I came in by appointment with my boyfriend for his first clear coat mani/pedi that was supposed to cheer me up as I was grieving. The pedicure was great but the manicure was not. After we finished our pedicures at the same time they took him to get his mani (knowing what we both wanted) and his manicure was finished before anyone even came over to greet me. They also sat us on separate sides of the room. Not ideal, but whatever. The girl who did my manicure rushed through the entire thing and was not very kind. I also have a bone disease and told her I have to be careful because my hand won't turn at certain angles. She was rough and careless despite this. These looked nothing like the inspo pic I gave. The shape was wonky and clumpy and I walked out paying over $200 for these, a pedicure, and a men's basic mani/pedi w/ clear coat. When I tried to comment minor corrections as we kept going the woman was gaslighting me and made me feel uncomfortable for speaking up. I noticed she didn't do anything to my cuticles but kept expecting her to do it later on. By the time it was too late she was already very frustrated so I felt bad asking. When I got to the counter and the price was so high, I said- does this not include a manicure for my cuticles? (I asked for a full manicure with dip polish) and she said no, that'd it'd be extra. I'm sorry, why would you expect a client to assume that a manicure is not included when they come in... asking for a manicure.... I was so uncomfortable I paid and left, but I wish I hadn't. I wanted to enjoy a nice day off but this was one of the most frustrating experiences I've had at a salon. read more

This is a freshly done pedicure and manicure. The tech was so busy talking and not doing her job and when I called the manager she said they tech did her best and that I only got the basic and it didn't include extra callus. Cuticles undone, feet left like that with all the dead skin, manicure looks like I've don't it a week ago with all this space. She offered that I go back to the salon "now"which is 30 mins away and fix it but I can't go back because I'm traveling t. And she wouldn't refund me my money for the service I paid for and didn't get it done right. read more

This is where I typically go to get my nails done in downtown Raleigh. However, the last couple of times I have been I have not been as satisfied. I get SNS and while it initially looked great, my nails have started to chip within a week and a half. Typically when I get SNS they last up to three weeks. Staff is very nice but I will probably start to go elsewhere for long lasting nails. read more

Linda did a great job with my dip powder with tips. She was very thorough to make sure every nail looked fantastic and dimensional, which I love! I found it is hard to find a nail tech that makes your nails dimensional and shapely and she did just that! She also did a great pedicure and I am super pleased and will be back with her next time! I'm so impressed. I've spent the past couple months trying different nail places around raleigh and none of them seem to hit all the right boxes the way seaboard nails does. A friend recommended seaboard nails so i decided to give them a shot. The pictures below are from the second time i went. But the first time i went they were just as good. They gave me a wrong color but i wasn't even mad because they did such a great job. The nail techs are very kind. Not superficial and i enjoy that they seem to be friends with each other, too. I purposefully got my nails done this second time with someone different and i was still very pleased with the way they came out. You go in, tell them what you'd like to get done and they sit you down rather quickly. You pick a color and off you go. I usually do gel manicures. They do offer you a beverage when you sit down which is pretty normal. They also massage your hands and forearms. My first experience there was not the best. I went back three different times for them to try and salvage the young lady's work, but nothing helped. I gave them another chance for my birthday and it was a little better. I had been going to the same nail salon for years and I felt they were taking me for granted and wanted to find another salon. This place was phenomenal. I came on a Tuesday(without an appointment) and only had to wait 15 minutes! The ladies were super nice and helpful as well offering me a drink while I waited. I knocked a few stars off because the pricing is not the same as on their website but more expensive. The acrylic fill in says it's $22, but it is actually $26, and they charged $5 to cut my nails down. I wish they would have told me that there was an extra charge and I would have cut them down myself! But, I do admit I love my nails. read more

As a former Spa Owner, I was very disappointed by experiencing disrespect from the employees, a lack of hospitality and most importantly, deplorable sanitation conditions. Understand the cultural component but there was no level of hospitable service. Rushing clients to seats, a turn and burn mentality, nothing welcoming and overall this establishment had a very shady atmosphere. Everything is dirty, unclean, and the UV sanitation boxes were not even on. Additionally, while getting a pedicure, the lady used a cuticle tool to open the plastic bag covering the bowl to drain the water. In the process, she was scrapping the rusty drain and submerging other tools in the dirty water, subsequently, attempting to use the same unsanitary tool on me. I refused the service and left, almost immediately they replaced my seat with a young girl, never changing the tools that was in the dirty water and also used on me. Poor girl! This is unsettling and against so many NC heath codes. I highly recommend not to go here! Lastly, for customer awareness, nail salons that don't implement safe sanitation procedures and practices, like this one, can cause warts, fungus, and even hepatitis. For the owners, shame on you. read more

Being from out of town I was looking for a good & clean place for nails before New Years. My aunt recommended Michelle at this salon to me & I was able to make an appointment easily. The nail salon itself is beautiful & new. The chandeliers in the middle add a touch of class & luxury to the place that we all want while getting pampered. Although Michelle wasn't able to be there for my appointment due to an emergency. The ladies available were very accommodating. I felt very relaxed and pampered the whole time I was there. My nails were perfectly done to my liking & the prices are reasonable. The attention to details and professionalism was absolutely wonderful. Love this salon. I have visited it twice and both times I was pleased. Called and made my appointment on the same day both times and was able to get service. The ladies I had were very friendly and often checked in with me to make sure I was comfortable and didn't need anything. I will say that I don't know if it's the polish and lights or just the technique but their gel polish lasts the longest out of any salons I have frequented. I wash my hands what seems like 1,000,000 times a day and the first time I got my nails done the polish never chipped and hasn't thus far the second time around. Definitely plan on making this my go to spot for nails. read more

