The kids had a blast, the Linkin Park cover band was amazing, great performance. Great variety of food trucks and a few carnival rides to keep the kids busy. There's lots of open land, lots of trees, and a wealth of activity areas including a water park. When we stopped by on a rainy afternoon, there weren't many people in the park at all. Some of the many activity areas include: Half a dozen baseball fields, a couple softball fields, a few multi purpose fields, and a playground for the little ones with various structures. None of the fields were occupied when we were there. And then there are the picnic areas -- some tables with grills. And even a picnic pavilion that is good for groups. It can be rented. Plus on top of all this -- a water park.The Calypso Bay Waterpark even has its own entrance. There's an entrance fee for this seasonal park. There's a lap pool, river ride, water slide, and a water "playground". Prices to enter depend on one's age. It was closed when we dropped by. I think it reopens in March, but call for dates before you come. This water park would be perfect for swimming lessons and/or kids birthday parties. This big park must really be busy in spring/summer. And when the ball games are being played. There are a plethora of parking spaces! It seemed a bit eerie to drive by all the empty spaces the day we came.

Seminole Palms Park amenities include 6 lighted baseball fields, 2 lighted softball fields, 3 multipurpose fields, picnic pavilions and picnic tables with grills, restrooms, and playground. The park is also home to the Calypso Bay Waterpark which has an interactive water playground, lap pool, lazy river, 2 water slides, and food concession. Sports field parks are not my personal favorite kind of park but Seminole Palms is beautifully maintained and provides a great recreations resource for the many sports teams in the area. The water park looks very family friendly for anyone looking to cool down on a hot day. Come out this park to enjoy the athletic fields, picnic areas, playground, and the seasonal water park.

Camellia Park was one of the first parks built in the city. In 2012, $600,000 worth of improvements were made to the park, Camellia Park is ten acres and has an exercise path, tennis courts, bocce court, racquetball courts, picnic table and grill, sand volleyball court, little league baseball field, benches, and a restroom. My favorite part of the park is the nature themed playground set under the giant banyan trees. The trees look like they are standing guard over the play equipment which includes a rope bridge, climbing structures, and a slide. This is an enchanting place to play. It is also completely fenced which keeps the children protected.

There is a plaque and stone memorial to the astronauts near the lake. Other park amenities include a small parking lot, fishing dock on the lake where bass is a frequently caught, picnic pavilions with tables, a restroom, a memorial fountain, relaxing bench swings, and my favorite part, an exercise path that winds around the lake. The park is open daily from 7Am until 9 PM for fishing, meditation, exercise, and recreation.

The last time I was here the playground was closed after being shut down July 2022 for construction activity related to the Town Center Phase 2 project. It resumed regular operating hours in May of 2023. When I visited the recent Lakeside Market I was delighted to find it filled with happy children playing on the unique and inclusive equipment. Scott's Place Barrier-Free Playground was built in 2010 with a donation made by Wellington residents Del and Barbara Williamson in honor of their son Scott Scott had cerebral palsy and sadly passed away at age of six. The playground is barrier free meaning it was designed to meet the needs of both able-bodied and disabled children. There aren't many playgrounds created to be barrier free so this is a very special play space for all of the children of Wellington to enjoy. As part of this project, Wellington held a community build weekend event where more than 300 volunteers assembled all of Scott's Place playground equipment. This fenced in playground is themed to Wellington's horse culture with a large horse statue, play wagon, and a horse spring rider. There are the traditional climbing equipment and swings that you expect to find at any playground but also special equipment like sensory items, a communication board where non verbal children can point at pictures to let people know their needs, and wheelchair ramps. There is also a reading corner, covered pavilion, benches, and restrooms. Parents can appreciate the safety aspects of this play space while the kids can enjoy creative play that encourages imagination and physical movement. Kudos to Wellington for creating this safe, clean, and inclusive environment for children to play and explore.

We periodically come after school so they can get some of the energy out before going home. Those who know, know! There are also shaded spots for parents to relax and watch their kids play. Overall, Scott's Place is a welcoming, thoughtful space that encourages social interaction and supports children's emotional well-being through play.

In the back of the park is a hiking trail into the Royal Palm Beach Pines Natural Area. The 773 acres of the preserve contain a wet prairie and a pine forest. This natural area is part of the Great Florida Bird and Wildlife Trail and Northeast Everglades Natural Area. Palm Beach county purchased most of the land in 1992 and 1993 and the rest was deeded to them in a mitigation settlement. Unfortunately the trail entrance in the park was flooded due to recent rain but there is another entrance in the back of the Saratoga Pines subdivision.

There is a lot of farm land and many people own horses. The park is a generous 30.12 acres located directly on Southern Boulevard. Park amenities include equestrian trails, a 10 station, 1.47 mile exercise course, open green space, picnic tables with grills, picnic pavilions which can be rented, a playground, bathrooms, and a ball field. I like how this park has a lot of trees. They provide shade for my favorite part of the park, the fitness trail. On the day I visited people were running their dogs, picnicking, and playing softball. You feel like you are out in the country but less than a mile away is all of the strip malls selling everything you need. Really close to the park is a brand new Aldi's where you can purchase all your picnic items. This is a great place to enjoy fresh air and nature.
