Love getting stronger at Todd Pilates!

Todd Pilates is my favorite workout class! The instructors are great and the exercises are super low impact. I also like that I can come empty handed because all equipment and mats are provided. Thanks for being such an amazing source of health for me!

Really nice group workout activity. I love the instructors and the workouts are really hard, but adjustments are ok!

But now that I've become a mom, and have a mom body, decided I'd try all the Pilates, core, barre you name it workouts in the vicinity of my bubble, and what better way than a quick walk from my office on the days I go into the office. I'm actually a lifetime member so I frequent my gym up north for the fantabulous child care, but pure barre was something I tried recently again with sweetgreens opening and sponsoring a workout class. I've found I absolutely love Pure Barre Define and Empower, these 2 have the core basis of the classic routine, but incorporate more weights and cardio than my prior core workouts of Classic. I am overdue for a classic trial, and taking classes with Rachel (owner) and Margaret have been absolutely lovely and fantastic, uplifting and such a highlight of my day, getting such a good workout in, and leaving just to do it all over again next week. I purchased a pack of credits and appreciate how I can get my classes, which this location can book up pretty quick if you don't book in advance, but the community is solid, and I love the classes are non judgemental, you go at your own pace, and the instructors have hands on adjustments to help you improve, and genuinely keep you here for yourself! I don't feel like I can go anywhere else and not leave high on endorphins and dying from a killer workout lol :) Finally - the fact that the music is everything I enjoy, well it 1000% makes my hour that much more enjoyable and fun. Their playlist is a bop as the kids say these days!

The Domain studio is a great location, beautiful studio and Katie A. (despite her adorable demeanor) was b-r-u-t-a-l! I've since learned that this Pure Pilates prides itself on super educating, training each instructor to the highest of standards and it shows!! Highly recommend. We will be back! I'm impressed to see this place is still as beautiful as the day I stopped by when I saw I came back in 2017, and now as a mom who needs to work on her mobility, health and core strength meets posture, this place did not disappoint! I've met Zilla, who Ally, the owner teaches some sessions on Wednesdays and I can get my doggy cuddles while I am getting my Pilates workout on? Win win! Even better is they're close by my office, which makes it a quick walk over! Sold! And with utilizing ClassPass and being friendly and no pressure, this is my kind of place and one that I plan to return to for a local boutique studio for my wellness and fitness goals!

Add the tum tum, and you would think this is the last place I would end up. The different orthopedic doctors and Physical Therapists all basically said go to something like this and see what makes you hurt :-( . I called and talked to the business and it turns out that they have many different types of classes, including rehab and recovery. They would make adjustments for me if needed. The business was spotless and organized to a T. Then came the class. The instructor, Jennifer, was quite charming as was the staff. The attendees were all ages, shapes, sizes, and I was not the only man there. Jennifer said she could adjust the instruction if needed due to all my damage and I said no way, go full blast and if I had problems I would adjust myself. So, full of confidence, I started immediately with the class which was a "grace", or something like that, for newbies. Jennifer was enthusiastic, and kept the tempo going. I had some problems at first following the instructions as I was new to this, but with the mirrors and her assistants, I started getting the idea. Yeah! I heard "shake it off and rest" but I could never see where "rest" was in the picture. I realized that if I totally stopped I would never be able to start up again, so I did the best I could. Then I learned to hate the words "bar and barre". When you are told to grab or lean on the bar, you are really going to get it. All in all, it was wonderful. Jennifer or one of her assistants would come and help with advice, and there was only 2 moves I could not do. When we were finally finished, my muscles were shaking so bad from lack of use in the past few years, I asked my wife to drive home, much to her glee. Fast forward 1 day and I am worn out and sore, but in a good way. I am definitely more flexible, I don't have pain where I used to have pain, so this event probably saved me a lot of money to doctors and therapists as I know now where to target and to what extent I can handle and still live.

Walking into the studio you feel like you're in a trendy little boutique. Cute furniture, modern furnishings. The receptionist immediately greeted my friend and I and gave us a quick tour around. I felt very comfortable there for it being my first time. The instructor, Emily, met with us before class to explain what we were in for and reassure us that it was ok to work out within our own limits and take breaks as needed. We did the Shape class which encompasses strength training and toning. You might think a class loosely based on ballet sounds kind of like an easy work out, but it was definitely not! I work out at least a few times a week and this class really put me in my place. My arms were aching 5 minutes in and my butt was burning pretty much the whole time. I can't see how you wouldn't get in shape if you do this class regularly! There's a special right now where you get 2 classes for $22 as a new client and it was totally worth it. I have felt healthy and energized all day. It's nice to work out in such a clean and pretty environment. I really hope to make this a regular part of my week.

I was there for a collab class with Social workout club. They had fun Valentine's Day decor in the space. Then there is an area with tables and chairs and a counter for sitting and relaxing before class and then a locker room area with benches where you can store your items during the class. The studio was clean and had bikes in good working condition. I was assigned a bike and the staff made sure that I knew how to adjust the bike and clip in before class. The instructor Dom Hernandez was very energetic and lead an effective and fun cycle workout. He was very encouraging and positive with a lot of motivational encouragement. The cycle class was 45-minute rhythmic ride that incorporates the entire body. The class had great music and consisted of coordinated movements on the bike such as tapbacks, push ups, crunches, intervals and an arm workout with weights. I've been twice, both times on a ClassPass credit, my friend who has a membership toggles between frequenting the Triangle and Domain location as we both work up north, and she loves it. I'm a bit more chill, laid back and these days doing workouts, wanting to challenge myself and dedicate time to putting myself first, trying boutique studios with mega reformers, which are daunting and offer friendly coaches and great playlists that hit. The first time I showed up here, was on a lunch workday session, where the instructor showed up 1 minute before class started? I didn't get an overview of understanding cues, format and studio sessions groundwork of how the classes should go, winged it and copied and tried to follow what my friend was doing. A lot of people standing around wondering what to do, which was such a strange vibe. It was rushed and ended later too since we're behind but I thought to try again once more. Today I had a session with coach Kendall and she brought the vibes and energy to cheer me along! I loved it, plus with this 7am Saturday class being extra gloomy and grey outside, she was so fun and offered a friendly newbie where to go, and frequent hands on correction, all the things you'd expect from a studio for the price point and smaller class size. I don't think this is the workout for me tho - the classes in the studio are extra loud, dark and the blue lights are dim like a club lol - which if you're into making the class a night out but for improving your fitness, this is it. For my mid 30's self in my mom suburban chill life, maybe not so much ha :) All around I still had a very challenging time, and appreciated that the 50 mins flew by!
