REASONS TO HIRE JACK: 1) He is SUPER responsive, lightning fast! He is quick and to the point, no BS, which is such a breath of fresh air. 2) To quote my wedding planner, he pretty much does every single Asian wedding in Los Angeles, and we tend to be super picky... enough said. 3) We didn't shop around at all before hiring Jack, but in our opinion what he delivered was more than well worth the money. 4) He's done this so many times, he just gets it. I remember once asking him if I needed drapery for my wedding at the Casa del Mar in Santa Monica,but instead of making an easy sell and saying "its a good idea", he told me that he doesn't think that the Casa del Mar needed drapery since the ballroom itself is beautiful as is!! I recently got married in Los Angeles in a venue that was practically a shell. I knew I needed lots of lighting and drapery to bring my venue to life. If you do not think lighting is important, think again. It made my venue 10 times better and it turned out perfect. My planner and I researched a few companies and Jack from TmmPro was the quickest to respond with the best price. TmmPro is a one stop shop and they accept all major credit cards, that was a plus for me. I used them for white drapes, Chivari chairs, super clean white dance floor and lighting. They also offered DJ and MC services (Mandarin and English, no Cantonese) I was very impressed with the final outcome and happy to have worked with TmmPro. One con side was that as it got closer to the wedding, we had to wait a few days out to get the final invoice. While shopping around for different vendors for my June 8th wedding, I had no doubt who would be my DJ, assuming he was available as he has a very packed schedule. TMM Pro was our lighting vendor at Cafe Pinot in Downtown LA. Jack was extremely responsive and had worked at the venue plenty of times before, so he knew what needed to be done and what would work best. All of our guests LOVED the lighting (we did bistro lights up above the reception area and hanging string lights from the trees surrounding the reception tables) and it made the whole space feel very romantic, cozy, and intimate without being stuffy. Seriously, woohoo! This is as good as it gets. Jack Hou was our DJ/MC and his company also did the lighting for our wedding in September. Everything went super smoothly and people said it was THE BEST WEDDING EVER and I have no doubt Jack gets some credit for that! DJ/MC: Jack was super professional, but more than that he was FUN. Being the A-Type person/bride that I am, I met with Jack for a consultation after reading stellar reviews on Yelp and discussed what we wanted in December, 10 months before our wedding. He was polite, professional, and actually seemed excited about our wedding. Plus, his response time to phone calls or emails was lighting fast, I'm talking at most 1 day to respond, sometimes I would get replies from him via emails 10 minutes later. That proved to be super convenient since I was planning this LA wedding from NYC, but Jack was able to meet with us in person 3 times whenever I requested and respond to my numerous emails / calls with great professionalism and lightning fast speed. He listened to what we wanted and made great suggestions (doing first dances at the beginning so we could get them out of the way and not be anxious the rest of the night). One thing I asked for was an anniversary dance to get the older folks and family friends on the dance floor and I listed a slow romantic song to be played. When the time came for the anniversary dance, I was confused and annoyed at first that he played Mambo #5 (a fast song) instead. But, Jack was right - the song got the crowd going and was much more exciting to dance to than a slow song would have been. The anniversary dance couples were tearing up the dance floor - it was awesome to see them have so much fun! I realized Jack knew what the crowd and I wanted better than I did! He also played awesome music during the whole reception that was a great mix and perfect for the crowd. Guests at the wedding (both the older family friends / relatives and younger friends / cousins) said our DJ was awesome. Lighting: We had our reception at Monterey Hill in the Grand Ballroom. If you've ever been there and seen it without all the decorations or lighting, it's a pretty ordinary room - big and spacious, but with low ceilings and no ornate decorations, carvings, or pillars. I had seen some photos from other weddings at Monterey Hill where the lighting and decor looked OK, but wasn't great, so I was worried that the venue wouldn't look that good or be able to achieve the look I was going for. I was hoping Jack could work some magic. Jack did the lighting with color-changing uplighting on the pillars/walls around the room and it looked AMAZING. The lights shifted from blush pink to deeper pink to purple in such a pretty way. I had discussed the concept with Jack before the wedding but the way the room looked surpassed my wildest dreams. I'll post some