Over the past few months, Carmen's work with me has significantly improved how I feel throughout the day. With her training, I've discovered entire groups of muscles I never even knew I had. Mainly in my back. Building them up has made keeping decent posture easier throughout the day. That's my primary goal and it's clearly happening. I hold myself differently and feel more comfortable, especially at my shoulders and lower back. My lower back pain is gone. I sleep better and feel more confident walking around. Carmen has a real intuition for the body's movement, reminding me of my ballerina sister. Carmen can tell just by watching when something is off. You might have to circle a bit to find parking, but it's not bad at all considering how many shops and businesses are right next door. If you happen to have kiddos joining you, the studio offers to watch them in a designated indoor play space while you get your barre on (schedule permitting). Compared to other barre3 studios that I've tried in the past, the classes at this location feel like a much better workout. The movements are more comprehensive, more challenging, and will definitely work you out no matter your fitness level. I love the variety of hand weights and resistance bands that are used, and how every exercise can be modified to meet your body's needs. When I signed up, there was a promotion going on and the referring member never received what was promised. I forgave that, but it's not how you should do business. Incident number 2 -- I was sent out of the country and needed to pause my member, which is a great feature of OTF. However, I called the Lakeway studio no less than 3 times, leaving messages. None were ever returned. #FRUSTRATING and a loss of money for me. Incident number 3 - I moved from Austin area. Called twice. Of course, for a second time, my initial message was not returned. When I did reach someone (I think her name was Courtney) she was HORRID. I very nicely explained the situation and that I needed to cancel my membership do to moving. She said that she couldn't do that on the phone and that I had to come into the studio. I stated that I couldn't do that as I was no longer in Austin. She said I was being 'hostile.' WTF. I most certainly was not being hostile in any manner. She did go on to process my request while I was on the phone -- sending me a DocuSign. Something she just said she couldn't do. She was not polite nor was she professional during the entire process. Incident number 4 - raised prices even though I was locked into an evergreen price. #NotCool. Overall, I love OTF. Great coaches. Great programs. Great system. I love going to all the OTFs across the country, but NOT the one in Lakeway. #Unprofessional #Rude #Unkind are the nicer words of how I would describe Lakeway. Great location. Nice members. I loved using the reformer/light strength/stretching combination!
