The staff is incredible, fun, attentive, and reliable. Communicating with the director is seamless and everyone really cares about the kids and making the lives of parents easier by offering diverse camp experiences. I have had to make changes with dates for winter camps for example, and they have always been so kind and when possible, willing to reschedule dates. The camp is really a community within a community. It's really special to have my kids see old friends, make new friends and see their old counselors each year. Saken has been a regular highlight for our winter break for 3 years now and we plan to be back!

We had to move out of the area and I notified the camp as soon as possible, asking to cancel and requesting a refund. I was told they don't offer refunds unless someone from the waitlist takes the spot--which would be fair if they actually tried. Despite multiple email follow-ups over several weeks and being extremely patient, no real effort was made on their end. I personally know someone on the waitlist for our session who never received a call or update. If the policy is dependent on the spot being filled, then it's the camp's responsibility to at least try to fill it. Parents--if you're considering this camp, just know that if anything changes, you'll be stuck. No flexibility, no proactive communication, and no accountability in their own process. And if you're on the waitlist, don't just wait for a call--because they may never make one. Be ready to chase them down. Really disappointed in how this was handled.

We visited meri cherry few times about two years ago and absolutely loved it. Unfortunately, our visit today was a completely different experience. Most of the interesting craft supplies we remembered. fun stones, colorful glass gems, unique trinkets, ribbons , sparkly stuff and creative materials were gone. Instead, the crafting area was mostly filled with things like pipe cleaners, scraps, cardboard, paper clips, boxes, stickers and other everyday items that you could easily find at home and def not worth $50 an hour. We also noticed very young toddlers wandering around, banging on projects and breaking things, which made it difficult for older kids to enjoy the space and didn't feel very organized. It honestly felt like the studio had lost a lot of the creativity and magic that made us fall in love with it in the first place. I really hope they bring back the unique materials and imaginative atmosphere they used to have, because it was once such a special place

We know we wanted to do some kind of art party but wanted to be unique. We found that at Art Rebel for a glow in the dark art party. Ponti, the owner, made this birthday so special for our 6 year old and all her friends. From the beginning he was so easy to work with and very communicative. Ponti has kids birthday parties down to a science with different activities planned out that all the kids loved! Him and his team handled it all while we got to relax and chat with other parents. On top of that, we didn't have to worry about goodie bags because all the kids went home with a couple pieces of glow in the dark art that they made. There was a separate, and massive, room for food and drinks so when cake cutting came around it was so easy. Also he made setting up and packing up so easy. If you're looking for something different and special for your kid's birthday, I can't highly recommend Art Rebel Studio enough!

My son's aide (my son is disabled) said it could have been a casino given the smell. This was true for the two days he attended. We won't be finishing the week despite paying for it. Pretty sure smoking inside that building is illegal and definitely shouldn't be allowed right before kids come in. The instructor also left the room entirely several times for 15-20 min. While my son's aide was there, he is not an employee of the camp and should not be responsible for the other children present. Besides those issues, the camp itself was very underwhelming with minimal activities planned beyond drawing. We have done art camps at half the cost that put much more thought into it and didn't lead to lung damage from smoke inhalation.

He came home from camp teaching us things like how mycelium webs help "trees talk to each other" and how some bird feathers change colors in water. He had adventures climbing trees and rocks, catching frogs, sailing makeshift boats and using his imagination outdoors. Hawks was just what he needed this summer! I wish kids had more opportunities like this. We would love the opportunity to go on a family hike with Hawks once in a while. I often wished I could stay when dropping off!

The number of established activities + daily activities is impressive (magic show, bounce houses, slip and slide). I can't speak about the food quality, however I appreciate the options and my kid never complains about what he gets. The grounds are clean. Playground is huge and offers many activities. Side note: VR headsets are offered. They do not age gate these to the recommended 13 years. So I was none to pleased to learn my under-13 kid used them. They know better now. But yes, VR is not appropriate for the growing brains of younger kids

This year, though, none of those were available, and the kids were relegated to playing outdoors and eating lunch. When I would ask my son what he did that day, he would shrug and say, "Played on the jungle gym. What else?" It's disappointing because there was no reason given as to why they stopped doing these projects. They are still charging the same price - a whopping $645 per week (!) without all of the benefits. Maybe some of that is going to the overpriced meals they are having catered from Panera, which is charging something like $10 for a cup of soup last time I checked. Maybe we're paying for the counselors' meals as part of the charges. Who knows? There is no itemization, and parents are kept relatively in the dark about what goes on at camp every day. There are no field trips or swim days, so it is unclear *why* the charges are so high. I packed my son snacks every day, but he said he's not allowed to eat them, and true enough, when I picked him up, his snack pack was at the front gate, not allowed into camp. He said the camp itself provides no snacks, so it's unclear how Steve and Kate's Camp expects campers to survive on a cup of soup and hunk of bread while playing outside all day. Kudos to the person who wrote the little ditty on the badges, as that was very cute (photo attached). I hope they improve their program next year, or we will be looking at other options.

It works perfect for us because he plays basketball and is getting so much extra practice in by attending the camp as well as having an opportunity to meet and play with other children outside of his team.
