We tried Kilwins for the first time and weren't glad we did. You know it's really good when the line is long; it went pretty quickly tho. My daughter got chocolate toasted coconut and marshmallow smore ice cream and she said it was delicious. My husband got a chocolate covered marshmallow, while I got a chocolate covered rice krispy treat; we enjoyed them both. Goodness. Someone was in a bad mood who waited on me. I won't give his name, but he seemed to be the manager. I wanted to buy a small piece of the cookies and cream bark, amongst several other things. I wasn't sure I would like it and didn't want to waste a lot of money if I didn't like it and would throw out. He breake off like half a piece of a whole one, which is large. I said I wanted a smaller piece. He said he wasn't even supposed to break the piece. But wait, the flavor next to it had several small pieces. I bought like 10 or so individual pieces of candy. He puts them in a bag with a bunch of plastic wrapping for rach piece. I asked for a box. I know he was annoyed with me. I don't even care. Beyond that, I was here recently and half the candy was missing in the case. I asked why. They told me spring cleaning. During business hours? I received a Kilwina gift card for my birthday. So, I am trying to use it up because they are not that close to where i live. The best things they sell here, in my opinion are the milk chocolate covered marshmallow on a stick and the cherry cordial. Another annoying thing is how it takes quite a while to check out if you buy individual pieces that are different flavors. They ring is up like 1 piece at $1.58. One piece at $1.39. They do this because they charge like 339 a pound for some candy... $40 a pound for other candy, $43 per pound for other candy. Why not average it out, charge like $41 per pound for everything. It would make employees' and customers' lives easier? All in all, I have not been happy shopping at this location lately. I mean, it is pretty pricey and I feel like an inconvenience. We ordered 2 scoops of ice cream--chocolate salted caramel and Olas Mud (kind of like chocolate chip), and we understand why it has a reputation! Oh my goodness. Kilwins is the definition of an ice cream shop. You walk in and are blow away by the sweet scents of the ice cream and different chocolate desserts. If it's hot outside, be prepared to wait a while in line. I had never heard of Kilwins before but saw the line out the door after I had dinner down the street. My husband and I came back on a different day and were not disappointed. There are so many different flavors. What Kilns does right is they have a list displaying the top 10 most popular flavors. You are allowed to sample flavors (not sure how many though). Both flavors that I sampled were so good, so full of flavor that I couldn't decide and ended up getting two scoops. I got the toasted coconut (officially my favorite) and I do not remember the name of the second one but it was just as good. My husband got cookies and cream and it was the best I'd ever had, yum! Two double-scoop ice cream cones in waffle cones was about 30 dollars. Pretty pricy. I do think the price is proportional to the portion. I just wish they offered a double-scoop option on a smaller scale. If that was an option, I wasn't told about it. Overall I would def come back to try different flavors :) read more

There's one thing about Kilwins I love more than anything and it is that they're what I call "sponge candy" but in Florida they call "seafoam" it is delicious mouthwatering candy and out of this world. Candy , Apples and ice cream are very good! The employees are terrible and in many cases rude. My wife and have been in years past, regular customers (who live nearby). We would come more frequently if the girls weren't so disrespectful, especially of seniors. The one gentleman who works there (for years) is extremely nice and were it not for him we probably would stop going to Kilwins. They used to give regulars a card to punch when you purchased and after so many visits you would get a free caramel apple. No longer! They used to give little chocolates as a great bonus. No longer! It's regulars like my wife and I who come in year round that keep these little shops on Las Olas going. When we are not treated well at a place like Kilwins, we can have some great candy shipped to our door from See's Candy in California. It's every bit as good and maybe even better! read more

Kilwins has the best chocolate ice cream I've ever had in my life. They have a few different kinds of chocolate ice cream, but my favorite kind had fudge and caramel swirls in it. It is just divine. I also bought the caramel popcorn for my office and my coworker calls it her "crack" lol. The staff was friendly, helpful, and patient as I tried to decide which chocolate ice cream I wanted. I live on the west coast but visit family in Fort Lauderdale and for the last 15 years I haven't had a single trip that didn't include a delicious late night dessert stop. Now that I've got kiddos I knew they would love Kilwins as much as I do! My husband loves their shakes (you can pick any ice cream you want!) and my daughter raves about their rainbow ice cream. My son isn't big into ice cream but they have so many chocolate options he was in heaven. As for me - I love it all! The fudge, the chocolate covered pretzels, the ice cream, I'll eat it all! They have ready made ice cream cakes ready to pick up and pints of their most popular ice cream you can buy out of the freezer. The staff are always super friendly and helpful. They were very kind and chatty to my kids and that's always a huge plus for me. The store itself is narrow so there's no seating inside but there's some seating outside or you can take a nice walk along Las Olas - my favorite! Kilwins is a mom and pop confectionary shop that was founded in 1947 in Petoskey Michigan. Now the company operates 123 stores in 22 states. We have a bunch of them in South Florida and I usually visit them for ice cream. They also sell fudge, candy apples, and other confections. This Kilwins on Las Olas Boulvard has been open since 1995. I have been taking my daughter here all of her life and now she's 21. I have a lot of great memories here of celebrating getting an A or having an ice cream for dinner night. Las Olas is always changing but the amazing smell that hits you when walking in a Kilwins never does. On this visit, my friend and I came over after dinner at the new Cuba Libre restaurant across the street. I was sitting on the patio during dinner and I was staring right at Kilwins the whole time so we had to come for dessert. When we arrived, they were only letting a few people in at a time because of Covid but the line moved fast. They also sanitized your hands before you went in. I looked at all of the amazing chocolates and contemplated getting a caramel apple which I enjoy but ultimately went with my all time favorite, a scoop of chocolate chip mint in a waffle cone. The cones are always freshly made and the ice cream was loaded with chunks of chocolate. Kilwins version of my favorite ice cream flavor is always perfect. A one scoop in a waffle cone is $6.50. I always get the Fudge Brownie or Rocky Road flavor and my husband gets a double scoop with Mint chocolate and Cookies N Cream. It doesn't really matter what flavor you get from here because after one bite, you know this is a high quality ice cream. Very creamy, thick mixed with chunks of goodies. Singles start at $4.99 and doubles from $7.99. I always opt for their waffle cones because they're freshly made and so addictive. Love this shop. However, at this location last night I got a box of chocolates and I noticed halfway through that the lady getting them never changed her gloves, picked all of the chocolates out with the same gloves, and was using the computer behind the counter in between getting the chocolates. My girlfriend and I got two scoops of ice cream it was close to $20. Although it is very very tasty stuff, it is really expensive for ice cream. I feel like they just raise their prices since the last time I came here. The cheapest ice cream you can get for a small scoop is seven dollars. So just keep that in mind.
