew what had happened and they had plenty of treats on-hand. I was told we were all good that we just needed my vet records from MT. I provided my records, called and verified that they were all good and was told they were. I get a call today telling me one of my dogs was past due on one of his shots and was told not a big deal they can give it to him when he gets there. Keep in mind I got the call today and was supposed to drop dogs off at 10 tomorrow. I get a call around 3 today telling me the lady who called me earlier was wrong and they cant watch the dogs under any circumstance. So 17 hours before my trip they cancel on me I understand the reasoning but had they done there job correctly I would of had 4-5 days to fix the situation instead of 17 hours. Definitely some incompetence somewhere at this place!

I was with my previous vet for several years and grew increasingly tired of feeling like they were…read morescheduling multiple appointments for things that could be done at once and constantly trying to sell me on their Paw Plans. I did try a Paw Plan with one of my pets, and felt like I wasn't saving money and was instead losing it. When I rescued a cat and decided to foster it instead of taking it to the Humane Society, I called my vet to ask about the cost of vaccinations, neutering, and the office visit. She spent several minutes trying to sell me on a Paw Plan and was resistant to just simply naming a price. I felt so frustrated! I decided to call West Winds and the receptionist who answered was incredibly friendly and forthright. She named a neutering price that was $200 less than my previous vet. She didn't try to sell me on any plans. She also booked my appointment more quickly. When I got there, I just felt there was a real warmth to their environment and I loved the kitty greeters in the waiting area! My foster kitty (who became my adoptive kitty) was treated incredibly well and he healed quickly. I'll never switch to another vet. It's so nice to find people who clearly care so much about animals. Very, very happy to have this vet in town!
