They have always taken great care of the dog's needs and have never made recommendations that were not in the best interest of the pet in our family. They are thorough yet affordable and will never recommend expensive solutions that are not necessary. The front desk is friendly and welcoming, and the vet techs are top-notch. I cannot recommend Beltway enough.!

Harley was mine and Chris Myers World, and we were his…read more Harley gave us some of our life's most treasured and savored memories, unconditional love, companionship, a unique and admirable innocence, and loyalty. 4 Paws Pet Clinic was an integral part of our family. All of the folks at 4 Paws gave Harley unprecedented attention and compassion over many years, with such gentleness and care. At no time did we ever feel that 4 Paws was suggesting care for Harley that was anything other than in his best interest. These people are truly animal lovers, all of whom genuinely care deeply and personally about every one of their patients. Everyone at 4 Paws definitely cared as much about Harley as I did. When it was discovered, very suddenly that Harley was ill, he was immediately scheduled by 4 Paws with Oak Creek Veterinary Hospital, and he was admitted for surgery within a couple of hours. Harley had Splenetic Cancer, which had metastasized to his other organs. This is an illness not uncommon, but even with today's technology, it still cannot pinpoint a cause. At 56 days old, Harley became accustomed to falling asleep in my arm, with his head on my shoulder. Every night the ritual of him laying on a shoulder with my arm around him, looking into my eyes as I told him a bedtime story, until he fell asleep never changed. I savored every night. Just 9 1/2 years old seems way too short. But, in that 9 1/2 years, we weren't apart for 72 hours total. Every day, he would lay under my desk as I got through the work that I needed to do, then it was walk time. Harley would scream and tear around the house at words like "walk," "ride in the truck," "go swimming," "rollerblading" and "frisbee." He would never start eating his breakfast or dinner alone. He would only eat after we also sat down to have a meal together. Afterword, the tradition was to sit stubbornly in front of his toy closet until one of us got him a chew toy. I have had the blessings of loving and being loved in my life, but nothing compares to the bond and companionship I had with this sweet little pal, Harley. This little guy will rest in my heart forever... Harley had one hard evening. By 3:00 AM, Harley was telling us that it was time. We drove through the early morning hours to arrive at 4 Paws at 7:00 AM. They immediately took him in, handled him with such gentleness and care, and provided him with such a peaceful and dignified cross over the Rainbow Bridge. There was not a dry eye at 4 Paws. They are so caring and such wonderful people. Thank you all at 4 Paws for helping us in our greatest time of need. We all will hold Harley in our hearts.

First time visiting this humane society location end of last week…read more It was a bit of a drive but well worth the hike. My first thoughts upon pulling into the facility - the landscaping + buildings were well maintained. Once I walked in and toured the facility, I noticed how Clean everything is - inside and out. All of the animals have a set routine/schedule of when they go outside, eat, play, etc. The various cat rooms are oober comfy for all the cats hanging out and chillin, and the dogs have fresh water, clean cages, and are given lots of love. I did not take home any pets on my visit but next time I am in the market for another plus one to add to my family, I will start looking at the Nassau Humane Society first! I love that this is a no kill shelter and they get most of their funding through donations at their second hand clothing shop, furniture/home shop, etc. The staff on duty when I visited were all very friendly and answered every question I had. I'm looking forward to visiting again.

