The day of my Appointment, I walked into his Office with an open mind, but still filled with trepidation. I needn't have worried. I was taken care of in the most courteous, professional, capable and friendly manner, and this was all BEFORE I was introduced to Dr. Vareldzis himself. He is highly competent, skilled and very considerate of his patients. Furthermore, he is very gracious and warm (and, I might add, charming.) I immediately felt comfortable and at ease. He makes sure you are comfortable with what he is doing, as he actually takes the time to explain things, so there is no fear or wondering on the patient's part. I also want to mention, on two separate occasions, after fairly detailed dental procedures, he called the next day to check on me and find out how I was feeling. Well, you could have blown me over with a feather!! He takes the time, personally, to check on his patients. Lastly, I'd like to mention as a patient, I put my utmost faith and trust in all my Medical Providers. I personally feel Dr. Vareldzis is of the caliber that exceeds anything I have previously experienced. I feel very Blessed to have this gentleman as my Dentist.

Since there was only one ENT group in our area I had to use the same group to get a 2nd opinion. I went to see Dr. Reeck for this. When i arrived he already looked angry or upset with me. He talked to me and got my history and then did a very fast painful jerky scope of my sinuses. He said they look totally normal. (Like I was faking or lying) when he looked in my mouth and throat I had a tooth that had a cap which had come off and I had an appointment with a dentist to get it fixed but it wasn't painful so no hurry. He said as he was examining my mouth, 'of course you have teeth that aren't taken care of.' Like I was a lowlife of some kind. I'm actually a retired nurse and was offended by his comments and thought what if I was low income and couldn't afford dental care? That was really unnecessary. When he looked in my ears, the one giving me problems had wax in it. He said oh my g-- you need to clean your ears. Embarrassing but when I said I had been told q-tips don't work they just push the was farther in, he looked at me like I was crazy, rolled his eyes and shook his head. I am a clean person and really felt he had formed an opinion of me and that's what he went with. He also did nothing to help me. He said my medical Dr. would have to help me figure out what was wrong in my head near my ear.

I'm not a medical doctor, but am a biologist, so I understand some of the technical speak. He asked about my background so that he could tailor a conversation not over my head but also not under. The tumor was about the size of a grape, but wasn't causing facial paralysis. Therefore, surgery was optional. Dr. Reeck explained a lot about what the tumor likely was, complications with its position, etc. Then, he asked me what I wanted to do. He listened to my thoughts and answered more questions. I greatly appreciated him taking the time to have the conversation so that I felt empowered to make the decision. Dr. Reeck never seemed flustered by my questions or stupid jokes. He rolled with it all. His bedside manner was light-hearted, calm and refreshing. As another reviewer noted, Dr. Reeck is down to earth. That really captures him. He visited me before surgery, again with his calm, caring persona. I had no reservations about going into surgery. His confidence, without being pretentious, was admirable. His bedside manner shined again during my post-op appointment. His medical assistant, Alex, was friendly, kind, efficient and effective. If I ever need another ENT appointment, I know who I will seek out!

Instead I had an…read moreabsolutely wild call with Tiffany at the desk the day of my appointment for an exam (Mon) where she berated me for not returning their Friday 11:37 am phone call by 2pm before they closed early for the weekend. I told her I was at work, but that was not a good enough reason apparently? She was calling to repeatedly flat out insist that my insurance was not through the company on the card I was holding in my hand, but was through HMA instead and that I needed to call them and sort this out. I repeatedly insisted that I had never heard of HMA and that it wasn't my insurance and that I was holding my insurance card in my hand and I was pretty sure it was correct. No, it was incorrect, she "wasn't trying to be argumentative" but it was absolutely incorrect and I needed to call my dentist to get my correct insurance information or I needed to call my real insurance company HMA and figure it out or I could have this insurance company that I thought was my insurance company call her and give her my information. But no, she wouldn't be trying to call the company whose card I was holding, she didn't have time before lunch. So it turns out that, yes, the card I was holding is in fact the card of my insurance provider and, yes, my dentist does in fact have my correct insurance on file and yes, they did send it to her, they just told her it could be looked up ON the HMA website. It's also the same, correct, information that I had to give them before I was able to book an appointment at Associates for Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery in the first place. I'm really not sure how we ended up here at all. Tiffany called back to blame it all on my dentist but I let her know I'd booked with another oral surgeon instead and cancelled my appointment at AOMS. I get that misunderstandings happen, but to be argued with like that and have someone absolutely refuse to hear me out was a huge red flag for me. If that's how patients are spoken to and treated at Associates for Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery - somewhere that practices sedation dentistry and actively advertises for anxious and phobic patients - if that's how Dr. Rajagopal & Dr. Savage conduct their business I can't have any confidence that I would be treated any differently while someone is literally operating on my face. (Jokes a little on them because I fully knew that I'm nearing the max on my dental insurance and would likely be paying cash for the procedure itself, I just wanted my dental insurance to cover what it could on the exam while I saved in the meantime. Congrats to the Dr. that will now be receiving a cash payment though!)

So I would say their work is of the highest quality there is. Just excellent. That whole place runs like a well oiled machine. They make sure everything happens how it's supposed to. They take care of everything and think of everything. Sincerely. At 62 years old, I have had a lot of dental work in my life. This place and this guy are the best there is OR among the others who are BEST. He's at the top of his game. I just can't say enough good about these people. And he has some of the best dental hygienists on staff there. Crystal Johnson is my favorite. Since I don't have dental insurance they offer both a cash discount and a senior discount to me.
