Had a lunch with a few friends at the Wheelhouse on a Friday. The first compliment goes to the server who was apparently also the bartender and was also the busser! Well-versed on the menu and a very pleasant lady. It's certainly not a fancy place and it looks like it's been around for a while, but it's the kind of place where you might like to hang out at the bar. Everyone there seems to be friendly and you get that comfortable feeling. We had a variety of food items, some better than others but nothing below average. Really good salads, as you can see by the pictures, a nice job on the chicken wings, a BLT that was pretty tasty; the butternut squash soup was OK, pretty thick and not hot at all. One was returned to the kitchen to be heated up. There was a chicken dip that really didn't hit the spot, and the tortilla chips that came with it seem to be past their prime. As for the fried mushrooms. I found them pretty much ordinary. A nice surprise were the brussels sprouts with balsamic and goat cheese. Really really good. Overall, I would give the food about a 3 1/2 stars at the service five stars so what averages out around four stars. Like I said it looks like a nice place to hang around and have a couple of beverages and a little something to eat. read more

Little hole in the wall beer and wine bar in small strip center. Excellent food and service. The Butternut Squash Bisque was outstanding. And they have a Mead on the menu - one of very few places that do! Small and I'm sure gets really cramped on weekend nights but a fun place. read more

Service .... Been here like 4/5 times love the vibe. The food is ight the portions are small. But we tip well and we tipped 15% it's 10 pm on a Tuesday. We aren't looking for a steakhouse dinner. But we tip 15%. The server has the audacity to say across the restaurant was everything alright? And I look back confused as all hell because we were just cracking jokes with her 5 minutes ago. We love Nosh Pit and have wanted to try their sister restaurant, Wheelhouse for a while. We were there on Taco Tuesday, so it was busier than we had anticipated. Unfortunately, I wasn't overly impressed. It's loud, there seems to be an abundance of children, and it just doesn't feel all that comfy unless you're sitting in a booth and there are only three booths -- they reserve them for larger groups, which makes sense, so we couldn't access one. My boyfriend was bummed they don't serve sweet tea. I tasted his buffalo chicken flatbread, which was not what either of us expected. He didn't eat most of it. My chicken sandwich was delicious. I upgraded my side to fresh mozzarella with tomatoes, which seemed super fresh. I'm happy we can cross this place off our endless list of places to try but I'm not sure we'll be back. read more

Went here based on Yelp photos. It's more of a hole-in-the-wall in a strip mall (which isn't necessarily a bad thing - those places can surprise you!) but we only had an appetizer and drinks. So the 4/5 is based off the mushroom starter. We realized they didn't have any fish on the menu and just rolling into town, that's what my husband was looking for so we went down to the beach for our mains. Server was nice about it. read more

Date of visit : 5/25/2024 I wasn't really planning on coming here but after being turned away from a spot I had planned on going, traffic to say the least...I headed back to my neck of the woods and decided on the Wheelhouse. I have reviews and choose this place. Like others have said, parking can be tricky which could decide whether to stop or not...I was in luck and parked with no trouble. Inside it is a relaxed atmosphere and a descent bar area. I sat at the bar. Be warned, it is a craft beer joint only. I ordered the Burial Prophetmaker APA and the Bubsy's Burger Melt with fries. Not having heard of this brew I had to try it and not bad... The melt arrived and it was stacked, LTO. My only thing is that the burger could have been done more with a crust. The fries crinkle-cut and done. All in all, if there is a parking spot available, stop in and give it a try. Peace. read more

Took my daughter here for dinner and was incredibly impressed by how comfortable it felt, how affordable it was to eat dinner, and how genuinely nice the employees were. The TVs were playing a solid mix of movies for all ages and interests, the walls were covered in art and stickers, and the food was super tasty! We split mild wings and tater tots (it was still too many for us to finish) and everything was cooked and seasoned great. We will definitely be back again soon! read more

It looks like a biker bar upon entering. I don't think it really is, though. Regardless, the food is very good. We had the generous charcuterie board. Plenty for an app for a few people. Also had the French bread pepperoni pizza which was crispy but not over baked. Plenty of cheese but not too much. Good parm flavor. Just the right amount of sauce so you can taste it and the pepperoni was sort-of shredded which I loved because each bite had some pepperoni in it and I want trying to bite through a slice of pepperoni. And the pizza was not greasy at all. Service was good. No-one greeted us, but when we started arranging tables to fit our group, they came running. Haha. And then they were attentive and friendly. If you're looking for a chill vibe and a spot where you can get a good burger style sandwich at a place you can sit down, then check out the wheelhouse. The decor and vibe is very skateboarder punk rock. Plenty of seating inside, some tables and booths, especially considering it's a pretty small spot. They also have spots along the Bar if that's what you prefer. The staff is quick, attentive, and very friendly plus they're happy to recommend things if you're unsure. The food itself is great and so not greasy, great flavor profile, good clean ingredients, and although it's not considered healthy food, it's still pretty good! I've tried their chicken sandwich, which I preferred over the western beef sandwich, and the tempura mushrooms were really good too! I've only been here once, so I'll have to check out their other items as well when I go next! read more

