When I did my consultation with Dr Su, she was so friendly and informative and I commend her on having both types of LASIK done on each eye to be an excellent doctor. Just had a free consultation for lasik today at LasikPlus. Parking was fine as they had a garage and it's connected to the building. They are located on the 3rd floor. Prior to my appointment, I completed all the necessary paperwork, which I feel made the process more efficient. I was welcomed immediately and checked in. Once I sat down, I felt like I got right back up and was in a treatment room, lol. I can't recall the person who checked my vision, etc, but she was great and very helpful and transparent. She gave me all the information I needed. I then was able to talk to Dr. Tia Budde and she also checked my vision and let me know all the details regarding the surgery. Update: my new eyes are great! I absolutely loved the experience. Dr. January was the best and so kind. This place deserves as many stars as it can get. Everyone prepared me for the experience, as I was going through the surgery they talked about what would happen and what I'd experience. Afterward, it was blurry but I could already see further than I could originally. After my nap and medicated drops, it was absolutely clear and it wasn't hurting. The follow-up day after, even better. It's now been 3 days post surgery and I'm still doing drops and I'm completely fine! It's worth it if you don't want contacts/glasses and you qualify for it! I recently went for a consultation. I booked my lasik for this Thursday and I can't be more excited. You do have a bit of waiting process and tests during the consultation, but it's all to see if you qualify for surgery. They work with your cost and had a discount when I went as well as a coupon if you do the 0% interest for 12 month option. It's been 2 weeks and a few days after getting Lasik and my eyes have healed very well, no issues outside of dryness. The staff at this office are professional and very friendly with a sense of humor. On the day of the procedure, Dr January plays music to distract you from the procedure and it's so quick you barely feel discomfort. A few days-up to a week after my eyes were a bit sore, it also felt like I had grains of sand in my eyes. 2 weeks later, this discomfort has subsided and I can see clearly. It is important to follow the instruction sheet to heal properly and avoid complications. As far as getting this done in this current environment with COVID-19- you are in good hands. The staff sanitize their office and equipment well enough. I'm a little paranoid and asked them to do it in my presence, and didn't get push back. It took me years to finally decided to take an eye correction surgery. I wanted to go somewhere that I feel comfortable and I feel I can trust. I researched online and saw lots of great reviews of Lasik Surgery Center and Dr.January. Most importantly they have life time program that they can do touch up without additional cost, which is a big plus for me. The surgery is super quick, in and out (including waiting time) is about 20-30 minutes. Surgery itself is about 10-15 minutes. Dr. January and staff there is great, very friendly and assuring. I was suggested with PRK rather than Lasik because some parts of my cornea was not thick enough for Lasik. It took a while to recover. The 1st week was tough and really uncomfortable. After 2 weeks I could start seeing things better. After 3 months, I got 20/15 vision! After wearing contacts for over 20 years, I felt weird waking up and see things crystal clear! and it is weird not to wear glasses anymore in the evening. No more contacts and no more worrying about not packing contact solution or contact box for travelling! Can't be happier!! read more

Dr. January conducted my surgery on February 1, 2018 and I am happy with the results. The staff was friendly, but I would have liked there to be more dialogue between what was happening at each step during the Lasik procedure. I did extensive research on Lasik and the potential problems, read articles, and watched YouTube videos to better understand what to prepare for. My entire lasik appointment the day of the surgery lasted less than 10 minutes, but I was in the office for about a total of 1 hour 15 minutes. My follow up appointment was the next day, where I noticed immediately that my vision was amazingly clear. The only discomfort I had was in one of my eyes which I was told due to a dry patch. Dry eyes is a common occurrence from what I understand, and I'm hoping that more frequent eye lubrication and healing with time will fix this issue. I recommend you do your research and do not feel pressured to undergo a procedure if you're not ready or uncomfortable. P.S I almost wish that they would have a better sheet to coordinate when to take the drops etc. An organized check off box would be useful to include. Best of luck! The Federal Trade Commission defines a Bait-and-Switch scam as the following: When a company intentionally advertises a specific item at a specific price simply to get customers into the store. At that point, the company tries to sell the customer the same (or a different) product at a higher price. The above is exactly what Lasik Plus did. On May 17th, Maria Gutierrez at Lasik Plus sent me an email saying that Lasik Plus would be offering $827 for both eyes for certain days in May. (Please look in the photo gallery to see a screenshot of the email). I called and was able to schedule my surgery for the 26th. However, I saw that Lasik Plus has a low rating with the BBB for bait and switch tactics. So I called again on Tuesday the 23rd to verify that I would be getting the price in the email. SURE ENOUGH.... they switched the price on me! They said it would be $827 OFF of $4298!!!! I pointed out that the email CLEARLY states $827 for both eyes... not $827 off. Long story short...they refused to honor the price they gave me in the email. Thank God I verified the price before hand. I used lasik plus in DFW had a seamless beyond exceptional customer experience this one in Houston has been anything but that I have wasted hours of my work day being tossed back and forth between different parties on the phone for staff not to even recognize my name each time I call this office I am terrified that I referred my mother to have surgery with these people and trust them with