I brought my cat in recently for a wellness visit and to figure out why he wasn't going poop as…read morefrequently. I had a family member bring him to the vet on a Friday and I called in to ask Dr Ross questions. I was informed we would have to bring him back for a urinalysis where they would give him Gabapentin and put a needle into his bladder to extract the urine. I also was required to get a fecal sample. That Monday, the tech said his bloodwork was clean. I advised I would call Tuesday and set up the urinalysis. I called 5 times and left a voice mail each time. I will give them benefit of the doubt that their phones were not working since everything they said to me after seems to be false. I called on Wednesday and was told to bring his litter box for the urinalysis and a water bowl. I quickly corrected her and she said she misunderstood what a urinalysis was. It's basic vet terminology. Thursday rolls around and I go to drop him off. I walk in and let the receptionist (Natalie I think?) know I'm dropping off my cat off for his urinalysis and I had a fecal sample but was unsure of what time Tuesday/Wednesday (I got home late Tuesday so I didn't have a chance to collect anything) he dropped it in the litter box. She looked at me like I offended her and told me what I have isn't good enough and I need to do it again and I need to wait for a tech. I politely ask how long since I had to rush to work and she snapped at me saying she had no idea. 20 minutes later Jamie? Walked In and I advised that since they have my cat they could try and get the fecal sample since the receptionist said it wasn't good enough. She said they would try and I said if you need to keep him longer to do that it's okay. 4-5 hours go by and I hadn't heard any update. The person I spoke with made it seem like he had been ready for a while so I let my family member know that he could go pick up my cat. They require us to give him Gabapentin before his next appointment since he was agitated during the urinalysis. They didn't even give him Gabapentin for the procedure! I asked them about it when they called with the results they weren't sure at first why but come to find out he was "already stressed"and they "didn't want to try and give him something to calm him". I asked realistically if a vet can't administer a medication how do you expect the owners to and they gave half a$$ excuses. I go to pick up the prescription for urinary and when I asked why it said stressed on the prescription they tried to explain that he has crystals because he is stressed. Dr Ross came out and told me she wrote the right prescription and that she knows what she is doing. She may think she knows what she's doing but she does not know anything about compassion and customer care. On my way out I saw a sticker they had that said "Toxic vibes will be force fed" I guess they really took that to heart. Also, my family member asked Dr Ross a question regarding our dog's allergy shot and she flat out ignored him!! They were the only two humans in the room. The next Monday, they texted me his fecal came back good. I called around 2pm and left a voice mail. They continued to text me and I asked for someone to please call me. No one called. I go in as they are finishing a meeting (after 5pm) to get his results and asked if their phones are broke again. They said they were in a meeting and I asked if that meeting started at 2 when I called. They didn't seem concerned with the fact they had a customer,who has received poor service for days, saying they have issues with communication and showed where I called at 2pm. They brushed me off again! At that point, it clicked and I told them that they don't fucking care. That Tuesday, I received my file and a termination of service. I found several things that were inaccurate or not even addressed with me. I promptly took him to another vet who said that he DIDN'T HAVE CRYSTALS! They especially said he didn't need to be on any prescription diet. This vet office has gone downhill since the previous vet retired and they only care about money!

Do NOT go to this vet if you care about your pet's life. Two of my pets have experienced fatal…read morehealth conditions in which one of them did not make it. One of my cats came for a simple dental cleaning and unfortunately passed during the procedure as no pre-anesthetic blood work or cardiac exams were done to identify any risks. She suffered a pulmonary embolism and passed that day. I brought my other cat as well for a skin concern and they did not notify me about her drastic weight loss, jaundice or fluid in her lungs. My cat was lethargic and not eating/drinking. Due to the staff's lack of concern or observation, i immediately took my cat to Forever Vets which they diagnosed her with FIP ( a fatal condition if not treated properly) in which they immediately provided us with medication and a treatment plan. My cat was on the brink of death and Animal hospital of oceanway was unable to detect/diagnose anything. I advise all pet owners who currently go here to go elsewhere. Plus charging $45 for a fecal exam that you have to collect at home is ridiculous, even if you forget to bring it. FYI Forever Vets can do it there and for cheaper!

Unfortunately, both of them suffered from serious infections and complications due to improperly sterilizing surgery equipment and surgery protocol to prevent staph infections which both experienced within the first 24 hours after surgery and had to be taken to the emergency clinic. With all of the surgery, medications,emergency clinic, etc. they spent over $11,000. Since this was all due to the surgeries, they requested some compensation and were denied. So, no responsibility or accountability was taken. Needless to say, they have lost a loyal client! I'm posting this as a precautionary warning for pet owners.

Emmy is very high maintenance but Amanda will do everything and more with no complaints. And for a very fair price. Emmy loves going to Amanda's because she knows she will be cared for and attended to. Amanda knows each dog by name and personality, and she is always patient, attentive, and professional. She will send photo updates throughout the day so I can see our little Emmy having fun with the other dogs. Amanda's space is clean, safe, and spacious for all dog sizes. Emmy always comes home tired but happy which is great for her and us. I can't recommend enough.
