I went here two times during my stay in D.F. I had good experiences both times. They have a pond with fish and a bridge over it that you cross to enter the restaurant. Too gimmicky for my taste. Once you are inside though, it is a great experience. Casual settings and they have windows that open to Hamburgo and from there you can observe the hustle and bustle of the Zona Rosa. The first time I went, I ordered the Green Tea, Nigiri Especial and Mackerel with rice. I asked them to not include the shrimp as I am not a big fan of shrimp in Nigiri form. The waiter was happy to substitute it with a salmon Nigiri. Both the Nigiri and the Mackerel were excellent. The second time I ordered the Nigiri Regular, Spanish Mackerel, Rice and Green Tea. This time I forgot to mention that I don't want shrimp. The food was excellent again. The nigiris included are different than what is on the photo in the menu - this is understandable, fish supplies change - so you may want to ask what is included. Overall, a really good experience.

This place was delicious. It was very similar to what I'm used to at home. It is typically more pricier than other options in the area. The entrance way to this restaurant is beautiful as there is a stone pathway that goes over a koi pond. I think their selection of sushi is quite impressive. The only thing that tasted a little different was the moisture in the rice. The restaurant is very clean and the service is wonderful. Have yourself a Sapporo and a bottle of sake!

This place was really awesome. The sushi is cheap and the sashimi is fresh. I would recommend to anyone looking to get a sushi fix while traveling in Mexico.

Cool place, nice food, excellent attention. A little dark and the music could better... Other than that, I recommend this place to eat near downtown...

Omg! We're already talking about what to order on our next visit…read more Had an early dinner (by local standards) at 6:30pm on a rainy Friday night. We were seated right away without a reservation. Loved the decor and the casual, intimate atmosphere. We tried the sashimi, vegetable gyoza, salmon don, wagyu beef, seafood fried rice, and finished with the chocolate cake for dessert. Everything was delicious. If I had to offer a critique, I'd say the wagyu was just okay--not bad, just okay. Deep respect to the kitchen for executing such a comprehensive menu. The consistency shines through not just in the high-ticket items but also in the staples like gyoza and fried rice.

You can scan the QR code to pull up the menu. It was in both Spanish and English. The menu was extensive, a little something for everyone. There was ramen, rice bowl, udon, sushi, sashimi, shabu, maki, nigiri, etc.   I tried the maguro mix don that had chu-toro, o-toro, and akami on top of white rice. This was a perfectly balanced meal. A good fatty texture on the sashimi. Rice to fish ratio was also good. It was refreshing from all the food we've been eating in CDMX. We all enjoyed our don and ramen.   Service was a bit slow regarding when our food came out but they brought out everyone's food at the same time. The restroom was clean as well. The indoor seating looks spacious. Overall, we enjoyed our meal here and would recommend this spot if you're looking for Japanese food in the Roma Norte area.

I came here for my birthday because I love to celebrate my birthday with a great omakase. I have…read morebeen to the Santa Fe location before but since this one is the OG one I wanted to try this one. From the outside it looks like a cute spot from Japan which makes you feel like you teleported and the decor on the inside was very cute. The service was so great, everyone was nice and answered all my questions. From the moment I step foot inside they welcomed me in Japanese and Spanish which really gave to the teleporting vibe. The chef who did my omakase was so nice I wish I remembered his name but you can see him in the picture. His style of omakase was amazing and as we got to the end it just kept getting better and better. He had my dad and I saying "wow" over and over again. One of the courses that blew my mind was the fatty salmon nigiri with shaved frozen foie gras which gave it the perfect buttery texture wow. To top it off he gave us a Wagyu nigiri with uni on top which is literally butter on butter and I was so amazed. The other chef said wait till you try the eel with the foie gras and WOW like it just kept getting better and better. I left sooo full I couldn't finish my dessert even though it was delicious and I felt like I was going to explode so we walked around reforma. Some people think omakase will not fill you up but it sure does! Thank you so much to the team of Rokai for making my birthday amazing !

This place was an absolute hit. Some of the best sushi I've had in months…read more They have plenty of outdoor dining, and friendly, prompt service. They have a pretty extensive menu ranging from cold dishes like sushi to hot dishes like Ramen and rice bowls from next door. We started with two appetizers, the Gyoza and the Shishito peppers. The shishito peppers were excellent, and had a flavor I had never quite experienced with them before from whatever sauce they were made in. They were very delicious. The Gyoza was also very tasty, and had a hint of ginger that was a nice addition. For my meal, I ordered a bunch of pieces of nigiri. Every piece came out perfectly fresh and incredibly made, for an absolutely delicious experience. We finished off with the Matcha tiramisu, a dish I wasn't even expecting to be so incredible. I would love to go back for it, although frankly I'd love to go back to this place for everything I ate tonight. We also shared the strawberry mochi, which was so good we ended up ordering a second one. I'm already looking forward to returning here. All of this that I mentioned, plus the rice bowl that my cousin ordered, was only $80. It is pricey, but less pricey than I was expecting.

JAPANESE COMFORT FOOD - This is not a place you take someone to impress them. The service is decent…read morebut it feels like a fast food place. And it is. But still, you call for assistance by pushing a button and someone comes out to assist you and in that sense the service is generally prompt. The gyudon is their star dish, basically the dish that made Yoshinoya famous rules the menu. It's not gourmet by a long shot, but for those who like the gyudon at Yoshinoya (like my wife) this place is incredible. I also had the tonkotsu ramen. The noodles were thin and very soft, the meat was decent, and the broth was thick and rich, almost like a gravy, but with a rich proper tonkotsu flavor that is surprisingly hard to find in CDMX. As you eat it it goes down almost like dry ramen with added sour cream, which is my favorite form, so so despite the fact culinary elites may scoff at this place, my wife and I will be coming back regularly. If you know my system, any place I would return to weekly is usually an automatic 5 stars, but the yakisoba and the yakituri are a bit too sweet. Still if you stick to tonkotsu or the gyudon and you like this kind of stuff it should land nicely. It may move you like it did us or you may think not much of it but for us it's a win. Give it a shot and let others know what you think. Happy eating from John Seeto!

This includes ramen, Karaage, rice, and a drink. The ramen is plain. The charshu is bad, the Karaage coating not tasty. With that said, they are not even close imitate the Japanese cuisine. Need a lot of work. Service is not much. It is order at counter and delivered to you.
