Saw that it wasn't busy so put my name down as there is sometimes a wait. Today was only 10 minute wait. You don't have to strip down like some other places, just to your t-shirt or single layer. It was soothing and surprisingly quuet, even though it is in the mall. Maybe I dozed off as I was a bit tired too. Friendly service and very professional. I recommend if you need a quick massage and don't really have one that you regularly go to.

That being said, don't let that put you off since you are left clothed (they still cover you up with a sheet). Furthermore, you can't see anyone else as you are lying face down on the massage table. Receiving a massage here is pretty fantastic. I've been to other massage clinics, and they don't do nearly as good a job as here. Having been here on several occasions over the years, I can safely say that they perform top notch massages. There has been many an occasion where I've come in with severe knots in my neck/shoulders from work or hockey, and each time I've felt relief after undergoing one of their shiatsu sessions. During each session (and you wouldn't think this to be the case) I tend to fall asleep, but there have also been moments of wincing pain where muscles have been really tight (but a good sort of pain, if that makes sense). Typically after a 40 minute session I am groggy and well relaxed. It just feels great. I brought my mother here who suffers from an extremely tense neck and shoulder muscles as a result of work-related injuries due to repetitive motions (she was skeptical about this place) and she is now hooked because they were able to really work out some of the tension in her muscles. Another plus is that the therapists really put effort into their craft and always act professionally. You can go at any time during the day and receive a massage and be well assured that it would be just as good if you were the first customer, or the last customer. This is quite a contrast to some other places I've been in terms of a consistently good massage. The only downside to Japan Shiatsu Clinic is that many medical plans do not seem to cover this type of massage. However, for my money, this place and the therapists that work here are top notch.

Booked RMT- unable to book online but was able to book via email with response promptly. RMT is only through one therapist which is only on Tuesdays... bummer, I hope there will be more options later since places like Spautopia has many RMTs so it's easy to have a spa date. Perhaps not the right terms but let me tell you, it sounds and feels so satisfying! I feel relaxed and a bit tender next day which is a sign of a good massage. The environment is peaceful and clean too. There is paid street parking in the front. I've tried many RMTs in the past and although this is not a RMT massage, Nancy has made me feel better than them because of how she can target those knots in my shoulder. I asked how her day was going, and she basically said she usually doesn't work Saturday's and so was not that keen on it but people want to use their insurance before the end of the year so she was kind of forced to do it. Okay. Then the massage started at 6 minutes late with static holds. Basically she was manually stretching me. It was mildly relaxing but given her first comment it seemed like she was preserving energy. A couple times during the massage she stopped entirely. (I think she was taking bites out of a wrap?). The massage wrapped up on the hour, so I paid for 60 minutes, got 54 of pack-lustre massage. Sorry. Can't recommend this place. Also the bathroom was dingy. There were no paper towels to dry my hands. She told me to use Kleenex, that's what it was there for.

There is a reason why I have followed her as she is great and very kind. Her room is clean and ambiance is calm and relaxed. She also has essential oils.
