So I visited Toley's a few times the past couple of months as I like their food (the tomato soup is a fave) but I genuinely like the events they host. Music Bingo and Trivia Nights are quite fun and what keeps me going back. It is sad though that it seems with each return visit, the service gets worse. Tonight was special because 1) I was struggling to find a server to get my initial order placed, 2) my food order is often delivered without the basics (napkins and silverware), and 3) I was never offered refills or the chance to place an additional order. What made it extra special was that one of the ladies in the group had an automatic gratuity added to her order (20%) while the rest of us were given the option to choose our tip amount. Without explanation and no forewarning. Now normally I am very generous when it comes to tipping. I recognize the hard work that goes into serving customers but with the low level of service, i didn't feel 20% was deserving. I want to like this place, especially with the "new" management, but attentive service is the most important in the industry and really has an impact on customer experience. This place has changed hands several times over the years and it has had its up and downs. We had been there several times and honestly stopped going after being way overcharged several times. A week ago we heard that it has a new owner again so we stopped in to check it out. Some things have changed such as they no longer have pool tables and adding more seating. The menu has changed and it looks burger forward which I am here for. We were there on a Tuesday and they have a special 2 crunchy ground beef tacos for $3, so we tried them and they were pretty good. We will come back and try the burgers and see what else has changed. read more

After 25 mins of sitting at the bar/restaurant for the first time ever after recently moving in the area (not busy btw) and overhearing 3 other guests talk about military service (I served 12years in combat), I stood up and thanked the one gentleman for his service during Vietnam & the other couple's daughter who is currently serving..... They asked what I was drinking,,, and I said "Nothing, was going to order a beer, soda & food for my son & I, but clearly they don't want to serve me".... I had a gift card that I needed to use and ordered take out. I waited and sat at the bar, had a drink - bartenders were great, even the server that was taking care of my order. My son, husband and myself got some sort of burgers and I have to say.... it did NOT taste like no 'Bar' Food! This was freaking bomb! Fresh meat, toppings, the flavor... even the fries! Toley's used to be a great bar but the food has definitely gone downhill. The last few times I have been here for brunch, the food was either overcooked and dry (breakfast skillet), undercooked (raw pancake), or a breakfast burrito that was mostly potato and very little egg. They have gotten rid of their bottomless mimosa option even though their website says otherwise. Service is hit or miss. They have good happy hour specials and have added a wooden wall around their patio which is a nice touch. Went back tonight around dinner time and split the nachos. We live super close and have been in or ordered take out about a dozen times. We used to enjoy going to trivia night occasionally. However we now have a baby and eating at home is easier. I ordered takeout last night of wings, Reuben and chicken sandwich over the phone. When I arrived I saw there was a $1 charge for each item for "to-go" which I can understand for the containers. But additionally a 20% Phone Take Out fee!! No where is this fee listed on the menu, website, or said to me over the phone. So in total was charged $13 before tax for the pickup of these 3 items in styrofoam containers. That's an insane upcharge. I would gladly tip on a take out order but to already put a "to go" fee on each item and THEN a 20% phone charge is outrageous. Unfortunate as we liked the food. read more

They have live music and we came to support a fellow coworker who was performing for the night. Drinks are cheap and food is decent. This def isn't a place I would frequent. Older crowd with a definite Midwestern vibe. Not bad for a suburban neighborhood bar. Saturdays are sangria Saturdays and I highly recommend getting one! Food is typical bar food and quite cheap. They had a sign on the door asking for patience as they were understaffed but seeing the open concept 2 waitresses buzzing around helping everyone else, and one chatting at the bar we still waited to order for 20 minutes. They had the sign on the door so I'll let that slide. As for the food. Underwhelmed. I had the burger which i can 1,000,000 % guarantee was bought in bulk and just sits in the freezer. Zero flavor, teeeeny tiny patty and just grey. Seriously have better burgers any where else u can think of. I also ordered a lemonade and I'm pretty sure it was Crystal light. Though I am happy that restaurants/bars are OPEN. I don't appreciate when there are zero guidelines being followed to keep the public safe from COVID. A few Fridays ago, we stopped in for a quick drink. The place was packed, wall-to-wall people, no social distancing, no empty tables, And WORST OF ALL the servers and staff weren't wearing masks either. To top it all off, there was a guy serving food, no mask and sneezed onto the 4 different plates. DISGUSTING. The head chef handled my issues with grace and understanding. The owner on the other hand, snarled "I don't believe you." Stomped back into the bar from patio and was never seen again. I will not spend another penny in that dive. Mind you one of the guests that was with us was on oxygen, wears her mask always and when we walked in she was completely grossed out by the lack of public safety and we left before ever ordering a drink. read more

Wow! We had a not so good experience a week prior and the manager asked to come in and try it again. We were so impressed! The food is very inexpensive and you get a large plate! I've met with friends several times as it's the in between place location wise. The service is SO friendly and attentive and the people who frequent here are just good salt of the earth type people. The food is phenomenal and I think between all of us over the visits we've tried just about everything on their menu. Their drinks are equally great and we've all enjoyed their red and white sangrias and bloody marys. They serve brunch items until early afternoon as well (tried those options as well). First time at Toley's today for lunch and they were taking social distancing measures seriously, so that was good. The waitress was great, and service was fast. If you like a sports bar atmosphere you will probably like Toley's. Also today, there was a live band, pretty chill group with a couple of harmonicas and a guitar. The food was mediocre, typical bar food. I had a breakfast burrito, green chili was good, my husband and parents had the country fried steak breakfast; yes we visited at lunch and had breakfast for lunch, breakfast is served until 3pm. Stopped in for music 7-10pm- only spot left was next to the musician. Feels like the best seat in the house to me but my fiancé was not feeling it in regard to social distance from tables to space. They then did not acknowledge us for 20 minutes.. this is when I myself threw in the towel. I'm not a culinary trained chef but I got this from solely tasting it...The Philly's on the other hand were very good! Again the onion rings were too oily for my taste but they nailed the fries.
