They spent a lot of time prepping the house, and it really showed; the house looked beautiful when they were done. They were pleasant to have around, and cleaned up well every day. We also hired them to paint the exterior and interior of a commercial building, and to refinish and stain the windows and doors. Again, their attention to detail was amazing. The owners, Eric & Kylee arrived on time the following morning for the bid, and within a day they were starting the process of prepping the room for paint (wiping down walls/door/baseboard/crown molding), caulking all the trim/door jambs and removing fixtures and light switch/outlet covers, moving things to the center of the room and covering with plastic. (As a side note I would add that Eric and Kylee work SO well together, feeding off of each other's talents and knowledge). They are meticulous and thorough in their work and take great pride in their craft, answering questions as they work, using the best quality paint and taking the utmost care of your home in the process. There was no cutting corners here, it was quality work, product and professionalism here through the entire project. They gave 100%+ all the way! Background: Our Ravenna Tudor needed a new roof. The old roof shingles were probably the cheapest…read moreasphalt, and when we would have the roof cleaned, the cleaners were saying that they were significantly decayed. We contacted 4 companies, and received 3 quotes. Tekline came out but never quoted. The most expensive quoter got on the roof, and wanted an absurd amount of money because he said the pitch was so steep, and then started talking about permitting (which isn't required for residential roofs). The least expensive (the top rated company here on yelp) came in at an absurdly low price after doing a once over with a drone. I know a little about material costs, and they said the job would take 3 days minimum, and unless they were paying their guys less than minimum wage, their quote made no sense. I found Orlando through a reddit discussion board, where a guy who owned a few commercial buildings said that Rivera Roofing did a good job for him and also did residential. Orlando is the owner, and he came out, climbed out on the roof and explained what was going on, what he would do, gave us a quote that made sense. We also discovered that the previous roof install did not include soffits. Instead, they had put a bunch of box vents (exhale), and then a ridge vent (also exhale), a combination that did not let proper air circulation. He suggested smart vents (inhale) and ridge vent (exhale). He also suggested Malarkey as a superior product. We went with him, and we are glad we did. When his crew pulled back the old roof, the osb wasn't properly fitted along the valleys, with all sorts of small pieces jury-rigged in to small gaps. There was also mold on the board, and really the only thing saving us from leaks and a major disaster was that the pitch of the roof was so steep. We replaced all the OSB with new plywood, redid the trim around the skylights, put in the Malarkey Windsor Architectural shingles, the new venting system, and the house looks great. The crew worked hard, and Orlando checked in at every step of the process. His nephew ran our crew and communication was great and the work seemed really thorough, as was the cleanup. We used Tekline on our previous house in Montlake, and I have to say the process and the pricing with Rivera was more to our liking.

He did come the first day for an hour, and for a short time on the last day. We hired him to paint the whole first floor of our home after we had a remodel, including ceiling, walls, doors, trim, and a bathroom cabinet. Nearly everything went wrong: 1. All of the walls were painted in eggshell finish instead of satin. 2. They dropped heavy tools many times, and put two holes in our brand new flooring. 3. Instead of 2 coats, there was only one coat on the walls, and we have had to repaint much of it ourselves because there were many unpainted spots. 4. Somehow they managed to smash one of our brand new decorative vent covers (they ultimately agreed to pay for a replacement after we asked 3 separate times). 5. The painters stripped the threads on all the screws in the garage house entry door hinges -- we had to fix that ourselves. 6. They didn't paint the trim in some parts of the house. 7. They dumped their paint rollers in the remaining cans of paint -- we discovered this when we had to open the cans to repaint. What a mess! I could go on and on. Please choose a different company when you need to have painting done, so you will have a better experience than we had.

Is quote was reasonable; not the lowest and not the highest. His staff was polite, efficient with time and made sure the work area was cleaned up each day, making sure the gate to the back yard was always shut to ensure the safety of our new puppy. In the busiest time of the year, Carlos kept us informed on when they anticipated to start on our project. The project actually started sooner than I had anticipated and I had not selected the house colors! He recommended using Benjamin Moore on Powell and to work with their color consultant. She was amazing. Carlos also went out of his way to show me pictures and to bring color samples by the house to help in the decision making process. Having to travel prior to final color selection was difficult. Carlos was flexible, rearranging the order of painting, to accommodate travel and to ensure that we would be happy with the final color selection. Once the project started he did a thorough walk around identifying rotting regions around windows and doors and personally replaced rotten wood and caulking all holes, cracks,etc. The end product is beautiful. We went with a beautiful, rich, blue with cream trim and black accents that compliment the style of our home.
