This was the best beach bar you could go to close to St. Pete. Had a band and amazing drinks! I absolutely loved it. Also right on the beach! Only thing is the tables were really sticky so not sure if they clean em well. We sat at the bar and then moved to a high top table and both of them were sticky...But I would still go back because it had a really cool vibe and I liked the entertainment. read more

We arrived with a small group and we were seated right away. The music outside was very loud. The televisions inside were tuned to several different football games which was nice for a Sunday afternoon. We had the fish tacos blackened which were pretty good. We would order them again if we ever come back. The coleslaw on the side is made in house the waitress said and it was a little too vinegary and not very tasty. Another member of our party had the BLT and was very disappointed, after telling us he had eaten there before and everything was good.. he than adds.. except for the BLT. The waitress continued to be unavailable when we needed refills or even basic items such as silverware. Upon asking for silverware we received plastic as they said they ran out. Our ordering process was not good either and when checks came they were brought by someone other than our waitress and just dropped on the table. Lots of complaints by everyone in our group. Definitely not a good impression made on us. read more

I had suck a great time here to see No Filter on 12/29/23. We had to hunt around to get a food seat as it was already packed an hour before the band started. Once we found our seat we were able to let loose and relax. I had (one too many) a Cadillac Margarita. Very reasonable priced drink ($7 or $8) not sure and they were STRONG, just the way I like them. I also had the chicken lettuce wraps which were fantastic. Very filling and believe it or not I remembered to bring them home! The band was amazing, I liked the layout of the place, plenty of seating. The bathroom system could use some improvement (ie: maybe a couple of more and all of them working). Overall a great evening and experience. read more

I am a vegetarian and haven't had the chance to get a Buffalo chicken like wrap anywhere unless I made it at home myself. When I saw this place had Buffalo chicken wraps that could substitute for Buffalo cauliflower I was so excited to try it! And it definitely lived up to my expectations, it was delicious and so filling. It came with a side of fries as well. My friend got chips and salsa and queso and i had some queso and it was really good. I dipped my fries in the queso and wow it was so good. I usually don't like to comment on the service but after I ordered I quickly said "I just wanna make sure there won't be chicken and it'll just be cauliflower" because I get nervous when trying something new and the waiter looked at me like I was dumb and just nodded his head yes very slowly with an annoyed look on his face. There's been many times I've asked to substitute for a veggie option and both chicken and the veggie option were put in so I just wanted to double check and I thought I asked in a super upbeat friendly way but I didn't get that in return. I hate commenting on service unless I thought it was exceptional but it really did make me feel bad and made me scared to ask for anything else, I even had my friend ask for the ranch on the side. This place had sooo many good vegetarian options and if I was in the area again I would probably order from here again but maybe takeout. I gave it 4 stars because the food was so good and the vegan/vegetarian options were so plentiful and I'm sure it was just a one-off bad moment but unfortunately I'm a very anxious person so it was hard for my mind not to race. read more

We were staying in Tampa for the week, but wanted to go closer to the ocean so we drove down to Saint Pete Beach. We went to a Toasted Monkey because it was one of the places with CONVENIENT parking, which is apparently rare to come by we ended up, loving it. We went back again that week. We sat on the patio both nights. They have TV showing sports games and we were able to watch the NHL playoffs. THE BARTENDERS WERE ALWAYS NICE AND FAST. The photos are from our first visit. We did not take a picture of the food from her second night, but it was our favorite! The blackened mahi tacos were my boyfriends favorite meal while in town. read more

We loved being so close to the water and being able to eat outside. Service was a little slow but that's to be expected during spring break. Highly recommend the Caribbean Mama drink, the smash burgers, and any of their grouper! Being from Michigan we loved any time we can eat outside and watch the sunset! read more

My favorite beach bar in St. Pete beach! The service at Toasted Monkey is out of this world. No where else can you go to a jam packed bar and have bartenders asking you if you are ready for another drink before you are even finished! They always have live music and great vibes. We visited the Toasted Monkey last month while in Treasure Island. We ate dinner outside because a bad was about to perform. The hostess was really nice and let us pick whatever table we wanted. Our waitress was attentive until our food came out. The ahi tuna tacos were amazing. They came in a lettuce shell and had super fresh fresh veggies on them. The key lime pie was the best that I had for our entire visit to the West Coast. I got it to go and there were 3 squares in the container and it was $5. The band was pretty good but the temp dropped so we didn't stay for their whole set. Fun place, with decent food and they always have live entertainment. read more

