Noticed the tobacco weighing procedure, the dust and what nots on the pan which the scale rests may inhibit a clean smoke. Perhaps use your plastic pouch atop the scale when weighing. Also may I suggest as to wear gloves when reaching into tobacco jars. In my humble opinion weigh the tobacco in a clean and sanitized fashion. The visual is not appealing. The Breakdown on this place would be as follows - 1- Selection 4 1/2 stars. They have some brands that are hard to find, but are still missing some of the new great cigars on the market. Which is kind of strange. 2- The service some days 1 star some 2 or 3. Most of the time you are ignored. 3- Cigar knowledge of the staff 2 or 3 stars. I don't know if they can't tell good cigars from bad. Or just their communication skills lack. Which can be mistaken for rudeness. 4- Prices - 3 there are much better deals out there in brick and mortar shoppes. There are also places more pricey. 5- Hours of operation - 2 stars. read more

It is hard to find such a place these days. My review addresses only the pipe tobacco section and pipes. There you find a good amount of high-quality tinned tobacco and other pipe smoking paraphernalia. However, I noticed that the shop charges too much for tobacco. The difference in price, compared to online stores (plus shipping costs), is around 10$ to 15$, which I think is too much. Other than that, the place is charming and is worth visiting. read more

I've been a loyal customer for many years, since their old location at the Waterfront in Marina del Rey. Tobacco Trader carries products that I can't find anywhere else. I'm a rolling tobacco smoker and this is the only shop that I know of where I can buy premium rolling tobacco in bulk for a value, considering the quality. Their cigar selection is extensive and they carry a wide variety of pipe tobacco as well. They also carry unique and hard-to-find smoking accessories and I've purchased several tobacco pouches over the years. The staff is very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful and I always feel welcome shopping at the store. This is one of the few remaining genuine and honest tobacco shops in town, and is certainly not a tacky head shop. read more