her eyes. Dis organized and uninformed on their job role and what their company polices are or aren't. Financing is a headache just pay out of pocket. They try to get you the earliest appointment possible so I went in on a Tuesday and that Friday I got it done. It would have been even sooner if I didn't have to work. They also work around your schedule pretty well which I really appreciate. The staff is so nice. The option to finance is awesome. For the actual procedure I was nervous but Dr. January was able to reassure me that I was a great candidate and there was nothing to be worried about. It's a pretty quick in and out process. The entire staff altogether are awesome. Very energetic, and friendly. Dr. January did my surgery, and he was AWESOME! They do provide blankets, which is nice. I had been considering LASIK for a while but when I ran out of contact I knew it was the best time. I just casually put in a request for a free consultation and when I came in I was greeted with smiling faces and friendly attitudes. I was informed about what the procedure was like and given a tour of the facility! I was given accurate expectation and nothing was sugar coated which was gray because the procedure was easy. I still can't believe a few days ago I was wiping smudges off my glasses and now I'm can drive without looking for my prescription sunglasses and make it from my bed to the bathroom without stubbing my toe! All I can say, is I should've done LASIK like yesterday. Then I remember I did!!! (Most spontaneous thing I've ever done!) I've been in contacts since I was 12 and glasses since I was 9. It was time. I woke up this morning with my eyes feeling like I had an old contact lens in there or like I slept in them. But no contacts or glasses AND I could see!!! Long and lengthy but HONEST review: Results at week 1: Today marks one week that I got PRK eye corrective surgery and I am in the office for my first vision check with Dr. Law. She is amazing, kind and extremely knowledgeable. I asked her several questions and she was able to give me exact and detailed responses without me feeling rushed in any way. She preformed my eye exams twice. Before removing my contacts and again after they were removed. My appointment lasted about 20 minutes and was over before it was even scheduled to start!(Since I was early) I learned that my vision is at a (blurry) 20/25 and I was also cleared to drive. That's amazing improvement and I'm very pleased with my results thus far! For those worried about getting surgery during a Pandemic: (Because I was too) The office does a great job with cleanliness. There are very few patients in the waiting room at the same time, everyone sits at least one seat apart and they take your temperature as soon as you walk in! They are only allowing patients in the office and any family is asked to wait outside. They offer seating and the downstairs lobby also has a seating area if you wish to wait. (I live very close and always just got dropped off and picked up.) They also have lysol and hand sanitizer everywhere and definitely keep all areas very clean. Everyone wears a face mask at all times and all fully cover their mouth and nose. COVID-19 doesn't stand a chance! About the staff: I've got to admit, I was very nervous about this surgery and still do not have crystal clear vision BUT the staff here is just amazing. They are so kind comforting, and welcoming. The Doctor that preformed my PRK surgery was Dr. January and he is just amazing. The staff morale is above par, and it's clear that everyone not only loves their job here BUT they also love each other! I loved seeing them interact with one another in such a friendly yet professional manner. Communication with the Doctor is super important: First day I met Dr. January he gave me his personal cell phone number & he actually answers very promptly! I sent him texts with questions before surgery and I always got very prompt and detailed replies that made me feel more comfortable and always fully answered my question. After surgery my mom called him on a different phone number, on a Sunday morning, and he answered right away. That definitely won over my moms heart and comforted her a lot(and she's never met him). Just goes to say this Doctor really cares and is here for all of his patients, and I've never seen this down at such a high level before. There is no lack in communication at this office which is 10/10 in my book. About PRK: (I'm not a Dr this is my general Knowlage) PRK is different from LASIK in that there is no "flap" being made on the cornea. Instead, the top layer is painlessly brushed off before being treated by the laser and then they put a prescription-less contact lens in your eye. This is less invasive than LASIK but does have a greater and more painful recovery time. (Pain only lasts about 2-3 days) there are other Pros & cons & I recommend researching it, or asking your doctor about the differences. My statistics: My Left eye was at -3.5 and Right was at -4.0 with astigmatism. I'm 23 years old, am a Masters of Accounting student and I am taking an online class through out all of this. (And live & home) My PERSONAL Experience: (everyone's eyes are different & your experience could differ from mine!) Day 1 I didn't feel much pain and even managed to finish up a little discussion for school before sleeping the rest of the day. (Don't recommend using a computer that early on but I didn't have a choice) My most painful days were days 2(night) till day 4 (morning) & I slept a majority of the day though Days 1-4. (If I wasn't sleeping I stayed in a dark room and would ice my eyes & listen to music or funny podcasts) The Xanax they gave me honestly didn't work and I had to resort to taking other medications that DID give me great relief! The "pain" for me was a constant burning feeling and was more bothersome and annoying than "painful". But once it's gone, it's gone. By day 5-6 I would get headaches from straining to see because of my blurry vision but it's normal and Extra Strength Tylenol helps a lot!! I recommend taking 5-7 days off of work/ school for less stress and so you can give your eyes the best ability to heal (my personal opinion) BUT by day 5 I was already comfortably looking at my zoomed in computer screen. I have not experienced any dry eye issues yet, and am very good at keeping up with my drops. read more