For what it was, it was pretty good. Little place with a dive bar feel on St. Pete beach. Not the cleanest or nicest place you'll go to, but the food was good, hot, and decently priced. I can't speak to the live music or even the adult beverages, as we only stopped in quickly for lunch and stayed away from the alcohol. read more

Great place. The band Friday night was incredible. The place was packed, they had several bars open within so no wait for drinks. Late night cheesesteak sub was served hot and large enough to share. Overall a great night with a fantastic band. Will return to see them again. read more

Really enjoyed the food here. We grabbed some lunch to go here. We ordered 2 crab soups, tuna tataki, chicken tacos, salad with blue cheese and fries. The soup was ok, in my opinion way to salty. However, it did taste kind of good. The tuna tataki came with soy sauce and mango, cabbage, corn and fennel, it was quite good. Wish it was also served with wasabi. The salad was ok and came with the most amazing cilantro jalapeno dressing (really unique tasty dressing). My friend enjoyed the chicken tacos. The fries were good and fresh we also had a side of steamed veggies. I enjoyed the food. Would recommend this place for sure. read more

Casual and fun place to go to listen to music and enjoy night life on St. Pete Beach. Definitely a diverse crowd with a mix of tourists, locals and mostly younger people who like to drink and talk really loud. Interesting place to pass through but if it's good food and conversation you're looking for, head next door to the bar at Rumfish Grill. read more

Really yummy diner-style breakfast for decent prices. I got the fresh corned beef hash. It was shredded fresh corned beef in a tabasco sauce. It was oily, but I really enjoyed it. If you like tabasco, you will like it. I overheard a woman next to me say she didn't like it for that reason. It came with home fries that were really yummy, crispy outside and tender inside. I got mine with over easy eggs and texas toast. Good deals! My boyfriend liked his veggie benedict and his mom liked her veggie omelet. They had a good amount of vegetarian options for breakfast. We all got take home boxes cause we only ate half. I would recommend this place if you're wanting breakfast and are staying at the stretch of hotels on St Pete beach. Great place near the beach. Very creative menu. I had the tuna poke bowl which is delicious and served on quinoa and brown rice. The staff is lovely. The host, Zack, is personable and welcoming. We, luckily, live right down the street. So when we feel like an evening at a restaurant that gives you the feeling of a beach bar with live music but healthy yummy food this is the place we go. BTW: no staff was wearing a mask, which is frightening but we sit outside and cross our fingers! read more

Fun place on the beach that seems to always have live music. We were able to watch our local football team and enjoy some good iced beverages after a day at the beach. I call this multi tasking. Great place! Live music, drink specials, upper patio bar, waterfront view. Brooklyn was a great waitress and there was a nice breeze from the gulf. It's right across the street from Buoys bar and grill, which is also a great place to dine and have drinks. I call these places casual vacation bar and grills cause you can come in shorts and flip flops and you'll fit right in. They will not disappoint you. read more

So the Toasted Monkey was referred to us by Cecil at Dolphin Landings as a good place for our family to have lunch. We've been all over the area from St. Pete's down to Anna Maria Island and this was unanimously our favorite place that we ate (regardless of price). Met a friend for a drink. This is a great Florida outdoors bar. The live music was great. The service was quick. And if you move around they will find you with your drink. The bar opens to the beach and is in the back. Very very casual. The type of place you can spend some time at, relaxing, and meeting interesting people. read more

Welcome to the Toasted Monkey Beach Bar and Sports Grill where locals and visitors alike enjoy great food, great sports and family fun all at one location on one of Florida's most popular beaches. We are locally owned and operated and located on the grounds of the Howard Johnson Resort Hotel on Gulf Blvd. and directly on the beautiful white sands of St. Pete Beach. The Toasted Monkey's Gulf Blvd Sports Bar and Grill offers a full menu and full liquor bar that can be enjoyed inside the remodeled dining room or outside on our new patio while watching your favorite team on one of our 28 TV's. The Toasted Monkey Beach Bar is located on the sands of St. Pete Beach and has the charm of a West Indies Tropical beach bar. We have added a new large beachfront deck, volleyball courts and more for the whole family to enjoy. The Toasted Monkey is also a great place to have that special event. Established in 2012.

The Toasted Monkey is operated by The Albert;s who moved here from South Bend, Indiana in 1999. The Toasted Monkey is their newest "baby" on St. Pete Beach which opened September 24, 2012. Along with The Albert's, Chef Dave and their very loyal Staff, many of whom have followed them for years, we strive to bring you great food in a fun and casual and enjoyable CLEAN environment.

