This little neighbor bar and restaurant offers great cocktails and yummy food. They have every kind of whisky/bourbon you can think of and they really know how to make a drink. All their burgers come cooked exactly to order and are very flavorful. I love their fries, they have the perfect crisp while still being soft inside and they also have a great blue cheese-balsamic chip appetizer, made to order. Update: I got my chance to dine in here. This place is known to have great burgers but I ordered chicken sandwich! Our waitress said it was a great sandwich and she wasn't lying! The rest of my family did order burgers and thoroughly enjoyed every bite of those burgers. The burger on the kids meal is pretty darn big too! The other thing they are known for is bourbon! And what a selection they have! Huge list with many options if that is what you want. They do have cocktails too - none of them appealed to me so I went with a red wine. Seriously would have never known this place existed if it wasn't for the yelp! I was jonesing for a burger and fries so I stopped here during lunch and was surprised to see that they have lunch specials! Burger and fries for under $12 and it was tasty! I sat at the bar and ordered the mushroom Swiss with fries, it was fresh, cooked perfectly and basically the burger I had been dreaming of. It's a little past Southlands east on Smoky Hill so more of a spot known by locals but it's worth the drive if you're looking for a solid burger. read more

Shout out to Yelp (yes, again), for taking all the mystery out of finding a great place to eat, in a distant part of Aurora. We showed up on Christmas Eve Eve and waited just a tad. Not bad for a Friday night paired with a holiday weekend. Everyone ordered burgers and an assortment of sides, mostly fries. My friend and I veered off and had sweet potato fries and tater tots, but that aside, this was an all American meal. Everyone raved. Even the gluten free bun was stellar - and if you're serious about GF, you know this is a big deal. Each burger was cooked to order, seasoned well and let me say, the green chili burger was fabulous. We live 5 min away from Bookmakers Burgers, so we decided to give this place a try while watching the NBA finals. The restaurant itself is cozy yet spacious, dimly lit to make it more of a pub atmosphere. It wasn't busy at all, and we seated ourselves at the bar. The waiter was super friendly and gave us plenty of time to look over the menu. We started with mozzarella sticks, and they were not good at all. It literally came out 2 minutes after we placed an order and of course it wasn't cooked all the way through. It really seems like they just bought those frozen mozzarella sticks, threw them in the deep fryer and just served it right away. The mozzarella sticks were cold inside, and the marinara sauce was also served cold. Why put them on the menu if you're just gonna serve half-assed food? I ordered the bookmaker burger with bacon and my gf ordered the oddsmakers burger, both medium. The burgers came out as well done, the bacon was too chewy, almost as if I was biting off a piece of leather, and the buns were stale and hard. Overall, the food was ok, not great. Not sure if we will come back again, but I guess I'll update the review when that time comes. read more

Bar seating was almost full, so we selected a table against the wall. we were greeted within a couple of minutes by our server, Alishea (sorry for the misspelling),. Wife had an Old Fashion and I chose from the extensive bourbons & whiskeys. Prices were not out of line We ordered the Balsamic-Blue Cheese Chips as a starter. I'll be honest I have been excited to try this place for a while, and today I was craving a good burger so I figured it would be perfect. Unfortunately it was very disappointing overall. We got a burger and grilled cheese, the burger had almost no flavor (save for the sauce, which still couldn't carry the whole meal) and my medium request came out well done. It wasn't dry but just bland. Same goes for the BYO grilled cheese, only a few slices of cheese and weak in the added bacon. It came with a soup side which was the worst, not sure if it was a campbells soup can heated up or if it wasn't, if that would have been better. We also got green chili fries that were average at best. For a place with burger in the name, you'd hope that it would have decent food but they really missed on this visit. Although not a huge mistake, it cost them a star. I also tried the peach Old Fashioned which was awfully sweet. It s not very often that the food comes out looking as good as the yelp pro pics, but these burgers came out really really close. My burger wasn't quite done enough (was VERY pink inside) but our awesome server (Julie) made it right and the 2nd burger was perfectly brown all the way through AND still juicy. These were hand formed burgers, not pre frozen flat and dry burgers. And their sweet potato fries were AMAAAAZING. Hubby had the Green Chile Burger with tots and I had the BBQ burger. Opened in 2016 and I finally had my first visit here. Unfortunately, I walked away with a bit of disappointment in that our burgers were dry and overcooked (asked for medium) and the buns burnt on the edges. There is little flavor in the burgers, so something is amiss here. My BF did say the pulled pork green chili was "pretty tasty". They do offer veggie patties and gluten free bun substitutions (at an upcharge, natch). Also on hand are salads, sammie's, wings, the usual.... Good choices in bevvie selection, which includes whiskey or tequila, beers on tap or in bottle, and wine. The environment is very casual. It is a good place to watch multiple sporting events, perfect for TNF (not so crowded!) I've been to Bookmakers Burgers +Bourbon+ Brews (B4) twice now. Overall, I give it 4 stars! My first visit was late on a Friday evening. We went to catch up with a friend who recommended B4. My husband ordered the oddsmaker with chips and I ordered the wise guy. Our waitress that night seemed really out of it and was very forgetful. All of the boys ordered beers and I ordered a water, my water was forgotten. When I got my water I asked for a straw, which was forgotten. When I ordered my meal, I asked for a the wise guy with no arugula and a side of ranch; my meal came with arugula and no side of ranch. The food however was delicious which led us to visit a second time despite the spotty service we received on our first visit. Our second visit was also on a Friday evening. This time we had the same waitress...I was nervous. She must have been having an off-night the first time because I definitely have no complaints about our second visit. The food was great and my wise guy made it to me without arugula and my side of ranch. All of our meals for that fact were great. As far as burgers in Southlands go, B4 is about as good as it gets. They provide generous helpings of high quality meat and declines toppings to compliment. I'd highly recommend especially if you are like me and you like to avoid all of the burger chains out there. read more

Sometimes you don't feel like cooking but you want a PBR and a delicious burger and some sweet potato fries that are crispy on the outside and warm and soft on the inside with just the right amount seasoning. Sometimes you don't want to get all dressed up. You just want to show up in your grubby's and have a shot of whiskey and talk to some nice people and eat some amazing food. I don't care if the cook gets lettuce from King Soopers why the heck should that matter? All I know is there ghost pepper chicken wings warm you up in the winter and cold beer in a nice clean bar that doesn't smell like Clorox is where I want to be in the summer. No buttery flavor, very dry and appears to have two different type of cheese slices on 3 slices of bread (kudo). 3. Burger (Bookmaker) portion was big but pattie was the type that's pre-made. No flavor at all. Had to put lots of ketchup and mustard. 4. Buns: soggy. Buns are key to any establishment doing burgers!