Visiting my parents and we stopped by for late lunch after reading good reviews on Yelp. Ambience is divey, in a fun way. Good mix of clientele. My dad had the Flippin' Chicken, which was great! Super tasty chicken salad on great bread. I had the Chicken Dilla, which was okay but not great. My stepmom made the best choice with the Melty Carelli. She gave me a bite, and WOW! Spicy meat, melty cheese, and toasty bread. Yum! The onion rings, our appetizer, were delectable--maybe my favorite part of the meal. The menu is diverse and fun with something for everyone. The starters were hard to pass up for sure. There are tater tots, fried moz or fried mushrooms, nachos (beef, chicjen or veggie), goat cheese dip, Buffalo chicken dip, lots of sauces, and lots more. The variety of French bread pizza was calling me first: pepperoni, cheese, buffalo chicken, veggie, and caprizza. We decided on sandwiches over the wide variety of soups, salads, burgers, hummus and wings. Mine was the Melty Carelli which is salami, hot cap, ham with melted mozzarella, house-made pesto tomato, and onion all served on delicious grilled sour dough bread. My side was the pasta salad. My guy ordered the James May. It is turkey with melted Swiss cheese, house sauce & slaw (French fries side). Our friends ordered the Melty Carella and the Big Mother Clucker (panko crusted chicken breast, American cheese, LTO and mayo also on grilled sourdough bread and fries). I am not sure who is reviewing this place or perhaps we came on an off night but ordered here and the food was NOT good. We ordered the wings, boneless chicken tenders with fries and a salad. Everything was tasteless and lacked appeal. Fries were soggy. Unfortunately it was a waste of money as most of it ended up in the garbage. We walked in and there were several tables and booths available and someone yelled from behind the bar abruptly telling us we could only sit at a high top or table in the middle because we were a party of two. We are local and live in the neighborhood and won't be back. Some people need booth seating for comfort and should not be treated like that when there is no wait and ample seating available. read more

I opted for a blackened chicken Cesar salad because I had a weird craving but honestly, a lot of the stuff on the menu looks really good! I did a to go order and they were friendly and fast. It's a very laid back atmosphere, and not super big, so I can imagine this place getting crowded or having a wait. It did look like there were a few small tables outside to sit at. The blackened chicken was on point and the dressing was delicious (I think I saw homemade) and a good amount of lettuce and croutons thrown in. Around $13.40 with tax. read more

The Wheelhouse is a cute little local bar in a plaza near the beach. We came for their pumpkin release day, where they released all their pumpkin beer & food. My boyfriend got their beer flight and I got the pumpkin sangria. The drinks themselves deserve 5 stars. The beers were DELICIOUS and the sangria was spiced, not too "pumpkin-y" and were garnished with apples. I absolutely loved it. I could've had 4 of those. The service here wasn't the best, our server didn't seem to care much about customer service or smiling. A lot of other team members would stop by and make sure we were fine, which we liked. Our original server forgot to bring us straws, after we asked, and didn't check in on our food or drinks. Speaking of food, it's bar food. We ordered the beef nachos to share. At first glance, they look loaded and flavorful. But the ground beef and overall platter were incredibly bland. There was barely any cheese and the cheese that was on it was still cold. The sauce on top was weird, almost like a Big Mac sauce. I was hesitant to rate 4 stars because of the spotty service and terrible food. The decor in here is super cool though, and the drinks were great. So I'm hoping it was just a bad day. I'll come back, but only for the drinks. read more

Originally selected this restaurant because we needed somewhere open late after we got in from the airport. The wheelhouse had an edgy vibe, decorated with painted skateboard decks and it is small but clean. It was pretty empty when we came in around 9 pm on a Thursday night. I was pleasantly surprised at their extensive beer menu. I got a sour called Essie? and it was sour with creamy honey notes- super delicious. I do wish the descriptions were a little more detailed on their beer menu. We also ordered the hottie totties and they were the best comfort food I've had in a long time. The bacon was fresh and crispy (not just preserved bacon bits). There was the perfect mix of cheese and sour cream as well. It was a little smaller than I expected though. We also got the fried zucchini with avocado ranch. The avocado in the ranch was a nice touch and the zucchini spears were pretty thick. The club sandwich was great, especially if you love meat. The caprese salad side was really unique and tasty option but it was a 2$ up charge from fries. We ordered and got our food pretty quickly. read more