The Albert's moved from South Bend, Indiana in 1999 and were the Owners or two very successful restaurants on St. Pete Beach. The Toasted Monkey is their newest adventure.

The server then proceeded to look at us as if we were stupid and then barked at us, "well obviously if you want to eat at any restaurant you need to be seated by a hostess" She then proceeded to tell us as if we were stupid that they are the ones that give you the menus. She rolled her eyes and laughed in a very condescending way. We were so upset by this disrespectful and demeaning treatment that my husband and I received. I just took our two little daughter's hands and left. We are just devastated by this experience as we were hoping this return to Caddy's would be a highlight of our family vacation...given the many happy memories we have visiting Caddy's! I've only been to the beach side so I can't speak for the front restaurant. I have a love/hate relationship with this place. I LOVE to come here for drinks and dinner after watching the sunset. However; the service is absolutely terrible. It's seat yourself, so the waiters will forget about you or realize you aren't even there. You have to gonup to the bar and ask for a menu most of the time. The food is delicious that's why I keep coming back. Always order everything at once because otherwise you will be waiting forever for them to come back. When they bring your food, order whatever else and ask for your check because then you'll be sitting there all night long waiting for it. I have gone here probably 20 times in the past year and every single time they forget to bring me ranch no matter how many times I tell them. Whether it's a busy weekend night or a slow weekday night, they always forget. I would understand if it happened one or two times, but it happens every single time. Then the waiter gets annoyed when we ask again for it.....and is rude. If you have tolerance and patience come here for the food and subset and drinks, but don't expect any great service out of it. read more

The Worst Experience during our work stay. My husband and I came out for a last night bite. My husband ordered a vodka red bull and received it 3/4 full in a small plastic disposable cup with ice and a plastic straw. I ordered a soda and fish basked and the server asked if I wanted cod or grouper not explaining that one was more expensive. The fish actually wasn't very good because it was over fried. We got the bill and it was 30.00. Our server wasn't busy she was just not a good server. I ended up tipping the host that brought us our food and took our check and ran it. Oh and cleaned off our table. Again she wasn't our server. I thought it was odd that with the beach being right next to us they had plastic everything. Straws, cups, ramekins, and styrofoam cups. It's almost as if the owner of the joint wants to hurt his own environment. Kinda sad. Needless to say I will be urging people to stay away from this place. read more

The white stripes pound forward on pavement as feet push petals and cars drive on rubber toes. Their delicate treads tiring tirelessly on still warm pavement under the just sunset sky. A single line does nothing to promote control except to point out it's boundaries but a army of them can rule the world. Roads lead to Rome and when in Rome, do as the Roman do and get out of DOGE. Even though I drive with my right hand because sticks make better handles then weapons but I don't need control to hear my gear. Awesome spot to enjoy everything the beach has to offer. The tiki bar has a view of the gulf and 2 volleyball courts, providing some competitive entertainment. They have live music every night. It is busy on the weekends! Vacationers and locals mingling while enjoying the island vibe and relaxed atmosphere. The food,drinks are great and very reasonably priced compared to the resorts around. It's a great place to come right off the beach with sandy feet and a sunburn to have a cold beer and some great food. read more

I'm usually okay with a good time. There was a man at the bar who was completely over served and would not leave me and my sister alone. Even after being very vocal to him about going away the staff did NOTHING to remedy the situation. Left the upstairs bar to go down and wait for our Uber. Pretty sure my sister was roofied at this establishment. 2 drinks and 2 shots do not usually end up with a night of no coherence and nonstop vomiting. Beware if drinking here. read more

Waitresses steal from their customers! They stole money from a family member and their managers were claiming they'd handle it but are starting to ignore calls. It's so sad and pathetic to see a great business get taken over by corruption. Won't support this place anymore and will advise as many people as possible to steer clear too. Good atmosphere and music. Typical beach sandwiches/apps menu. Had the stuffed mushrooms, four portabellas topped with Sausage and cheeses. Really good. Also had the buffalo shrimp. The sauce was perfect and the shrimp cooked perfectly, tender and firm. Definitely recommend for appetizers. The rest of the menu I'd seen before in every other little place, so we dined elsewhere. Came here last February for bike weekend on a recommendation from a local and she pointed us in the right direction. Had a great boozy breakfast and then went for a stroll on the beach. Put them in shorts and short sleeve shirts, which would fit the ambience of the place and would not make people sitting there in already hot conditions feeling sorry for them.
