You gotta stop in for breakfast on Saturday morning! The biscuits and gravy always sell out.

Definitely will be back for a Friday Fish Fry, which seems to be their most popular night of the week. Our server was very kind, I forgot his name but maybe Cory??? Pickle chips: good, piping hot and served with ranch. Cheddar balls: they were good, also piping hot and served with ranch. Grilled chicken salad: this was a very good, simple salad. Shredded cheese, spring mix, good chicken, eggs and tomatoes, it's a very basic salad but plentiful. Very fresh. Taco salad (no shell): also a fresh salad and plentiful, no chintzing here! Tomatoes and onions came on the side (which is why it looks basic in the pic). Philly: very good, hot and no skimping on toppings. Big boy was happy with this sammy. Tenderloin: we liked this one because it wasn't super thin, and wasn't overcooked like so many are. Great flavor, good portion, crinkle fries...who doesn't love a good, hot crinkle fry? Chili and grilled cheese: the only so so dish we had. Chili lacked flavor, no chili powder taste, more like tomato soup. Grilled cheese was warm, not hot, so it was just ok. Homemade chocolate cake: very tasty, not super sweet, and a large slice. Very inexpensive place, nothing fancy but totally worth the drive! We had a great time taking a family drive just to try a new place outside of DSM. We will be back for a Friday fish fry!

It was jumping with live music, a few local vendors selling goods, and great vibes! Saturday I tried a salted caramel oat milk latte and was 5/10, not much flavor but still good. Sunday I came back and ordered it with some honey, and it was much better 7/10. My husband liked his so if you like a sweeter latte, I recommend adding some extra flavor. The avocado toast was really good! 10/10 Vegan yogurt parfait was very good 10/10 and I was surprised and grateful to see a vegan option in this small town. My husband had the bacon breakfast sandwich and claims it's 9/10, he really liked the fresh ciabatta it comes on. They also sell local beers which is pretty cool! The aesthetic inside is cute and airy. They also have a back patio and some seating out front! The staff is very friendly and personable. Great service, tasty lattes, and quick breakfast bites. Highly recommend!

We didn't know what to expect but the street parking outside was misleading. We walked into the bar door and it was busy. The place was hopping and there was multiple tables eating around . The waitress came to check on us right away. We checked out the menu and were in the mood to try the fried tenderloin. The waitress said she really liked it and told us it was a good choice. Hubby got the Philly steak sandwich and fries. The longer we stayed the louder it got. More and more people kept coming in the door and heading back further into a park of the building we couldn't see from our seats. It made it hard to talk at our table of 4. I think this is the place to be for Earlham and the locals. It had a great atmosphere and good food. The staff knew about everyone who walked in. The waitress was one of the things that made the experience good. She was happy to talk with us and tell us what she thought of certain food items. I liked my tenderloin and fries. I would suggest to anyone to go and check this place out.

Other members of my party had the recommended pork tenderloin and they all said how good it was. I had the Philly steak sandwich, I was very happy I did. Great bun and flavor from that sandwich and the whole meal/experience left me happy to leave an extra large tip. It seemed after 6 it got louder and made it harder to have a conversation. If you stop in earlier you will have a quite experience. If you stop in later in the evening it seems you will have a party like atmosphere. It's nice that you can get both in the same place.

I love that when you drive up, you can see all the greens growing inside. We placed our order, then had a quick chat with the friendly young man at the window. But there wasn't much time for conversation because as promised, we got the world's freshest salads. It was so quick. We got home an opened up our salads and they looked amazing. My husband got the southwest salad and I got the Caesar salad. They were both delicious. Everything was incredibly fresh and so tasty. We really liked the Salad Girl dressings as well. I'm super picky about salads, and if it's not fresh, then I'm not interested. This was easily the best salad I've ever had. My Mother has been having their lettuce delivered practically since the beginning and I am always impressed with the freshness and flavor. Unfortunately, their facilities tours were not available during our visit, but I'd love to take the tour sometime. I will be insisting on visiting Clayton Farms Salads every time we visit Ames.

4/14/26 3:15 p.m…read more Online Order for Pick Up Food: We were very excited to try the food here, but we weren't too impressed, unfortunately. We ordered a Caesar Wrap w/chicken, Chicken Pesto w/no cherry tomatoes, Firehouse Chimichurri w/steak and no cherry tomatoes, Chocolate Smoothie, and Farmer's Punch. For starters, all of the produce was fresh and crisp (which is always a plus), but you can tell that meat is not their forte. The chicken tasted as if it were precooked, frozen chicken (not saying that's a bad thing, just didn't seem as if it was freshly cooked), and the steak was full of almost inedible gristle. The overall flavor of the food was pretty lackluster as well, besides on the Chicken Pesto; the balsamic vinaigrette was very overpowering. The Caesar Wrap was large, but the sandwiches were quite small portion-wise. The Chocolate Smoothie tasted more like a green smoothie with chocolate protein powder, and we had a really hard time keeping it mixed; sadly, we didn't finish it :( The Farmer's Punch, on the other hand, was really good! Service: The service wasn't bad, but it wasn't good either. The person who greeted us was friendly, but not particularly social, if that makes sense? It almost seemed as if they didn't have enough time for us. They were polite and quick with getting our order to us, though. Ambiance: Inside is quite small and not meant for a dine-in experience; there are no tables at all. This is definitely a pick-up/to-go/drive-through type of establishment. It's kept very clean, though, from what we could see.
