The croquetas were crisp and rich, and the squash blossoms were one of the more interesting things on the table. We also ordered pizza. The crust had a nice char and chew, and the toppings were generous. I enjoyed it, although a couple of my coworkers were a little less enthusiastic. For me, the smaller plates stood out more. The room was lively, and the mix of vintage plates, copper-toned tables, and simple details gave the space a lot of personality. I also liked how naturally the menu lent itself to passing plates around and trying a little of everything. We had a party of 9 and many items were forgotten about, which made service feel a bit chaotic. For my meal I ordered a jamón y queso empanada and a tamale con rajas y queso. About 15 minutes later they came back and said they were out of the jamón y queso empanadas and only had tinga left. I said that was fine, but when it arrived it was cold, almost frozen. I asked them to heat it up, which they did. The tamale, on the other hand, was good--hot with great flavor. The coffee and juice were also solid. More than likely, although the restaurant and atmosphere were beautiful, I'd go elsewhere for better food at a better price.
