Called in around 9a.m and made an appt. For my son @ 6p.m. I drive all the way from O.C and arrive around 5:45. When i walked in was asked if I had an appt? Told them yes@ 6 w. " Louie" he jumps into the conversation out of nowhere and shouts" I double booked" so i will get you not after this guy but the guy after him, which HE SCHEDULED at the same time. These guys made a small remarks about what he did!. Taking it light. Not sure if the owner was there, but if he was couldn't tell the difference to be honest. Will never come back to this place. Ended up going to Down the street to TIP TOPS BARBER, where they were very attentive towards my son and I, Cool Guys and not your ordinary barbershop. As far as Tocas or whatever its called, I wouldn't give them a penny off the ground! read more

My son is a high functioning Autistic young man, so that makes it hard to find a barber that makes him feel comfortable. So after attempting to go to a few other Barber Shops in Whittier, we ended up finding this little gem. As soon as we walked in, we were treated to a very enthusiastic and friendly greeting. I could tell right off the bat that I was going to like this place, and after spending a little while there, watching my son interact with Sal (His Barber) and the other Barbers there, I knew my son had found himself a new place to get his hair cut. It felt like we had been going to this place for years. I just can't emphasize enough, how friendly everyone was to both of us. So here's my take on this place. Pros: Friendly Employees Friendly Atmosphere Good Service (My son loved his haircut) They do shaves Clean Business/Well Kept Reasonably Priced Haircuts Appointments are recommended, but not needed. Cons: Hard to find. (I almost missed this place) Parking can be a bit Tight Cash Only I would recommend Tocayos to anyone. I went with my daughter to pick up her little girl (7yrs old) from her dad. Upon arriving, I tell her "this is no place for a child!" Was I wrong! The place was clean, and "kid" friendly! The barbers all gentlemen and funny. Gabriel one of the owners even stopped cutting hair to introduce himself and shook my hand. There were other children there and another little girl. There was some good laughs; they are so kind and funny. And yes still a "man's place" with respect for women. I'm sure it's different when woman aren't there but that's normal! By the way the barber cutting my granddaughters dads hair made him look better than I've ever seen him look!! lol Good people, great laughs, excellent barber shop! My 4 year old son and I came in for a haircut yesterday. To say that he hates getting his hair cut would be the understatement of the century. He squirms and he screams like he's on fire. Despite my son's antics, Louie freaking killed it. It's the best haircut, by a mile, that he's had. The rest of the shop was really cool about it too. I love this place. Sharp haircuts and very friendly "barbershop" environment. Adults and kids are both welcome. I've had nothing but amazing experiences and it's become our go to barber for both my 10 year old and 4 year old. Any stylist is amazing. In fact I took a shortcut and went to a chain barber and they butchered my sons hair (pictured below). I had to shave his whole head a 1, as it grew out I went here and they fixed it sharp! read more

My barber was behind on his appointments I reassured that it was fine and suggested I would return in one hour to give him enough time to finish up with the two boys he was working on. He then said he wouldn't take long and it would be better to wait since there were other people that were also waiting. I waited for a hour. The last 30 minutes of my time there he was lining up the last haircut allowing the child's mother to direct the cut. Being inconsiderate of my time which for me is crucial and why I always book appointments. I'm all for pleasing the customer but when you have a "long line" not extending the conversation and being more prompt would have been the right thing to do. read more

I recently moved to the area from the OC and was pleased to find Tocayos. I was able to get a last minute appointment on a busy weekend. I was a little nervous getting a cut from a new barber but the atmosphere was welcoming and all the cuts before mine looked top notch. While I waited I was also greeted by Gabe who engaged me in conversation which made me feel comfortable. The whole crew here is friendly tbh. Elishia cut my hair and did a great job! She really knows what she's doing. My hair is exactly like I wanted and better than expected. She is talented to say the least and absolutely beautiful I was lucky enough that Oldies were playing and I got to hear her humming to the songs Before I left I made sure to book my next appointment! Super fresh. Everyone compliments me on my hair when I get a nice fade from Tocayos. Find a barber who you like most they all cut differently and will do the same fade many different ways. Atmosphere is good, they're always bringing in a good mood. Everyone compliments me and I work in DownTown LA. Where supposedly you get the best cuts and what not. But still people are stuck on the attention to detail of the cuts I get here. For Sure try them out. Make an appointment and don't wait. If you can't make it then don't be a stranger and tell them you can't make it. Theyre super cool about it. The reason I'm writing this is because I've been to other barber shops all over LA county and this has to be the best one with the best haircuts. First time here the barber have me a good haircut and fade. I have them a 4 star since the price of $15.00 is a little high compared to barbershops in the surrounding area between $10.00 & $12.00. Over all great atmosphere when you walk in, and the barbers a polite. You can even make appointments. read more

I have been going to Tocayos for 12 years and have been bringing 4year old son for the past 3 years. This place is a classic barber shop. Very clean, cool barbers and good conversation. They are making a big effort to be more family friendly and even installed a nice fish tank for the kids (which my son loves) gabriel knows my family by name and always goes the extra mile to make sure we are taken care of.
