It's a rainy, icy, yuck day..and I really needed a shellac mani and pedi to cure my blues! My sister owns a salon so I typically get my shellac done there, but it's a Wednesday after work so I didn't want to drive the half hour to her salon. I choose TM Nail because it's down the street from my house, which was perfect for after work. Of course, being a Yelper, I read the reviews first and called right away for a 5pm appointment! I'll start with the pros: FREE WINE! OK, they had me at free wine. :) Also, the inside is super cute and there seems to be a lot of regulars there! Cons: the man doing my nails gouged my finger while trimming my cuticles. My finger bled for 15 minutes, this wasn't just a small knick. He was extremely apologetic, but my finger hurts and I already have a scab forming. Also, I was charged $7 more than the quoted price and was in and out after only one hour and 15 minutes. I expected more time to be spent on my nails. Overall, it was average. I will give them a second try in the future since they're so close to home and hopefully that experience will be better! I will not go there again. My first experience was not good. My pedicurist, although claiming 18 years experience did not pay attention to what she was doing while chatting constantly with her neighboring worker. She hurriedly trimmed and sanded my nails and left calluses. I tried to point to a problem nail I had, and she brushed my hand away. She did a sloppy job, not painting my now uneven nails completely, and then when the large toe got smeared, she patched it up and it looked lumpy until my next pedicure. Needless to say. Stopped in without an appointment for a manicure with a girlfriend. No problem fitting us in. The staff was quite friendly, and the salon was tastefully decorated. A little pricey, but a nicer ambiance than your typical nail place. I had three different people work on my nails, and I was not 100% satisfied with the final coat put on my the third person. He did not go to the edges of each nail, so it was not an even coat. Overall a nice experience, but would have preferred the same person who did my first coat to do my second, therefore ensuring a consistent color. read more

I walked in with a friend who was getting ready for her wedding day. We got fantastic manicures and pedicures. The staff was incredibly nice and did an amazing job (my nails have never looked so good for so long after having them done). My friend needed a lot of extra things done, and they stayed an hour and a half after closing to help us. They were incredibly kind about it, and I really appreciate how kind and professional they were. The salon is cute, and they provide a drink while you're having your nails done. If they are busy, they are up front with you, and will tell you to come back a specific time where they can adequately accommodate you. They always have the new nail polishes from opi, which I love. I went to this salon for the first time today and absolutely loved it! Why? Well first off, they are reasonably priced. I got a pedicure and it was good - included all the usual treatments. But the main reason I was such a big fan - wine! Yes, that's correct - with your nail services, they offer drinks including water, soda or wine completely free! This is my go to place for mani pedis. There is never a wait more than 5 minutes and everybody is nice and helpful. I come in every 2-3 weeks and I get a hearty "hello how are you" as I walk in and am immediately led to a nail technician. They have a variety of colors and services and there's always some cool movie playing on the tv towards the back. They even have mini pedicure seats for kids! The only request I have, and I think it's because I go all the time, is for them to have name tags or something. It's not a big deal, but something TM Nails might want to consider in the future. read more

I went here with my friend to get a full set. The person who did my nails was nice however I didn't like my nails at all. I asked for coffin shape and showed a picture of what I wanted. Unfortunately, my nails were cut too short for me to get what I wanted in the picture and the price they said my nails were going to be was expensive. I continued to let the guy know I didn't like the shape and I told him I wanted a sharper look because my nails looked rounded. He told me it was going to look better at the end. He finished and I still wasn't satisfied. So I asked for the manager. She is a very nice lady. She fixed my nails and I walked out a satisfied customer. I was told I can come back within two weeks and get anything fixed. I broke four nails by a few days later and went back. Another person fixed them however my nails were not the same length as the rest and they are begging to crack. The next day, one nail that was fixed broke again. This a a nice salon but if you want to get acrylic nails I do not suggest. read more

