Cafeteria style Indonesian food can dine in or order togo. Portions were generous and super filling. There were so many options to choose from, staff was super friendly and very helpful in recommending popular choices. I opted to order the rames complete with came with 2 vegetable sides, 2 meat options, choice of base (noodle/rice), satay, and egg. Needless to say, it was a lot of finish for one person! Everything was delicious. At the end of the meal, they staff generously offered us free dessert!

Great food, simple restaurant for consumption of your meal. If you are eating in, they will warm up your meal & serve it to you. All you need to do is to figure what set meal you want. It is a cafeteria style where you get to see the food & picked them. The Indonesian food is excellent! We enjoyed our meal very much, very friendly service. Ambiance is smok & yet clean You can also order takeout

Rames €20

The spicy fish is very good. The fish is fresh and very spicy. The egg curry is also good.

Small family run place cranking out some really good food. There's only a few seats, but it seems most people get takeaway. Lots of meat and veggie options.

Fried noodles, rice, eggplant, chicken, beef, etc,

Stopped by with group for dinner, it was recommended by a local. Its a small mom & pop with not a lot of seating as it seemed most of the folks coming in were picking up takeout. The food was delicious if I lived in the neighborhood I'd be picking up lunch/dinner there...based on the line its very popular!

Kartika serves good Indonesian rijsttafel (multi-dish sampler of spicy meats, vegetables, rice, and…read morenoodles). I don't have Indonesian food where I live, so was excited to try this in Amsterdam. I thought the dishes were all flavorful and gave a good mix of meat, vegetable, and rice dishes. The individual servings were small, but filling enough because of the heavy coconut milk used in most dishes. 1 star off: The attitude of the waitstaff was abysmal. First of all, their website does not offer reservations and they rarely answer their phones. So my family and I arrived at restaurant opening to get a table. The first thing they said to us was "Do you have a reservation? If you don't, I can only give you a table if you get out by 6:30PM." in a stern way. We said okay. The group that came after me also raised the issue that no one at the restaurant answers their phone for reservations. The waitstaff did not respond to that, but begrudging seated them. 1 star off: While we were ordering food, the waitstaff noticed that my son had a water bottle with him, and proceeded to give him a lecture that water bottles are not allowed and that we have to order water from them. He is a teenager...he does not know he was supposed to conceal his water bottle at this restaurant. We all ordered drinks, including water, but the experience left my family feeling unwelcomed.

The ambiance of the restaurant was fun and eclectic. I was so happy to see a whole vegetarian section. The peanut sauce from the gado-gado was my favorite hands-down. I also really enjoyed the tofu skewers, even though everything I tasted was amazing. I wished I could have tried more dishes because of how good everything was! The drinks were also tasty. I had a mocktail, which I believe was the BERBUSA PIR. My husband ordered an alcoholic drink that was great as well.

I've walked by this place 1000's of times since it's at the end of the block of my Amsterdam apartment. Since the pandemic, it has been closed to indoor dining more than it has been open. I regret not popping in there for dinner when I had the chance. It's a vast space for Amsterdam. The front door is blocked with a table, candles and menus. Technically masks are not required outside, so if you're inclined to go maskless, this is more convenient. It's a very busy sidewalk during the day, but at night, not so bad. My friends were very satisfied with it too. They are smaller portions (by the sight) but they fill you up in a hurry! It was superlekker. I definitely look forward to exploring their menu options here. I can't believe I didn't try them sooner!

I think many Indonesian dishes are not hurt by this, and especially rendang benefits from at least a day of maturing. The little lady behind the counter was friendly and efficient, quickly portioning food and using all four microwaves. Again I got the Ramas menu (€8,60) and I substituted bami for nasi, which costs €0,60 extra. I also noticed that they had Sambal Ikan (€3.00), so I added that to my order. There are only a couple tables to sit at, fortunately I was planning to take my food home and eat it later anyway. When I finally got around to eating it, I quickly noticed that it was searing my mouth! That's perfect for me, who uses El Yucateco hot sauce liberally on my eggs in the morning; definitely avoid the items marked as spicy if you can't take the heat. Again, I regretted getting bami and should have gotten nasi kuning instead. It costs the same and is more bland so it goes well with the other salty sides. Sambal Ikan turned out to be mackerel, which I love! And this was no exception. The oily fish went perfectly with the spicy sauce, and I was given a lot of it! I also got spicy eggplant, spicy egg, spicy tempe, and spicy green beans. Hooo~ my mouth was on fire afterwards. I can see why the place is so popular!
