Right next to Starbread Bakery! How convenient is that! Was luckily to find this tea shop right next to Starbread where we picked up a box of señorita bread. It was not very busy when we visited. Very cute photo op right when you walk in. I wanted my usual Thai tea. They offer two sizes, small and large. What happened to a medium size?!? The Thai tea has a very strong tea flavor, which is not a bad thing, but the tea is made with rock sugar which has a very distinctive flavor. It was very overwhelming and I didn't care for it. I like Thai tea in its simplest form and not where the sugar/sweetness is not adjustable... and definitely not made with rock sugar. The environment is cozy and well decorated, making it fun. The staff were busy but attentive and were friendly. The boba was really good. Been twice now. We've had Jasmine Milk Tea, Brown Sugar Boba Fresh Milk & Thai tea. I appreciate that they offer oat, almond and soy milk. The jasmine milk tea had a very nice flavor and aroma. Not bitter. I quite enjoyed it. The brown sugar fresh milk was yummy. I've had others elsewhere where I thought the brown sugar taste was better though but we still enjoyed it. The Thai tea was good, nice flavor. The lowest sugar they can do is 25%. The first time the boba itself was surprisingly nice. Good size, served warm, very nice level of softness and chew. Nice level of sweetness as well. Pretty good boba to drink ratio. The second time we went the boba was unfortunately super firm and although the teas were okay the hard boba made the whole drink really unsatisfying to drink so I ended up barely drinking it. My husband did notify them about the undercooked boba and they offered to remake it but said the boba would be the same. So he decided that remaking it would be pointless. I came back because the first time was great so I gave a 4 overall but coming back two days later the drink is more like a 1. So I've changed my rating from 4 to 3. I ordered the earl grey milk tea with no boba and I waited about 5-10 minutes before my drink came out. My earl grey milk tea was decent with a good amount of earl grey flavor and it wasn't too sweet which I liked. The décor is pretty nice and I could see myself cozying up here to do some work or studying. I did wanna note that there was only 1 staff member taking orders and making the drinks while I saw the owner(?), an older lady, cleaning up and unfortunately not helping but I did show up at the last hour before they were closing. Overall, Dori Boba is a decent spot to check out if you are wanting a drink but not from a nearby chain like Ding Tea or R&B. We walked in and we were the only customers inside. Aside from the welcome and placing our order there was no other communication with the staff. Our drink was ready right away. They had some sort of music playing but it was too low to notice it. As for the drink the flavor was good, but the bobas got stuck together even after stirring and shaking the bottle numerous times. I discovered this place from an "Elite Squad" event and wanted to bring my hubby the next time. He got the Grapefruit Orange Tea, which had whole slices of orange in it. It was refreshing without the bitterness that grapefruit brings. So glad this spot opened up in my neighborhood. This place is not too big, but there is a cute seating area that's great for taking photos. After I ordered, the owner asked if I knew someone and we ended up knowing each other LOL. Trying out a new place for boba since they just popped up! Seems like the owner gets annoyed/flustered when there's a big crowd with lots of orders. Super understandable, but it showed when she spoke with me. The cashier that helped me out was super friendly& patient with me standing there debating my order when I told her I was ready to order, but I wasn't ready. Lol. The names of the drinks are in the pic caption. Honestly, the drinks were just okay. They weren't bad. They just weren't memorable. The orange chicken though, was not good. It was more like sweet&sour chicken than what I know as orange chicken. There was a weird gamey/hazy aftertaste that you taste when something is overly oiled or waxy? Like it taste like something got cross contaminated or not cleaned properly? If someone knows the word of what I'm describing, please let me know! Lol. I know how to say it in my language, though. This new bubble tea business has set up an operation between a lamb barbecue restaurant and a Filipino bakery in Chula Vista. I am sure they draw customers like myself who were patronizing one of those two establishments. The inside was clean and modern, however there were no tables or chairs. Instead, there was a stage-like platform with cushions to sit on. It's like they wanted to replicate traditional Japanese style floor seating, but it seemed unusual and out of place if you ask me. We had just bought some items from the next door bakery, and I wanted to get a beverage while we were parked. There were two menu screens with the left one dedicated to the following drink series... Yogurt, Brown Sugar, Cheese Foam/Creme Brulee, and Fruit Tea. The right screen had milk teas, walling, fish waffles (taiyaki), shaved ice, and savory snacks. The drinks were available in small and large sizes. What struck me was the price for a small which ranged from $5.25 (milk tea) to $6.50 (yogurt). Even with the 15% discount, the cost was pricey. Handcrafted boba was available in four types for an additional $1 surcharge for each. Regular pre-made boba cost $0.75. I ordered the latter as a topping to go with a small Passion Fruit Green Tea with less ice. The plastic vessel was a sealed container with a rounded bottom and not a typical cup. The fruit flavor was fine, but the boba pearls were not boiled to the level of softness that I prefer. We were the only customers at the time so the service was adequate. Wanted to check it out, have been meaning to go every time we were at the bakery. Everyone was friendly. Ordered the Matcha Walling and the Butterfly Rose. I did not change the sweetness level, as it was my first time and I wanted to taste the drink how it's normally made. The matcha walling had cheese foam swirled. The cheese foam delicious. It was a nice not too cheesy. The matcha comes out great as well. The butterfly rose, really had a nice balance of rose. It was not too sweet, it was just right. There is a nice sitting area with cushions that you can sit on. Sort like a zen zone. The menu and offer lots of options and customization of sweetness. Which I do appreciate because milk-teas are usually so sweet. And they use non-dairy milk too! 10 out of 10 for sure. I did add their boba, unfortunately they do not have honey boba / just regular boba. The texture of their boba was average. I thought it would get hard and chewy over time but it didn't! The cutest little boba shop in Chula Vista! My coworker introduced me to Dori Boba and loves their Brown Sugar drinks. I just played it safe with a oolong milk tea, but then I saw someone order popcorn chicken and decided to order it too. I could distinguish a good milk tea and the oolong was just right! The popcorn chicken was a really big portion and they mainly use chicken breast. I ordered it extra spicy and the lady, who I assumed was the owner, was so nice and gave us extra spice powder on the side. It was tasty, although I do wish they offered more of a "snack" sized portion for the chicken as I feel like $10 for a bowl of chicken is a lot. There isn't many boba shops here in Chula Vista, so Dori Boba fits perfectly here! They are doing great for being a new business.