I got a really poor pedicure here today, and I just left instead of asking them to fix it because I was uncomfortable with their distancing measures--when I left, there were 5 people in the waiting area... They have barriers at all the stations, including the pedicure stations, but when you're getting a manicure, you're back is up to the technician giving a pedicure. They're using every other manicure/pedicure station, so they're trying, but it's a narrow space. Overall, it was not an enjoyable experience, and this is not a "deluxe" looking pedicure. read more

I used to go to them all the time with my grandmother until they started treating us differently. Making us wait extra long for our scheduled appointments. I always asked for the gel mani for my gran and they never gave her a gel mani. They always added acrylic nails which she didn't want. Well today took the cake. My aunt went to get a pedicure and the nail tech told her, her feet were too Black for pink nail polish. Now for someone who spends over $100+ there every time we go, why is it even necessary for them to tell her this. She is a dark skinned woman and knows what her skin color looks like, to have someone say she can't have a certain nail polish because she is too Black!!!!!!! Well they have lost my business, my gran's business, my aunt's business and my mom's business. We will never visit this establishment again and I will never recommend them to anyone I know. The place was clean and beautiful, and they had several sanitary and COVID-19 safety measures in place, which I really appreciated! I've been here twice for a pedicure in recent months mainly because of the convenience of the location for me. While the staff is friendly and efficient, both times the polish I chose just happened to be $5 extra, which I was told about after I was in the chair with my feet in the tub. The first time I questioned it and was told the polish I selected would last longer. It seemed that it did, but when this happened a second time and it was just regular OPI polish and it didn't last a week, I now know this is some type of price gauging. I won't go back. read more

I've gotten about15-20 gel manicures here over the past 2-3 years. Overall, I think it's a great salon, and my best gel manis have all been from here. Most of the time they start chipping around the 2-3 week mark, which is better than average for me (at most other places I always chip by day 10 or so). They do a really good job here with cuticle clean up and prepping the nails. The polish selection is excellent, facilities are nice, and I rarely have to wait (I do try to go at non-peak hours). However, I've had a few manicures here that were subpar and keep it from being 5 stars. Like another yelper, I had one technician who was really rude to me about how horribly dry and ragged my cuticles are. Like I get it, I live with them, I know they suck. And yes, I've tried vaseline and gloves. I'm used to people commenting on them once or twice, but she kept going. I also had one employee with a sweaty palms problem. Like not just slightly damp, but profusely dripping sweat for the entire manicure. I'm not easily grossed out, but this literally made me nauseous and I couldn't get out of there fast enough. I felt really bad for the woman because she was very nice and did an otherwise good manicure, but she's going to drive customers away and I bet the owners/management don't even realize the problem. Aside from those two bigger issues, I've also had a few manicures that just weren't as great and didn't last 2 weeks. I have a hard time paying for gel manicures when they chip after a week. I think basically the long-term employeeswho are always here are really excellent, but the newer rotating ones aren't at the same level, and they're who I often get because the regular clients reserve the best technicians. read more

It was a Wednesday afternoon so it wasn't very busy. I got the deluxe pedi and it was great. They use this hot oil that has a wonderful smell. I ran out of time and was unable to stay for a mani. I've been to Seaboard Nails a handful of times, and I've always found them to be wonderfully accommodating and pleasant. I don't do nail art, just mani/pedi usually using gel colour. It's definitely a bit more expensive to do gel, but the savings in time is worth it to me. What really stands out to me is how good they are to one another and the clientele! Yesterday, I got their specialty pedicure Mango and a manicure. About 20 minutes into the pedicure, I started getting terrible cramps and was possibly the worst state I could be in while trying to relax. Three of the manicurists started attending to me, getting me hot tea, heading pads, water... And just being kind and patient while I tried to work through it. It was late in their day, and I'm sure it wasn't helping them close or any quicker, but they showed genuine concern and care. I was there a little under 2 hours for the whole thing. It normally is quicker, I'd say about 90 minutes for both. read more

After reading mostly great reviews- I decided to switch salons and try this one out. Those great reviews must be a little outdated. I spent my relaxing pedicure experience getting my nails done at the same time since they decided that if I wanted both I had to get it done in the chair. Other clients were receiving separate mani and pedi services, and no one else was getting their nails worked on during their pedicure. I pride myself in being patient and understanding- but they really pushed my buttons with the way they handled my experience. I was also given two different nail techs- one of which answered the phone the entire time she was working on my nails. I felt very unwanted as a client. Finally, the paint job lasted about 24 hours.. bummer. read more

Very busy last Sunday, but they worked me in. My only complaint was that my manicure was a little sloppy. The clear coat wasn't brushed on the the edge of the nail so it created a crack in the polish where it cut off. The polish or the top coat also created bubbles in the finished dry nail which was less than appealing. read more

A good spot when i'm crunched on time and can't get to my normal salon. Seaboard Nails is beside William Peace University and thus is very convenient to downtown. The space is large, clean and stylish (and there's plenty of parking too!). Service was fine, a bit of a wait but I was checked on a couple times and offered a beverage while I waited. My gel manicure was good, it lasted just under two weeks which isn't crazy impressive (i've seen 3+ after some manicures), but that entire time it looked great. The color selection wasn't quite as vast as my normal salon and I ended up paying a bit over $30 for the entire manicure which was more than my usual spot too. All in all the experience didn't blow me away, but it was good. I was happy and i'm sure i'll be back if i'm in a crunch. read more
