If I could give 3.5 stars I would. Not sure if its 4 star worthy because their customer service and wait time varies. But their mangoneada is 4 stars!! My daughter gets their ice cream and LOVES it. Their mangoneada is awesome and hits the spot every time. They arent very affordable but that is why I only go when I want to treat myself. A large mangoneada is $7.99. Okay so I came to this place after seeing there high reviews but I give this place only 2 stars for a few reasons.; First I walk in and I see no prices on the board so I have to ask how much everything is then after he tells me the outrageous price of there large Chamango ($6) I ordered one and decided I'd share with my bf. When I first see it I notice greenish mango that were obviously not ripe. By the time my chamango was half gone I notice I was just drinking pure syrup. The kid should have made it with more ice and do I really need to ask u for ripe mangos? smh read more

Very disappointed with this place. It says it opens until 8:30. I get there at 7:50 pm and it's already closed. It's a great spot but I guess it doesn't like to make business. This place is the place for delicious fresh fruit! It's a bit pricey but it's nice to go once in a while. I had the chopped fruit salad in a cup with the sweet cream. Yummy! They have mazapan, chongo, and blu blu ice cream! They have several Mexican sweets made into frozen treats. These people are creative. You can use their check in and get a little discount. Nice and clean atmosphere. They have outdoor seating to enjoy your treat with your family or friends. I'm definitely coming back! read more

One of the reasons I truly miss Chula Vista. With nothing even close to this near me in the IE, Neveria Tocumbo Is always a must stop when I am in the neighborhood. All the flavors are totally authentic and remind of the begging my parents for a dollar so I could catch the paleta man before he got too far down the street. All of the paletas that I could see in the freezer and huge pieces of fruits in them just begging to be eaten. Neveria Tocumbo also carries ice cream, fresas con crema, tostilocos just to name a few but my favorite is chamango. It is made with scoops of mango ice cream, chunks of fresh cut mango on top, loads of chamoy + chili powder and a stick of toma roca to finish off this masterpiece. I am salivating just thinking about the one I scarfed down on Tuesday......it is a lot to eat so make sure you have room in your stomach or have that someone special to share with. read more

Amazing! I've been a patron of Oasis for years, but Tocumbo stole my heart with that first spoon of ROSE (yes, the lovely flower!) ice cream. Incredibly fresh quality ice creams and aguas are made in store. The price is even more incredible, $1 for a hefty scoop! Tocumbo's flavors include the classics like oreo and vanilla, to the more creative, typical to Mexican style ice cream, like corn and cheese. To top it all off, the service was great. Amazing, best ice cream in all of South Bay. Great flavors, the pops are the best too. They have all the fruit salads, I always get Fresas con crema....they use so many strawberries and I like theirs better than Teresitas. Officially my favorite ice cream place. My daughter brought me here for the corn ice cream. She swore that it was the best and most addictive flavor. For two scoops it was a little over $4. This ice cream shop is hiden but it is soooo good. They have so many awesome mexican flavors of ice cream and paletas so you got plenty to choose from and they are farily priced compared to other ice cream shops. I'm not a huge fan of the spicy desserts when I'm craving sweets but I do have to say, their ice cream selection is great! I especially love the queso icecream which is basically cream cheese flavored ice cream infused with what I think is milk and vanilla. There are many other flavors such as rose, pistachio and other Mexican favorites. The only thing that wasn't that great was their Tejuino. The lime sherbet is an interesting idea to put into the mix but it's just not the same as the properly made ones without the sherbet and the real limes they added were just a little bitter. It does get a bit crowded on the weekends, holidays and hot days but it's totally worth the cold treats! read more

My husband loves this place! The only place in Chula Vista we know we can get limon ice cream! Their service is good, it's just ice cream so we don't expect much. They make their own Popsicles too! Tocumbo is probably one of the best ice cream places I've ever been to! My sister knows Chula Vista well and one day when we were up there she asked me if i wanted to go get some ice cream, and so we did. When I got there, it seemed like a pretty simple set up. I didn't even care to look at the prices. I got the tostilocos and my sister got the fresada. Holy moly those things were huge and they were delicious! Totally worth the price! It's nothing like ice cream shops down here in Vista. Totally makes the ice cream places down here look like shizzz!! read more

I've ordered enough items to give an honest review. From Raspados, Tostilocos, Ice Cream, palletas and my favorite Escamocha. I come back mainly for my Escamocha fix- small pieces of diced fruit with a delicious sweet cream topped with granola. Similar to other local places Bionicos just a million times better. It's almost $6.00 It's actually $5.89 I believe a little pricey but so good. My kids love the bubble gum ice cream and my older son loves that they sell Mexican Coke in the glass bottle. So glad to have a place like this in Chula Vista. read more

Delicious! My very picky friend told me about this Mexican ice cream shop that I had to go to because she just loved it. We went there to celebrate my husband's birthday and he loved it, too! I let the gentleman behind the counter know that this was our first time there and he ran down the list of the yummiest Mexican paletas (popsicles) and home made ice cream. All made on the premises. After the run down and still looking at all of the specialties they make, I asked him to hook me up with whatever he thought I would like. He asked me a few questions; do I like very spicy or a little spicy, do I like very sweet or a little sweet? He got that and he made me a beautiful fresh mango and mango ice cream with chili sweet sauce dessert(mangoneada)! It was so good! It was so fresh and different and un expected. My daughter enjoyed her bubble gum ice cream and she is going to venture out next time and get what mom and dad got. This place is definitely going on our 'go to' list for special treats. The prices were very reasonable. For us three we got out of there for under $10.00. They also have fruit salad and aguas frescas.
