Nice little Japanese bodega. It's tidy and nicely unkept, however the selection is a little lacking. Albeit the store itself is small, the majority of the items are dried foods, then some frozen snacks, and finally a small section of cutlery like teapots and cups. Nice for a small dip into the Japanese cuisine and the owner is friendly to do business.

Very clean and organized shop with all the essential Japanese cooking needs. We needed seaweed for sushi and was quite surprise with several selection. Also, we bought Vietnamese rice wrapper which I thought they would not carry. They primarily carry Japanese items hence Tokyo market. Plenty of snacks to choose from and I opted for the seaweed & salt chips...yum! There is small section of frozen items. Frozen sushi grade fish and calamari. I highly recommend this place for the quick Japanese cooking essentials.

Green tea & musk melon ice cream. Instant ramen everything. Bento boxes so cute you don't want to use them... Walking in here took me back to when I was in Japan, except I was in Yorktown, not Tokyo. Apart from the awesome Japanese food selection available, amongst the spices and sauces, you'll find kawaii charms, jewelry, candy, wasabi chips, matcha everything, comics, cookbooks, chopsticks, sake giftware, tea sets, ceramic pots &tea cups, Japanese incense, stationary, cards - the list really could go on! I love the ceremonial grade matcha from here - I'd much rather spend $10 for the real thing than half the size for $30 from Whole Foods...it's a no brainer guys! I urge you to visit this place if you haven't already and if Japan is one of the loves of your life. Exceptional fish for sale for you sushi sashimi fanatics, and the owner is more than happy to help and cater towards your needs. A more authentic selection than any superstore I've seen so far claiming they have authentic Japanese items.

A cute little shop that's worth the visit. It was managed by a gentleman when I visited and he was so friendly and helpful. There was a lady who came in while I was browsing and she was searching for a specific item and he went above and beyond to show her products she was describing. The store offers an array of all things Japanese related. From snacks, to all kinds of ramen and condiments and tea and cooking stuffs, they had it! Everything was neatly organized and was easy to look through things. The store is very small - like one file line through the isles to fit. I did find things to be a little bit more on the expensive side like the green tea I needed. For the price I paid I could have gotten double elsewhere but the quality is top notch. They offer some things I haven't been able to find in other Asian stores so I'm sure I'll be dropping by in the future.

Love this place! It's perfect for shopping for authentic Japanese products. Also besides a large variety of food, they offer beautiful ceramic pottery, beer & sake & other things. There were 5 of us & everyone had a lot of fun. Also Mr. & Mrs. Lee make you feel right at home & Mrs. Lee helped my mom carry her basket = super nice. We are looking forward to coming back - can't wait.

Food Lion is the only grocery store of Cape Charles and basically the main hub for everything in the town. Cape Charles doesn't have a chain drug store like a CVS or Walgreens (which nearly made this city girl pass out), so for anything you need, you can count on going here. The makeup section is quite literally just a very slender few rows of items that's heavily picked over. But, again, this is a Food Lion. You're probably here for food (but if you forgot to pack something, pray to Jesus you can find something here to suffice). We purchased some groceries for our few days in Cape Charles and were able to find everything we needed, including a few housemade pasta salads and a fried chicken. The store is very organized and clean and surprisingly big for this tiny town. This grocery store will get you through your weekend trip the way it did for us!

I just wanted to update my review because I still continue to come here…read more I prefer Food Lion prices to another local grocery store chain because I feel like Food Lion is a little less expensive. I have come here and they are very low on pretty much all of their produce and vegetables. I have also came here and they are fully stocked like today. I was able to find everything I needed. I really love that they had a section of baked goods that were made in a peanut free facility since I do have a child with an allergy. Our cashier was very friendly and I I really appreciate that. I would up at the five stars but I do come here frequently and there are days where they are very low on everything so I will keep it at 4 stars.

I'm only here temporarily for an internship (4 months), so naturally I needed to get some food and basic necessities for my apartment. Food Lion was the closest grocery store to my location (don't have a car), and based off the current 3 star reviews, I was expecting a limited selection, high prices, and bad service... Not the case. Food Lion has a very wide selection, from food to house maintenance (even tupper-ware) it carries a high variety of items that any common household might need, and it also has loyalty reward system (free - called MVP). I recently turned vegetarian and to my surprise, they even had meat substitute products (Tofurkey, and Morning Star). Got me some Deutsche beers (good variety available), produce, and necessities; it's a full-on grocery store. Lastly, I talked to two employees - one to inquire on availability of vegetarian substitute products, and the other the cashier - and both were friendly enough and helpful (my cashier was very amiable, shoutout to you Dillon, great attitude). If you're from the West Coast/California, this store is comparable to Pavilions//Vons, Ralphs, Walgreens. Not bad. I hope people with a good experience will rate this place accordingly; it deserves better ratings. Hope this helps to anyone new in the area. Cheers.
