Meh. The looks to this place are deceiving. Not great. Not the best pricing. Not the best service.

Okay Toks in Tijuana is like Denny's in California. A chain restaurant that just does enough to satisfy the hunger but not enough to write home about. What I liked was the service and cleanliness of the restaurant. The server we had was very friendly and suggested items she liked on the menu. I had the chicken soup which was good, a hibiscus mix iced tea which was very refreshing and milanesa tacos which was just too bready for me. My husband had the mole enchiladas which he enjoyed. the prices are reasonable however you have so many other awesome choices around that this place is more for convenience than anything else. If you are looking for somewhere where you can feel comfortable in place you don't know well than this is your place, otherwise I would say to venture elsewhere.

During our weekend in baja, we went shopping in Plaza Rio. After we found everything we were looking for, we decided to get some food at Toks. For those that have never travelled to Tijuana before, Toks is similar to Norm's. I had quite an appetite that day, so I decided to order their green chilaquiles, which also came with a generous amount of chicken. After what seemed like 20 minutes, we got our food. My plate was delicious, and a bit spicy, which is exactly what I expected. The other plate came out pretty good as well (check photos, please). The coffee was decent, three cups got me wired real good for the next several hours. The customer service was a bit slow that day, but there were a lot of people there that day, so that is excusable. The waitress and staff were friendly, and aside from the longer wait, the experience was great. If you're shopping in Plaza Rio, and crave a breakfast dish, give this place a shot.

I don't even know if this is meat. It is a thin small cut of something that is horrible

This is one of the worst restaurants I've ever been to in my life. The food had no life, no love, no passion, no taste, no nothing. It is a joke for them to think that someone would actually enjoy consuming this, I don't know what to call it. I'm actually insulted that they even served it. Ok

    Meat!

Very slow service, made us wait about ten minutes to be seated, even with multiple tables empty in all sections. Servers took a long time to come take our order too. The prices or expensive when compared to the other options in the mall while quality is about equal. Slower service, higher prices equals I won't be returning here.

I don't think I've ever come to a restaurant and got and omelette this small ever

This place is a nice restaurant it's got great parking and the service is good I got a waitress that speaks English and I had no problems ordering my food the only thing that I can probably say about this place is the portion of the food is not very big this is probably the smallest I'm at I've ever gotten in my entire life at a restaurant

Everything is super expensive. Waited forever before anyone seated us. Didn't see anything special on the menu so ended up walking out.

Don't come here for breakfast if you're from San Diego. You will be disappointed. Service was great though.

What really sets this place apart is the outstanding customer service, the staff is welcoming, attentive, and treats every customer really nicely. It came highly recommended by both locals and fellow food lovers, and after seeing the incredible reviews, we knew we had to experience it for ourselves. We ordered a little bit of everything: tacos de tripa, tacos al pastor, tacos de asada, and an asada quesadilla. Every single item was packed with flavor and tasted incredibly fresh. The tripas were perfectly crispy without being greasy, the al pastor was juicy, well-seasoned, and had that classic balance of savory and slightly sweet flavors, and the asada was tender with a delicious char-grilled flavor. The asada quesadilla was generously filled with meat and gooey melted cheese, making it the perfect complement to the tacos. One thing I really appreciated was how convenient the ordering process is. They have a drive-through style setup where you simply pull up and park in front of the restaurant. An employee comes directly to your car to take your order, and once your food is ready, they bring it right out to you. It's such an easy and efficient experience, especially if you're eager to grab amazing food and get back on the road. It's easy to see why this place has earned such a stellar reputation. Between the authentic flavors, generous portions, friendly service, and convenient setup, this was the perfect way to kick off our trip into Mexico. I'll definitely be making this a tradition every time I cross the border.

The Zona Rio location has a small dining area, that is very popular with both the locals and visitors. It is easy to see why. Their menu does not over dose on the standard morning and afternoon items that you would find anyplace. However, this is the first restaurant I've been to in Tijuana, that does not have an English menu.... so I had to labor through the Spanish menu. But, they do have unique dishes, thus making the visit adventurous, because it is difficult to choose. I went back and forth, and finally settled for their 3-egg omelet with asparagus and sheep cheese. It came with refried beans, strings of carrots and beets, small fired up tostadas and fresh tortillas (both blue and yellow corn). A small side of soggy chilaquiles was also served. A small flavorful salsa tray is also provided with 3 options, ranging from mild to hot. The asparagus spears were thin, cut up into small pieces and sautéed with mild spices. The outer egg covering soft and not overdone. If anything, there was too much sheep cheese, in certain portions of the omelet. I say this because it was an asparagus omelet, and it, instead of the cheese, should have been the star. Still, it did not take away from the other commendable aspects of the complete entree and its accompaniments. Before the meal, a small refreshing fruit plate is served. Coffee and overall service here, was mucho excellente.
