With further research I now know that it would have damaged my perfect wisdom tooth to drill and fill a tooth without decay! So sadly I have to say Dr Hill will not see me in his office again and please get a second opinion if you have a doubt about what is recommended.

After reading online reviews and speaking with very helpful and friendly staff who assured me my specific needs and concerns would be catered to (i.e. not forcing unnecessary x-rays on me when I am electro-sensitive, and not exposing me to chemicals that trigger bad reactions due to my MCS/chemical sensitivities), and explained that Dr. Tanner did his best to first save teeth before heading down the root canal/crown/extraction road, I went ahead and made an appointment. And what I can say is I am so glad I did! Dr. Tanner and his staff made me feel totally at ease and comfortable and really took time to listen to my concerns and address these with patience and caring attention. Dr. Tanner has a great bedside manner and treats patients as fellow humans, whom he does his upmost to help. In my case he worked with me to come up with creative solutions to my problem without causing me any financial ruin or other trauma. I would definitely recommend Dr. Tanner, whether or not you are specifically looking for a holistic approach. But if you are then he's the one to see, and especially if other dentists have let you down and led you astray in the past. While I didn't directly see him interacting with kids, I could tell that he'd be really good with them, especially any who are usually afraid of dentist or doctor's offices (or adults who are afraid.. like me!).

Since becoming a patient, he has replaced both new and older fillings, making sure everything is properly sealed and done right. Local anesthesia, that the dentist assured you would certainly numb the tooth, was soon followed by the dreaded words "this won't hurt." Dread and horrific piercing pain were my constant companions when visiting the dentist's office. Fortunately, those days are over. The modern drills and anesthetics of today WORK, and a visit to the dentist's office is without the trials and tribulations of the past. Those modern tools in the hands of a seasoned professional like Doctor "Jake" make a visit to his office a pleasant experience. I was referred by my dentist in Washington to whom I was referred by my daughter. Since my arrival in the valley almost 12 years ago Jake has been our family dentist, and when I find a great dentist, I will refer those I know and care about. Jake and his staff have performed just about every dental procedure possible on my teeth, heck I could be the poster boy featured in a dental publication for aftermarket parts and procedures. All kidding aside, Jake and the staff are true professionals, positive, understanding, and they listen. They appreciate that every patient is an individual with differing cares, concerns and a dental history and treat them accordingly. Professional, proficient, personable, and patient oriented.