photos up after I get them back from our photographer, but trust me, the room looked incredible. He also did a custom gobo for us with our names, date, and a Chinese double happiness sign and it looked great, too. Despite my worries that the low ceiling in the ballroom would be an issue, the gobo placement on the wall was perfect and the whole effect on the room was beautiful. During our initial conversation I had asked about pin lighting on centerpieces or the cake and Jack went to our venue to take a look on his own, and then recommended against them since our ceiling was lower. I had also thought about gobo patterns on the dance floor, which he also recommended against due to the low ceiling. I appreciated the fact that he really had our best interests at heart and wanted the place to look great, and didn't try to oversell us on additional things we didn't need. Truly, the ballroom looked so awesome that a couple of the people from the other wedding going on in the ballroom next to ours stopped by our door to stare at it, exclaiming, "Wow, this wedding is *really* nice..." My MOH told me she had to kick people out because they then came back and tried to crash our wedding - yes, it was THAT beautiful! Bottom line - Jack was awesome and I would totally recommend him to anyone. He'll be our go-to lighting specialist / DJ for any other major event we might have. The only thing I would have changed is I wish he featured our wedding on his blog to show the transformation of before and after. Hopefully he'll feature our wedding at some point just to satisfy my own vanity, haha! read more

During the consultation, Jack was very helpful in suggesting what type of lighting I should use to create the ambiance that I wanted. He knew exactly what I wanted and delivered. :) Also, Jack was nice enough to do a walk-through with me at my venue (Bel Air Bay Club in Pacific Palisades) a month before our meeting, and even helped me to negotiate & waive cost of using our venue's mic system with the venue director & coordinator! Through this whole planning process, Jack was never pushy and he never tried to upsell his services (like many of the other vendors I had consulted with). Loved working with Jack for my wedding. i used TMMPRO for lighting only Very passionate guy, provided Awesome service from that very first email. Jack and his crew made my wedding look beautiful. My venue had ugly wood paneling across 1 long wall, at leaast 150 ft long, that took away from the beautiful downtown LA view. He was able to uplight it with LEDs (that changed colors throughout the night, my favorite was the purple) that people don't even remember that wooden wall! i also got some additional uplights, pinspot the centerpiece/ sweet heart table/ cake table, custom designed monogram on dance floor. he knew the venue very well, made appropriate recommendations & was a pleasure to work with. i love people who are passionate about their job. he's been to practically every wedding venue in socal, & really knows his stuff. i appreciated that his pricing was upfront, and beat the other lighting vendors i've contacted. So I finally got the chance to work with Jack on a school event and it was amazing. Jack understands exactly what a party needs and how to get everyone involved. My school administration was very impressed with Jack, especially how he got a variety of people on the dance floor, young adults and elderly family members all dancing at the same time. The school told me that no one has danced at an event in recent years and they could not believe that Jack got so many people on the dancefloor. My husband and I hired Jack and his team for lighting services at our June 2011 wedding at South Coast Winery. We were very pleased with their service and professionalism. Jack went out of his way to visit our site before any contracts were signed to get an idea of the venue and lighting needed. We met once to discuss our ideas and vision of the event and he offered his professional opinion as well. Our communication was mainly through email, which he was quick to respond. We also rented two projector screens to play our slideshow. We requested two pattern designs to display on large blank walls, as well as our names and wedding date to light up the dance floor. Both were absolutely beautiful. We received so many compliments from our guests how beautiful the venue was and all the little details. Jack and his team came on time, had everything set-up by the time reception started. I also don't see what the big deal is with requesting a hot meal. I would have asked them anyways if they wanted a meal even if it weren't in the contract. Yes, you are already paying them for their service, but if you go a little extra, your vendors will too. I have no complaints and would definitely recommend him, as I was recommended by one of my friends. Contacted Jack and was SO lucky he was able to help us out on such short notice and especially since he already had like more than 5 weddings to do that day.
