It was discovered that our previous insurance agent, whom recently passed and business was sold, wrote our insurance under a wrong policy. Our claim was denied, Ian Glick, had no knowledge or understanding of the difference in the policies. I was left to fight the insurance company on my own with no help from Glick. After hours of research and weeks of fighting, our insurance company determined that the policy that we were insured under was incorrect and paid out our claim. Glick only tells you that they can save you money by looking at your current policy and seeing what is out there based on an apples to apples comparison. At no time are questions asked to make sure that you are being insured properly in case of a catastrophic loss. Beware!!!!

I was calling with my father who has been a customer since 1976. She had no interest in helping us with our questions and sent us to the head office. The head office was very helpful but thought the Cleveland office might have the information we needed on hand. Ashley let me know I'd already called her and she was not willing to put herself out to help us. Basically it was clear she does not want to hear from us again. I have a feeling there is something very wrong at the Cleveland office based on the length of time my father has been paying premiums and the type of policy he has in place with them.

I mean the yearly price was fair and she was very compassionate and sincere. Now my time has come for renewal and I call Valerie. Unfortunately Valerie is injured and not working, so feeling comfortable with the company I opted to speak with another adjuster. BIG MISTAKE!!! This guy who says he sits next to her is handling her accounts. I give him account number and inform him that my SR22 was going to expire in 7 days. he then asked for my telephone number and says he'll call me back that day. He never called until 2 days after it expired. Luckily I found another company who appreciated me paying yearly. Being retired military, I used to do business with the usual choice for the military. For some reason they kept raising my rates--a lot--every year, despite no accidents. I'd call them to try to get my jalopy car off of full coverage (I only wanted it on my valuable car) and they wouldn't let me. All cars "had to have the same coverage level" despite the level of practicality to do so. Which of course added to the rate increases. I used to swear by them, even brag about them, but they wore me down with their new anti-consumer ways along with their excessive condescending attempts to get involved in my personal finances, whether I needed their advice or not. I've had Progressive a couple years now. Rates started much lower than my former carrier and have only gone down further since--and they haven't been bothering me with unwanted advice via email or when I log in. Nobody asked me to write this review, I was just thinking how nice it was to have simple and hassle free car insurance...finally. And to be able to choose my own coverage. I hope they keep doing what they're doing and don't decide to go all control-freakish on me too.

They refused to provide an OEM windshield even though my car is new and aftermarket windshields won't calibrate with my car. They keep demanding I use aftermarket and say it's my problem. California Law says that they have to replace it with OEM when aftermarket doesn't work. Progressive told me they don't care what the law says. My policy says they can use aftermarket replacement parts. They are non-compliant with the law and they don't care. They will care when they get a demand from the Insurance commission.