I have gone here since they opened. They have gone through a management change but the service remains the same. I would recommend this place to anyone and they have the most shellac options out of anywhere I have been in Raleigh. The decor is great and the technicians are extremely accommodating to any requests. I would recommend making an appointment especially on a Saturday, because they do get pretty busy! They play movies but they use closed captioning so you are not required to watch the movies showing. They have plenty of magazines available or you can chat with your technician. Accommodating to a walk in, I had a nice gentleman technician- do not know his name but after a long week of traveling and wearing heels, they took me right in. I moved to Raleigh in Nov, leaving behind a great manicurist in NY. Since then I've been trying in vain to find someplace to do my nails as good (or close) to how they used to look. I FINALLY found the place. This place is great, and they PAMPER you, no sooner did I sit down then they asked me if I want something to drink, and while getting a pedi, they brought me magazines to read without even asking. They have modern massage chairs to sit in and the pedicure was sooooo good. Then my nails were done, it was awesome, my nails look great!! I am just so happy, and he was quick too. Back in Rochester, my nails were done in 45 minutes, same here. Every place else I tried around here was 1.5 - 2 hours, and my nails just never looked good. I can't recommend this place enough. I love this place. I go quite often to get my nails done and they do a fantastic job every time. Both the male and female technicians are great- they are very thorough and they always take their time. I know there are some reviews about cuticle cuts but as often as I go this has never happened to me, and I've been going there for a long time. I also get my eyebrows waxed there and they always turn out beautiful. The complimentary drinks just add to the great service and shows that customer service is their number one priority. I have been going to TM Nail spa since they opened many years ago now. They have always given great service and my nails have never looked better than when I go there to get them done. I see Lee every two weeks for my nails and around once a month for a pedicure. She has gotten to know what I love and she never has to ask what I'd like. She suggests colors she knows I will like and always does a constantly beautiful job on my nails and toes. My mother and grandmother frequent TM with me and love Christine and Sherry! Quite possibly the worst experience I ever had. The "natural" lashes turned out to be uneven and and thick. The lady put on dramatic drag queen lashes then wanted others to validate whether they were pretty or not after I offered to pay for applying them and removal. She offered to brush on more glue to fix them up... That obviously didn't work and they turned out uglier. The removal process was hell and when the last lash was out, she drop removal on my lash bed then walked away. When I opened my eye, it burned horribly. I had to go to the bathroom sink immediately to use the faucet as an emergency eyewash. At this point, I'm thankful to still have my vision but I'm not thrilled about paying $50 for the agonizing pain. I'm left with clumps of glue all over my lashes. read more

I got their Milk & honey sea scrub spa pedicures. They have 8 pedicure spa chairs with digital controls and a headset for music, 2 kid pedicure chairs, 8 manicure chairs, a big flat screen tv, and 3 chandeliers! There are rooms in the back for waxing, facials, and massage, ect. Very high end looking, very clean, lots of space. The girl took a long time with me. She could have used firmer pressure but the leg scrub was gentle (didn't feel like my skin was burning). I didn't give it 5 becase it didn't blow me away but it is a really good nail salon read more

I don't know what's the hype about this place because I would never go back . Got a pedi and a shalac Mani when I went , and the guy who did it for me , I felt like he was not happy . Gave me an attitude the whole time , I came in at 5:40 , so it's not like I came last min when they close at 7. Anyways I did my pedi and I want to go do my nails and he rushed . It became 6:50 and he started huffing and Buffing like the f ? But that's the least of my problems . The shalac nail polish didnt even stay on 2 days and it started chipping . I called and I made an appointment to get it fixed . When I came in they were doing some 20% off and that there was new management so I said oh cool. Sike . The new manager didnt know what he was doing , got shalac stuck on my skin and some nails darker than the other . He tried to fix it but still looked like shxt. This is day 3 and they chipped again !! I wasted 60 dollars for what? Some chipped nails ? I gave them 2 stars for at least trying but they suck big time !!
